    Sir I have a question....Is it important to use a retarder to slow down the drying of the paint or is water enough?

    • @DebojyotiBoruahArt
      @DebojyotiBoruahArt  3 роки тому +1

      No, it's not necessary to use retarder. I don't use any retarder at all. I simply use water mist spray on my palette to keep my paint moist. It works. Thank you so much for watching 😊🙏

  • @amandagermany5933
    @amandagermany5933 2 роки тому +2

    I notice that you often begin with mid tones and even some light tones as opposed to the traditional "start dark end light" method. Do you find this to be helpful with acrylics due to the fast drying time? I have always painted in oil and have just recently moved to acrylic to reduce fume induced migraines. I am enjoying acrylic but I don't find it as easy as oil.

    • @DebojyotiBoruahArt
      @DebojyotiBoruahArt  2 роки тому +1

      Yes Amanda, it's extremely helpful when you start with a middle tone with acrylics. Just think about painting on a toned paper with charcoal and white chalk. As simple as that. Good to know that you are switching to acrylics. It's easier that you think. But have overcome the procedure of oil painting methods. Here premixing of colors may not work for you. Instead work on layers made with freshly made colors each time. I don't use retarder at all, instead I use water mist spray on my palette to keep it moist. If you wish, you can JOIN my channel for REAL-TIME longer versions of my videos. Have a great day 😊 Good luck 👍
