Congresswoman Kaptur, the longest-serving woman in congressional history, has dedicated herself tirelessly to serving Ohioans and all Americans. Over 17 years, her unwavering commitment to establishing the World War II Memorial on the National Mall has honored the sacrifices of millions. Thanks to her dedication, the memorial has stood for twenty years, commemorating the service of 16 million men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces, over 400,000 fallen heroes, and all who supported the war effort on the home front.
Furthermore, Congresswoman Kaptur continues to preserve the national memory of World War II. Her pivotal role in initiatives like the 2024 Greatest Generation Commemorative Coin program ensures that the lessons of the past endure, fostering unity across generations.
