A great reel. I put a Tiburon topless frame on mine, and I still prefer it for casting heavier pound test line on a longer casting rod. Just a classic that is easy to take care of and it will never get too old/outdated. The right size. An Old School favorite!!!!
Great 112H take apart video One question is there anything special about the screwdriver your using on the pen side plates? Size and shape of head? Thanks loving your channel Randy
No. I use an electrician's 3/16 I like the rubber coat on the shaft and the blade is a perfect fit for the slots in the older Penn reel screws. Thanks for asking
So what if the pinion gear is stuck on the spool? I got everything back together but can't get the spool back in like this. Can I pry it off the spool and put it in like you did? thanks in advance!!
Hi Dennis, A reel sweet spinning effort once again!! If I had to guess I'd say the pinion gear might have been replaced as it had a small metal collar on the small upper part of the pinion gear. You mentioned it looked to be made of stainless ? All the Best and enjoy the Stripers !! Cons
Im pretty sure this reel has a Jigmaster gear set so the little band around the pinion gear should be there. The main gear should be steel, not stainless like the pinion. Most of my old Penn reels are about 70 years old or older. Back then they mostly used a steel main and a very hard bronze pinion for the smaller reels and all steel for the bigger ones.
They are but they are now made in China. There are plenty of used ones made in The USA if you want yo go that route. If you see H2 after the model number the reel is chinese made.

Watch this video to see how I did it with a Jigmaster. The process applies to your reel as well ua-cam.com/video/RiqZ_eazyqM/v-deo.html
