      Should have a nice Frankenstein when your all done. Will be a good project. Not much to it just take lots of pictures and have labeled baggies for the screws nuts and bolts and shouldn’t be too hard. One thing I wish I did was tape the baggies to the parts I removed to make it easier to remember where they all went. Good luck with your project 😊

    Awesome job. Just purchased a 78 Camaro Type LT and RS with T-Tops. It needs a lot of love. I am inspired by your video. I am ready to get to work. Thank you!

    I’m so glad I came across your channel. I just picked up a 77 and holy hell I got my work cut out for me…most of the interior is missing and basically the car is like an alphabet soup…just picked up an assembly manual to see where everything goes

      I’m glad this video helped you out. That assembly manual will come in super handy! They are not the best, but way better than nothing! Good luck with your build! Hopefully you will be on the road sooner rather than later.

    old dry rotted carpet is sooooo fun to remove, my interior was blue like yours on my 1980 that i am restoring and the carpet ripped up in hand size chunks it was so dry rotted.

    • @BackyardGarage1
      @BackyardGarage1  3 роки тому

      Yeah it was not fun. The biggest pain was removing the old seam sealer though. So nasty

    Must have, at one time, had a heater core leak and it caused all the rust on the floor. Bummer, hopefully no more surprises.

    I just did the same thing. Pulled the entire dash. Not as easy as some light think. Like you said it’s hard to work in and around an old car. Any car! Good job. Hope you decided to replace the wiring harness. Doing all this work I know I will in mine.

      Yep I did. I have 2 episodes on the wire harness later on.

    I can't tell you how awesome this video is for me. I had none of this in my car when I got it. So, I have NO idea how some of this stuff goes back together. Thank you so much for documenting all this!

      Not sure if you have an assembly manual or not, but the are really in depth and show pretty much everything and where it goes.

    I have a question for you so I got most of the wiring off of my car and all that’s left is the fuse box wires that’s right behind the bracket where the steering column bolts to and I want to know how do you get it out of there.

    • @BackyardGarage1
      @BackyardGarage1  2 роки тому

      There is a bolt in the middle of the harness on the outside and There are 2 screws on the inside holding the block onto the car. Once the bolt is out of the block on the engine side, it comes apart and then the 2 screws on the inside remove the block from the interior. Hope this helps

    • @shawnchaney4656
      @shawnchaney4656 2 роки тому

      @@BackyardGarage1 Thanks for responding I have already taken the outside fuse box off and unbolted the inside fuse box I just don’t know how to get the wires from the inside out because they were pushed in behind the steering column bracket that is welded to the firewall that is factory and I don’t know how to pull the wires through behind by the steering column bracket without damaging the wires I hope I’m explaining it better.

    • @BackyardGarage1
      @BackyardGarage1  2 роки тому

      @@shawnchaney4656 so take the brake booster off and then you will see bolts that go to the steering column bracket. It shouldn’t be welded in. Also drop down the steering column if it’s in and then you can pry the piece apart where the steering column bolts on. Hope that makes sense.

    Can you tell me where the fusebox are on a ´77?

    • @BackyardGarage1
      @BackyardGarage1  3 роки тому +1

      It’s under the dash on the firewall on the drivers side. The fuses are glass fuses. They are old school not like the new style blade types they use these days.
