    I figured this out quite by accident. I got a Discover Rewards card and saw how quickly my rewards accumulated. I switched everything payment over to my card. Cell phone, groceries, cable, etc. Then I paid off the card in full and early every month. No more interest but tons of rewards. The rewards can be used as cash and even pay the card bill the next month. My credit score is about 830 now. No debt except for mortgage and now working on that. ❤️ Thank you for sharing these videos!

      If your debt is growing by $20,000/year, no LOC will help. That means you are spending about $1670/month too much. A LOC is just another type of loan with more flexibility. It won’t fix the core issue.
      Sorry to hear of your loss.

    I'm new to your channel, I am so glad I found you. I am 55 years old and have a son who is going to turn 20 next year. I don't want him to live the way his mom and dad have lived all our lives paycheck to paycheck. This Friday I am trying your method for the first time. I have worked all week figuring out what I pay what I have to pay and just writing it over and over on paper seeing what the numbers could look like. We have all done a no spend month in August getting ready for this. My husband is hoping this will work and I am excited! I pay all the bills so I know how I rob Peter to pay Paul as my grandmother would say. I'm just tired and I want a new way I don't want to feel scared anymore I don't want to worry every month. I need this to work so badly. Every day I have been watching your videos. I feel like this is going to be it this is what is going to change everything. I love doing this with the walmart card since get 5% cash back for online orders so do the online grocery pickup. Feeding a family of 6 with food and necessities easily amounts to 1k a month and so get 50+ a month in rewards. I started doing that when carried a balance so was paying interest and kinda just paid the amount to credit card when did 300 pickup order and realized that satusfied the monthly payment already and then would be charged 25 in interest but brought in 40 in rewards so offset the interest was paying

    Thank you. The first card I got I had been doing this without even knowing what I was doing, and then we lost a job and moved and was suddenly in debt since 2016 and I couldnt figure out how to get out, so I solidified/consolidated CC into a personal loan but also added in the car so the usual car payment is going to the payment for all that. And I really want to get this 35k out of my life so I can get my mortgage out of my life.. and I’m struggling to find the way that will work to do this, I’ll keep watching your videos and hopefully I can jump in without fear soon.

    Velocity banking is great and most of your videos makes sense. But the example on the whiteboard about the credit card is all a mess. When you pay things out of a credit card, it doesn’t go to a zero balance- so that will be confusing for new viewers. You start with a zero balance and when you pay your bills, the balance goes up. Then when you deposit your check it zeros it back out.

    You can’t pay credit card debt with another credit card. Many banks and institutions and even some private companies won’t let you pay off your bills with a credit card. They require you to pay with a checking account because they don’t take credit cards. This system you explain may work with some but not with all debts.

    This lady is wonderful. I never used this, but lived like my father. Paid cash for everything except mortgage & paid 50% extra on it to avoid interest. I buy (cash) a reliable Toyota & drive it for 20 years. Have multiple credit cards with $15k limit but pay off every month. What I never succeed at was using debt to invest in real estate & build assets. I’m looking at distressed properties I could maybe repair (used to build homes when young) & rent or flip. I’m almost 65 & want to stay productive & leave my kids kids with assets they can pass. Wish I would have seen this brilliant lady 20 years ago.

    Thank you for sharing your personal story. Its so inspiring and you make excellent points about the way we all personally have been managing our finances. I have been researching the velocity banking strategy and initially thought of going the HELOC route; but banks are being a pain to apply to so I'm changing my strategy to PLOC or just credit card. I like the way you explain the strategy.

    I fall into that category of making $9k mo, but due to some bad business decisions (not on my accord and buying more house than my wife and I should have) we have to throw in the financial towel and file Ch 7. Once I get through my Ch 7 and get re-approved for a basic credit card again (several months down the road) I am going to work up to a LOC again. I will also be proudly driving a beater car from now on as my family only needs one highway worthy car; mine will be the $3k A-B vehicle😊

    I've been doing a trick paying off my mortgage and Im not sure if its a "velocity banking" trick so if you could let me know if its similar. My Bank of America credit card always has promotions to take out money at 0%. So I take out 20,000 at 0% for 18 months. They directly place it into my checking account. I then take the 20 grand and place it directly on the principle of my mortgage. So then, I pay the mortgage monthly as usual AND I pay the 20 grand off monthly for the next 18 months. Once its paid, I take out another 20 grand. I have done 6 rounds of this so far. Now, I could just double up the payments to my mortgage monthly and put the second payment to the principle, but placing 20 grand down in one huge chunk eliminates a higher amount of interest that needs to be paid back opposed to extra monthly principle payments. Now, keep in mind, I have a large saving account so if anything happened, I could pay off the credit card balance at any time. But my thought is, why give the mortgage company my hard earned savings when I can use the banks 0% interest offer instead! 20 grand is what I can afford to do. If people want to try this, take out 3 grand or 5 grand. We will have our mortgage paid off in 14 years using this method! Yes, its hard work, yes you have to work hard and be diligent, but I come out of all this with my savings account still in tact and a future 16 years with no mortgage payment

      Just be careful there aren't any cash advance fees tied to a credit card cash transfer. Credit cards usually apply a cash advance fee when taking out direct cash. That's usually specified in the fine print on your credit card agreement. Once they hit you with the fee there's no way to get out of it. The credit card checks they like to send in the mail are the same. There's an up front fee on those which is in addition to interest charges. If you take out cash and pay it back the next day you are still going to pay the high cash advance fee on it.

    • @thequeensbudget
      @thequeensbudget Рік тому +2

      @@savannahtraderful Yes there are fees, 3% and Im charged $600 every time. But we find $600 every 18 months is far better than paying the $9,000 or so in interest during the same 18 months.

    • @savannahtraderful
      @savannahtraderful Рік тому +2

      @@thequeensbudget very cool idea. I've seen videos on doing this with a HELOC. That of course charges interest and most banks will not approve a HELOC to pay towards the mortgage, plus 20% LTV required, plus paper work and income validation. I like this idea if your card offers it interest free.

    • @thequeensbudget
      @thequeensbudget Рік тому

      @@savannahtraderful Yes, but I cant stress enough the diligence and dedication involved to pay off the balance in the allotted time. That, and a high credit score. Thats why I get so many 0% promotions on my already existing credit cards. But, like I said, people can try this by taking out a lower amount that they feel comfortable with paying back. Just keep in mind that every time you take advantage of the promotion, a 3% fee is added to the balance. Thats why we take out such a high amount so we dont get whacked if we did lower advances over and over again.

      You would have a double payment. What you still owe the monthly to the bank for the house loan + paying back the credit card. So that concept doesn’t really work for most people

  • @dreamweaver221
    @dreamweaver221 Рік тому +3

    Another good thing of using this method is that if you have a credit card that gives cash back you get that benefit too. I used this method once to pay the monthly charge of a credit card. I had no money at all and asked my son for the money he was setting a part to help on the rent. He was a little insecure but I told him I was going to return the money before the payment of the rent. It worked just fine. We paid 2 bills with the same money. It was fun and I paid him back latter.

    Thanks, you provide great and valuable content, but please please please try reducing the prolonged introduction and get to the point quicker, that's what will keep people watching. Maybe 30 to 45 seconds at most, then let the final conclusion be as long as you want and make the viewers know that it's the conclusion so they can choose whether to watch it or not.
    On the long run, it will stop people that watch you for the first time getting bored and leaving your video, while they could've been new subscribers if they weren't pushed away by that sort of intros. Believe me, the ideas you present are good enough to hook new viewers if they just get to see it quickly before clicking on the next UA-cam video on their screen.
    Good luck and thanks again, the core of your videos is really helpful.

    Hey everyone. If you do this, be sure to keep enough in the bank to handle your minimum payment due. If you plunk all your monthly income into your credit card before your statement date, that's fantastic for your utilization and interest.... but you'll still owe that minimum payment.
    If you don't pay that minimum payment between your statement date and your due date, you'll be assessed late fees and you'll get late payments on your credit report. Do it often enough and the credit card will get the limit lowered.
    So just keep enough for your minimum payment back in your bank so you make that payment on time.

      @mariannaryan456 but what if my Social Security arrives on the first of the month, like many. And I put it all the CC right away. My statement date is on the 6th. My statement says I now have a minimum payment of $250. My due date is on the 27th.
