AWESOME VIDEO!!!! You saved me hours and hours of time. We service 20-30 cars a day, and all of the mechanics were impressed with replacement time. You are the real deal. THANK YOU
I really appreciate you for this. Ive been a year without full ac, like luke warm air. My driver side actuator was out and I didnt realize it. I took it to a shop and they said they needed to take apart my whole front end, and they wanted $3,000! I checked the compressor and the clutch was working, I looked at the condenser and there was no leaks and the pipes were cold. The passenger side was blowing 68 degrees but the driver side was blowing 82. Nightmare in florida heat. Went to auto zone and bought the actuator for $38. Did it in under an hour. But man that screw was an absolute pain in the ass. Had to use a little ratchet and ony had an inch or two of wiggle room. If you have chunky fingers I think your screwed. Very appreciative for this video. Gracias amigo
I had the same problem dealership wanted to charge me $1,200 because they're going to take the entire front dash apart to get to it for $35 part, this video is very helpful it's still a pain in the ass to get to that rear screw but it can be done for a fraction of what the dealership will charge
Been searching for days to find a potential fix for my wifes 2018 Suburban which has decided to only blow hot air from all the front vents, rear vents still blowing cold. This video is on point because now I know how to troubleshoot before buying new actuator(s) and can potentially get her some relief. Thank you!
Great video! I got my part on amazon for like $35 bucks, I used a micro flex head ratchet with a torx bit. Worked right after plugging everything back in.
Awesome video! Thank you for sharing! How can you rule out these units are the cause of just hot air blowing? My ac blows hot air no matter what temp settings I set it on? Thanks.
if no cold air first check if your ac line gets cold and fan and compressor working. if all Is good just remove the door motor and u can move the door by hand. most of the time the problem is the blend door motor but is good to check first.
I’m not fully understanding the actual removal process probably because it’s difficult to get a camera up there but when you’re removing it the gears need to be pushed all the way into the cold position. Then the actuator can come out and the new one can go in. But if the actuator isn’t going into it’s gears, you would need to manually push it?
What controls which vents the air comes out? My defrost for my windshield won't stay on defrost and switches to defrost and the floor every time I turn it on. Ac and heat work great I just need my defrost to work right.

You're welcome! yea i have replaced many of these so yea i have a bit of practice already lol, but the first time was so hard.
Thank you! Worked for me in my 2016 Tahoe. I thought it would be impossible to screw the new actuator in but it was comparatively easy.
You're welcome! Glad I could help you out 🙏

Did you unhook the battery or remove any fuses before you unhooked anything?

Nice work!
Great video brother now i understand how it works n how to fix it
thanks for watching
August 3,2024 is the day you saved me a nice chunk of money lol appreciate you bro 🎉

Best explained and detailed video i could find ,thank you
Glad it was helpful! thanks for visiting the channel

yea you can manually move it
Excellent video. This was very helpful. Thank you!
No problem
Great video, in the meantime i could just push the actuator flap manually for cold air right?
Yes you can!
Do you have a part number? Also did you buy OEM or aftermarket? Thanks for the great video
How do you get the bottom plastic piece off? A lot of things you removed off camera. I don’t want to break anything. lol
u need a 5.5m socket to remove the bottom cover is very simple
Thanks for posting. This really helped
glad it helped. thanks for watching

My truck is stuck on defrost do you have any videos on that?
yea it could be the same issue both motors are used for either temperature or door position
Really informative video very detailed. My 2014 was not getting hot on the passenger side
thank you and thanks for watching
Did you unhook the battery or remove any fuses before you unhooked anything?
Nop just did it with the ignition switch off and that's it
GREAT VIDEO!!! You saved me 1800 dollars. May both sides of your pillow be cold.
You’re welcome! Glad I could help!
Once you swap and set the and set the other the bad one on cold, will it still blow cold air?
yea I did this test just to confirm if the actuator was bad.
When you replace the actuator do you habo to program something or it’s just like changue the piece?
no no need to program anything
Could this also be a solution if i only have air blowing though defrost?
yea you probably have a bad one too
You think all that dirt build makes it get stuck, will some brake cleaner help?
no it is actually a fault internally with the actuator. better change it

pusiste motor original o aftermarket?
@@JVFIXLLC lo compre en autozone pero parese que no son originales me dijieron que si tienen que calibrar con un scanner
Good guide and replacing the actuator fix my issues. But wow that project sucks
yea it's abit hard to change it. thanks for watching
Ima have to watch it again to make sure I get it all done right when I get off work I'm going change mine
it is a bit tricky but is possible to do it at home. good luck
@@JVFIXLLC thanks appreciate it
any time
Good evening. What was the size were the bolts?
I think it was 5.5mm
Thanks for the vid brother!
no problem.
My AC blows mostly through the defroster . Could replacing the actuator fix the problem ? Thanks in advance
the one i changed on the video is for the temperature but in your case the one that actuates the doors could be going out.
Thank you for this video
no problem
Would removing the radio be a lot easier or there no way to get to it from their?
it could I haven't tried it
The back of the radio is sealed.
@@JVFIXLLC No, the radio compartment is completely sealed. No access.
Do you have the part number for the actuator ?
I left the link in the description
Instead of showing us the parts after you've removed them, why not show the removal so we don't have to guess how they came out?
That's very good point.
Crazy concept.
Was the truck throwing a B0413 code?
on this one had a different code but yours is very similar to the one i had
In a 2014 Silverado is it in the same place?
yeap same location
@@JVFIXLLC 👍
Necesitas desconectar la batería ?
no no se ocupa desconectar
@@JVFIXLLCthanks gracias amigo tengo la misma pregunto lo boi intentar
Donde te encuentras para servicio?
estoy en el area de visalia California
Still had to be recalibrated or it will eventually get out of sync
yea it needs calibration with a scanner but sometimes just swap it and it does not require calibration
How did you remove the last one
the one behind the glow box is the hardest but the one at the bottom is only 2 screws size 5.5mm or 7mm I think
So no need for a scanner tool to recalibrate correct?
yeap no need for that
Thanks
Welcome
how much does a job like this cost ?
I charged 150 for this job.
My dealer wants 2k.. 😅😅😅
what? how? that's insane
Your forearm is going to hurt after putting that driver side screw in.
yeap lol
Probably have some truck in your dust!!!
Yeap if it's a work truck
Thanks
No problem
