I hope that kid saved that Lionel train set - probably worth a fortune today. Great memories and I'd gladly fly in a time machine to get back to them. Thanks for sharing.
The food had to taste much better back then and this is the way it was when I was a child everybody would dance after dinner. What happened to these days long gone
Well not much convince foods, lots of people still alive willing to make stuff from scratch, and microwaves were non-existent not much room to cut and compromise taste.
I can't help but be reminded of these small, cramped spaces we would all gather in. Seems we were much closer for it thsn all the open space we have now in housing.
Christmas 1962 was certainly a joyous time considering the tense event a couple of months earlier! Those chunky Lionel set boxes with everything in an individual box & no clear plastic windows to view the locomotive, cars, transformer, & track - I wish you would have filmed the train running! 1:50 - Looks like one of the girls got a radio! 2:46 - A little early in the day to be wearing a lamp shade on your head! 4:23 - Did the telephone have a dial? 5:55 - Control - line airplane; everyone would probably get irate if you started the plane's motor inside the house! I always had trouble starting my plane's motor too. 6:48 - Bandstand in color! Do you remember any of the songs that you danced to? 8:59 - What was he doing up in the tree? 9:50 - Confirmation?

3:00 it’s always interesting when a tv playing something gets in the shot! 5:44 that baby has to be about my mom’s age. And those rubber band powered planes!
To take color movies then was pretty expensive. How can we not forget those big movie lights. You had to wait until they were sent to a lab to process them too. Things are sure easier now.
Hello, we are interesting in using about 1-2 seconds of this footage in a project we're working on. We are a small advertising agency but we need to make sure we have both copyright clearance and clearance for any of the people included. Could you please contact me to discuss at miiko.martin@siltanen.com. Thank you.

@Jaelyn4.20 - Trains have taken a hit value-wise, in recent years.
Gotta love there's always someone that opens a gift like the paper is gonna be reused, not tearing it. Lol!
Oh, for those lovely days.
Those were wonderful days♥️⛄
