What's funny is Franco started off so defensive against Ricky but he could stop reading and by the end had a big smile on his face none stop 😂😂
Perhaps they should've taken his advice, because they bombed hard at the Oscars.
It's quite ironic that James Franco said Ricky Gervais bombed when it should be completely switched around.
I wonder what the hell gave James Franco the impression that Ricky bombed at the Golden Globes..... the ratings were record high, I believe.
Unless of course he meant that Ricky WAS the BOMB.... which would be correct!
Ricky Gervais "bombed" so hard, they invited him back 4 times, with great ratings, while James Franco still cannot show his face after that Oscars disaster.

He assumed Ricky was bitching about them, read Ricky's blog entry, realised it said nothing bad about them and then tried to awkwardly back track.
The two of them stupidly misunderstood the whole thing (that's how you know they are American).
To paraphrase Stewart Lee, what I did in the previous sentence was use the rhetoric and implied values of James Franco and Anne Hathaway to satirise the rhetoric and implied values of James Franco and Anne Hathaway.
Ricky Gervais is an absolute genius, and he was the funniest host of an awards show I have ever seen. James said the Globes bombed because of Ricky haha, it was funny as hell, look at what a snoozefest the critics and fans said your hosting skills were like smart ass, you along with anna were boring as, they wont be hiring you back next year.
@MrRapman127 I totally agree with you, Ricky Gervais was only reason people were interested in the Golden Globes! But I think he was just joking when he said Ricky bombed at the Globes!

You guys do realize that this whole thing is basically a skit, and Anne and James are both acting...
I had never heard of James Franco before today but, after watching his Oscar hosting attempts, my opinion of him is - mediocre, bland and nothing special to look at. Ricky Gervais, on the other hand, is extremely clever, hilarious and I personally find him quite sexy, despite what James Franco says about Gervais' looks!!! I find myself watching Ricky's past hosting over and over again because they make me laugh so much. All of these so called "stars" want to get over themselves and realise that they are not as special as they think. (with the exception of Clint Eastwood)
From what I've heard on other interviews, James never actually watched the show, so he might have gotten his 'bombed' opinion from other actors who might just happened to have hated it? Who knows. I've always figured if Seth Rogen likes him, which he's said he does, then he must be likeable.

I wasn't trying to appear cultured, intelligent or even condescending. Had I been pretentious, I would have told you who Stewart Lee was and assumed you had never heard of him. But I didn't do that did I? I paraphrased Stewart Lee in my previous comment in order to prevent getting a load of responses from people (if I got any responses at all) laughing at the irony in me pointing out Anne Hathway's racism, followed by me being racist towards Americans.

To be fair, Franco was laughing at some of the jokes as he read. I don't see the big deal here at all....

These two should have taken notes from Ricky. Ricky will always be the greatest host of award shows. James and Anne were cringy af.
Gervais wasn't offensive, he just wasn't funny there was nothing shocking in the speech, just overused jokes. I hope he comes back next year and is more original.
