The close up of you playing on the neck is super helpful! In some of your other videos it's tough to make out which strings you're playing, but this video was very clear.
I have been practicing el. guitar for 9 months now. Year and a half on acoustic before that. And when I started on electric, tried this one, advanced version. Seemed like mission impossible, too complicated. But now fingers just go where I want :) fantastic feeling when practice pays off. Cheers.
Outstanding tutorial Andy Crowley ! The BEST one I have seen for "Hey Joe"by far. The other lessons are either very simplified acoustic versions, or someones "own" interpretation. This is spot on IMHO. Thanks for all you do ! Can't wait to put this together with the solo...YES!!! Cheers from California ~
Thanks Andy Finally, you helped me to nail 'Hey Joe'. Quite beautiful the way you treated each compartment now I can put them all together....Cheers, much appreciated!
It's been so long. I did this one on YT 11 years ago and I'm brushing up. I followed from UK's "Total Guitar" magazine--which I can't find--getting some video ideas.. Thanks Andy for that 2-finger "D" hammer-on...I'll use it. 5 STARS! --Van
how come English guys are all happy and great guitar players ? must go back to the old days when ya ran around playing lutes , chasing maidens , slaying dragons , drinking mead and all that cool castle stuff
Great Lesson. I've never seen you before, but I'm subscribed now. Your teaching technique is very good, easy to follow, and you have an affable personality. Thanks!
Cool lesson. Thanks. Off to the Thanks Jimmy Festival Guiness Book of World Record jam in Wroclaw Poland that takes place every 1st of May. This was very helpful.
Dozens of people trying to do this song and this guy seems to get the bends and harmonics close. Some people say Hendrix is overated but nobody can play his stuff. The only one that could was SRV and he’s in a class by himself.
Great song to improvise. Totally get why he liked it and what he did with it. Electric blues and great passages. The versions he likely listened to are noticeable guitar though folk and bluegrass might distract from blues, it’s still good song that way too. Personally I do funk. Crybaby triplets mostly. Lol
I am enjoying this as well, God knows how many times I've had to go back to see where your fingers are, but for someone who is never really picked up a guitar and is old what the hell it's it's good. I will drive the neighbors to drink. cheers!
Great video. But please show us everything you did there. Rewinded a hundred times and couldn't get it. For example, what do you do right after the D chord before moving to A? I'm dying to know. There's some other bits also after that.
I liked this lesson a lot. It's a pitty though that you didn't explain those chord 'variations' you play at ~0:10. They sound so nice, but I don:t know how to play like this :(
I CANT HAMMER WITH MY ACOUSTIC :( it's way too hard! I try pushing my finger on the string after picking but it's super low volume! Already encountered this in the Roadhouse Blues tutorial and it's really frustrating. Do I need an electric?!
Never thought I'd be able to play this so easy! Thank you so much! Absolutely buzzing
The close up of you playing on the neck is super helpful! In some of your other videos it's tough to make out which strings you're playing, but this video was very clear.
Peter Braun I'm learning as I go- glad you like it :)
I cannot believe I can play this. Can't tell you how much I appreciate it, Andy. Huge fan.

+Paul Parks thanks Paul! I couldn't find a good one either, so I made one! All the best with learning to play it!
+Andy Guitar do u think u can get a shot of your picking hand as well?
Smashing epiphone. Are you sponsored or just prefer them over gibson. Great tone too!!
Taught me one of my favourite Jimi Hendrix guitar riffs
Thanks Andy
Finally, you helped me to nail 'Hey Joe'. Quite beautiful the way you treated each compartment now I can put them all together....Cheers, much appreciated!

Great Lesson. I've never seen you before, but I'm subscribed now. Your teaching technique is very good, easy to follow, and you have an affable personality. Thanks!
This series of lessons is amazing love it, for some reason I find the picking lead parts, riffs and licks easier than the chord shapes.
Love it Andy...you're great teacher and great guitarist

Thanks alot
Hey Andy, I've mastered the songs in this series of 10 (very helpful videos by the way), but I don't know where to go from here. Any recommendations?
Peter Braun the package store. then turn it all the up.
I am enjoying this as well, God knows how many times I've had to go back to see where your fingers are, but for someone who is never really picked up a guitar and is old what the hell it's it's good. I will drive the neighbors to drink. cheers!
Gonna give this a try but seems a bit advanced for me
Nice lesson :)
Hey Andy. Thanks for the lesson. By the way, your voice kind of reminds me of Geoff Boycott (If you ever followed cricket).
Good work! Hope to catch some more Hendrix funky riffs. : D
cool stuff
4.49 the bit I need
super😍
Your lesson was almost correct!
You just needed to play it LEFT HANDED 😎
Very helpful. You should put the tab on the screen tho. Would hep 1000x times more for intermediate players
❤
Great video. But please show us everything you did there. Rewinded a hundred times and couldn't get it. For example, what do you do right after the D chord before moving to A? I'm dying to know. There's some other bits also after that.
Hi,could You make something about harmonic MAJOR and his modes? :)
cdefg a-flat b
For example all 7 modal progressions.
Do you use any distortion for this song? If so what pedal do you use?
i use a Boss ME-70 on the clean channel but with the gain all the way up for a bit of bite!
Excelent jop thanx
I liked this lesson a lot.
It's a pitty though that you didn't explain those chord 'variations' you play at ~0:10. They sound so nice, but I don:t know how to play like this :(
James Wilson I'm trying to figure that out too. And what's that little trick on the G strum?
Tricky, but I think I'll work it out. Thanks! I've heard so many version with differnt kinky bits. This one can keep you occupied for a long time.
Gerd Wiesler he's got a lesson for the chords easy C, G, D, A, E.
Sounds more authentic in Jimis tuning Eb
I CANT HAMMER WITH MY ACOUSTIC :( it's way too hard! I try pushing my finger on the string after picking but it's super low volume! Already encountered this in the Roadhouse Blues tutorial and it's really frustrating. Do I need an electric?!
Awsome video Andy, could you please do a video on the Ben Poole solo in the song i dont know why i love you live at the Blues Moose. Thanks
What is your black pickup?
Are you using just a clean tone on your amp?
rip hunter teaching play... good!
Excellent....-:))
How about shooting star by bad company
Hey Andy can you teach us how to play badge by Cream please and thank you
What epiphone led Paul is that?
Great lesson as always, but for the life of me I cannot get that little lick just before the chords, the one with the hammer down.
Good music❤💯🎼🎵🎶🎸🪕
