- Recorded during the Glass Spider Tour at the Sydney Entertainment Center on nov. 7th and 9th 1987.
This is one of my favourite Bowie-songs. I saw the Rotterdam show in '87 and remember the lady on skis... and how about Peters vocals : )) It was magic!! lol Pure magic........ Enjoy! : ))
I was 3rd row, center, at the Glass Spider show in Atlanta, when I was 19. When they performed this, my GF at the time was standing next to me, with her mouth hanging open, and I had tears pouring down my face. I miss you, DB, so badly.
TheDeadeye42 The whole act is superb. And Frampton really tears it up. But man, that choreograpy is maybe the most beautiful thing I've seen on a rock stage in my life!
Peter Frampton often evokes an emotional response, not surprised she was in tears
I saw 2 of the Sydney shows. The first concert I'd ever seen. Not 3rd row centre. First show, probably because I went by myself, I got seated far off high and deep on one side with a big fat pillar right in front of me. As I got bashed up randomly by some gang in the streets right after I bought my ticket, and had my wallet and so my ticket stolen, I was probably lucky to get a seat at all at that show! Special pleading got me in! Next show, having got two tickets this time, one for my brother, the seating was more central, but the video screen was about all that was worth watching, db otherwise just a thumbnail in the distance. Still, these were my first shows, and they were legendary. 'Time'" with the mainman in Angel wings, and "White Light" with Sexton were out of this world, way beyond the video, nevermind the pillar. And this song was a special treat for those who knew Heroes, the album, like a call from beyond the far -fetched 80s.. I would have liked to be 3rd row centre, too. But the DVD makes up for a lot of loss. Ta for your story
He still is a great expression of life force!
@@yeah381I was too!!❤❤
Wow how amazing is Peter Framptons voice on this!!
Sooooo good ❤❤❤❤
Sounds just like David Bowie on the record.
He came alive...
i’m sorry but i want this song played at my wedding, at my kids’ wedding, at my kids’ kids’ wedding. i want this song played all the time.
Peter's BABY BABY! was most excellent...seems to have been written just for him.. bravo!
I LOVE the interaction with the girl. Magical and so imaginative. So very - Bowie....
Precisely.
0:51 and 2:11 Superb vocals Peter!
There are TWO very beautiful, talented and sexy men on that stage!
Both unassuming, neither ever realising or wholly enjoying their full effect on their audience.
No one ever had or ever will have the stage presence of Bowieman.
I adore this song, the choreo, everything but I'm always blown away and super happy that Bowie checks in with Constance Marie before that last little choreo bit, his quirk of both eyebrows like "ready" even though she knows the song but it's very endearing and professional.
This is my favorite part as well!! Truly professional and caring at the same time, This is what great artists do :)
Good performance, nearly as good as the classic studio version and Peter Frampton sang the chorus surprisingly well. The Bowie as hypnotist choreography blended pretty well with the music too. And the Thin White Duke topped it all by looking and sounding great.
That was magical, love that song.❤ Was lucky to see David on his Serious Moonlight Tour in Edinburgh, early 90's, sharp big shouldered suits & blonde hair, how he suited all his styles & changes.
Miss knowing he isn't in our World anymore, but as long as we can hear his music & remember, he will never really die.💜🐱🏴
One of my very favorite David Bowie songs, from my favorite David Bowie album.
i never knew david bowie had telekinetic powers
I did!
Grande Bowie. Grande Frampton!!!😍⚡⚡💙💫
I am always in awe of this performance, the strength of her legs, is insane and it is oooh so creative, intoxicating. But I miss David doing- the baby I wont ever let you down, as he is does it much better!!!
Totally magnificent performance from David alone, and then there's Peter Frampton too! Great quality video, enjoyed it.
Simply beautiful to look at and listen to - Bowie and Frampton fit together great here!! Can't stop enjoying it. More than the original.
Peter Frampton's vocals are excellent in this. I don't usually like this song, but, with his singing, I have to listen to it on repeat.
I'm totally with you there. This was never a favourite song of mine until this.... I had the privilege at Wembley Stadium.. Peter Framptons vocals really do make it!! I listen on repeat now too.
I think is one of the best song of ever
@@tonym90 Since my original comment, my opinion on Sons Of The Silent Age has changed. This version is still the best one I have ever heard, but the studio version is also great!
@@azorbz9286 it's way way way way better! Bowie singing the chorus is where's it at!!
I was simultaneously struck by the familiarity and unfamiliarity of hearing Peter Frampton singing the word “Baaaaaaby” in this song.
As much as I revere the album version, I think this version is wonderful even just for this pairing.
Wow, I was at this concert in Sydney, so happy to see this footage after all that time. This was my 3rd Bowie concert and I quite simply adored, and still adore him, the perfectly 80's coiffed Mr Bowie rocking that mullet. I had completely forgotten that Peter Frampton was there, what a bonus. Still, the first one is my most beloved concert in 1978, such a very special place in my heart for this beautiful, generous and transcendent gentleman. Miss you my love. x
Yes me too. The Heroes/Isolar World Tour 1978, his 1st full world tour ever. What a supernova it was, maybe his best band ever along with the Reality Tour band. Totally breathtaking, stunning neon tube lighting, the music, the setlist and the clothes and and and...
I know what you mean by this. I can totally relate! Bowie is a god.
Great song and great visual show from Glass Spider Tour !
Also a great performance from Peter Frampton
The dancing here is extraordinarily imaginative.
I have seen this Tour but at Spain, on July 7th and 8th, 1987!! .. wow 32 years now!! 👍❤
So sad that David's gone still. I was lucky enough to see him once @ Pensacola Fl, sometime in the 90's. I think it was the "Sound and Vision" tour. The sound was terrible, as they used the auditorium PA system, but he was great.
Cool video..Is that Uncle Peter Frampton on guitar
Such an amazing concert. I'm so happy I can look back at these clips and feel a strong connection again.
Frampton just kills it.
OMG this was in Australia!!!😭😭😭😍😍😍😭😭😭
My 👑 and hero knows I'm not gay, but he's also fully aware, in the spiritual world that he's the most handsome dude in the world 😂😮😊👍 🌟 😘 ❤.
Excelent perfomance, although the "magic trick" thing is kinda bizarre.
So you’re saying something David Bowie does is “bizarre” to you? Interesting...
@@theactualsalvagedrover I love David Bowie. But I don't have to like everything he did
This is blowing my mind is that Peter Frampton? This is killing me I never heard of this before crazy dreams crashing
They were schoolmates as children.
... that is why tickets; even at huge arenas and stadiums holding tens of thousands of people, sold out within 2 hours after going on sale.
I knew Peter Frampton played guitar on this tour, didn’t know he sang some of Bowie’s vocal parts too! He wasn’t too bad actually
- Bowie could have been a mime. Highly interesting, stunning form of art - yet still underrated.
underratedunderratedunderrated
It was a very theatrical show and DB least favorite, however I was at Pontiac silver dome nr Detroit in 87 to see glass spider. Bowie never bored anyone !
Started out well, but I can't enjoy it with another guy singing the chorus.
Too bad :) I think Frampton did great.
RIP David

AWESOME SONG!!! Peter Frampton certainly played his part very well!!!
OMG Not thirty years ago..??
Peter Frampton with his POW/MIA t-shirt on
What? No Auto Tune? Ahhh those wonderful days.
I saw one of the Madison Square Garden NYC dates for the Glass Spider Tour on 9/1/87. Terrible seats. :-(
I can see where this song spills into his last album very interesting . 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I was at the London concert, cant remember any of it........
For me Isco a discovery ...but all with DB is marvelous ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🤔♥️
Superb:)
Say what you will about Bowie in the 80's but his live performances & vocals are... Masterclass
Check out Glass Spider's, Time... excellence par none
Yes, Time is a masterpiece live song on that tour, it was visually stunning, such a beauty song from 1973s Alladin Sane
Thank you ...... Jennie
she got the gomu-gomu nomi
Lovely DB
I remember this, the Glass Spider tour.
Me too.always
SUBLIMEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
I’m sad he died 😢😭
it happens to us all eventually
brillIant concert
Amazing hair !
Sorprendente montaje...
❤
So many hazy memories.. Saw him on this tour back in 87 at Slane Castle in the Irish Republic. The trip down from Belfast had a few too many cases of beer on the hired bus and a few strange somking options.. When this came on and the girl came out, I remember the first thing that I said was "Are those fucking skis?".. The tour was slated but I enjoyed every second, probably...
Fabuloso ao vivo em Madrid com mais de 20 grandes amigos
This is a REAL SHOW

57:00 told ya he’s so powerful
david bowie was a legend if i had 3 wishes they would be
1.bring david bowie back from the dead.
2.create a cure for cancer.
3.and to have all of david bowie's albums.
one other thing who is that blonde guy who sings "baby i'll never let you go" i've never seen him before.
Peter Frampton
@@saramonteagudo5668 Had the best selling l.p. in the world for a short while in the late 1970's, called, "Frampton Comes Alive", before Meat Loaf's, "Bat Out Of Hell".
what wa$ he thinking? $$$
This does not do the song or david bowie any justice. Wonder what happened inside his brain in the 80's. This is a disaster imo.
Buff, horrible, lo mejor de la canción es el estribillo y cantado por esa otra voz queda bastante cutre, sumado al look de ambos y esa imposible coreografía con la parte mimada, la huella de Kemp jjjj
habló un sibarita musical...
The problem with the Glass Spider Tour was it just wasn't theatrical enough.
Bowie is God.
