    I recently picked up a bluetooth system and noticed it actually made my helmet louder by removing the foam that was in the speaker cutouts. This is a genius idea and I just ordered these and am looking forward to trying this out! Thank you so much.

    I have an AGV K6 that is plagued with wind noise on my 22 GSXS1000GT. I can hear conversation up to about 57 mph and I have noise cancelling earplug in. I've been told carbon fiber helmets are louder, but it was tested by Champion helmets as one of the quietest. I will receive these today and am crossing my fingers. I have the Cardo packtalk black and tried the newer version before that and they don't get loud enough, which tells you my ambient noise is too high. I have near perfect hearing.

    I prefer the quiet ride helmets. They have ear cups with air bladders behind them. Once you put the helmet on and get the ear muffs over your ears, you pump up the air bladder for a custom fit. As i have tinnitus this is a great help. I also use earplugs in combination with it. Really quiet. They come with speakers. You can also just buy a kit for your existing helmet.

    Just found out that if you pass the shockwave speakers through the chin strap holes of the padding, there’s a small spot you can put it. Then there’s no padding blocking the speakers and it’s just right into your ear holes. Or at least for the Atlas 4.0 helmet.

    How did you stick the speaker pads onto the unit?

    • @ChopperFett

      Good ole fashion super glue so you have to be fully committed. They do make ones now that slip over. I ordered them from Amazon Europe and they have done the trick.

      Maybe… I know when I had the gtair2 it felt pretty snug as well. If you feel like there is a good gap between your ear and the helmet I’d say it could work

    If I wear a thin balaclava, that's enough material to make it way too hard to get the helmet on. My one helmet is impossible to get on. I have several helmets and it's the same for all. Not silk, but regular t shirt thickness.

    I was going to ask did the guards rub on your ears and get uncofortable on longer trips? but the balaclva would probably ease this issue.
    Nice solution to making the helmet quieter.

      Yea the gaiter def relieves any tightness. I got another one from Ruroc for cold weather thst goes over the mouth and ears and it worked the same on a 40 degree Fahrenheit day.

    • @ChopperFett
      @ChopperFett  2 роки тому +2

      I haven’t felt any discomfort other putting the helmet on itself being a little harder. Once it’s on, it’s not pressing against my ears fully, it’s reducing the amount of open space inside the helmet.
