So fun fact about this cover. While it sounded like Jon was emotional during this song, he was actually sick with a cold. So at some point where his voice gave out, it was because of his cold, not because he was getting choked up. It's kinda neat how him being sick worked out in his favor for this cover.
I seen covers of Unravel but Jonathan is just a talent and hard worker this is something that is high above every cover i heard and i like it even more then original. Same goes for his Hero - One Punch Man that was another song that is same like this one, bit remaked but sound better then all covers and i like it again kinda more then original.
Yeah, totally agree, Unravel cover of Jonathan is even better than the original, and for me, the best i've seen Spanish and english covers/fandubs but sang by women, this song was meant to be singed by a man who can raise his register. At least that is my opinion.

This song has a lot of amazing covers. This one by Johnatan and AirahTea are my favorites. There is also one in my native language which is great, mainly because of the translation and the nice voice of the singer. I like it when artists play around with the arrangement of this beautiful song.

If you're looking for more to react to then check out Divide Music and some of his songs such as Clover, Voice Inside, Hear Me, Hide, Believe and The Straw Hats. I also recommend listening to them at 1.25x speed as they just sound better to me that way.

Damon Norman That's a really unfair and arbitrary criticism. Japanese and English are completely different languages and the translation will never be spot-on. Even the absolute best and most faithful dubs are often not exactly what they're translating. This is because Japanese is constructed differently, for one. It's a subject-object-verb language as opposed to English, which is a subject-verb-object language. Japanese also has idioms that have no direct English translation. Thirdly, some things are just lost in translation, so even if an English dub were as close as possible to the source, it STILL wouldn't be completely accurate, and it never will be. Even the lyrics you're using that you say are the "correct" ones are still rooted in translation, and not what was actually said. Lastly, John probably made some small changes to the lyrics so they could better be sung in English. This happens in every song that's translated from one language to another, not just Japanese to English.
