As a kid playing Pokemon Blue, the very first thing I did upon getting the Master Ball and finding out that it had a 100% catch rate, was try to steal another trainer's pokemon with it; as I thought doing so would let me join Team Rocket in the game... it failed, and I lost my Master Ball.

13:50 I GOT THAT ONE. I was SO PISSED when I saw this, because I was in the middle of hunting my FIRST shiny, Scorbunny. I went to the Isle of Armor to gain some EXP from Klara, and for no real reason, I talked to Hop. And he showed me a shiny Carvanha. I'm honestly still salty about it. Mostly because I assume odds were 1/4096 (because at the time, I didn't have the shiny charm.)

I have probably spent more time in the Pokémon camp than I have actually playing the game and let me tell you. I have never ever seen a Pokémon appear in the camp.
Really? I rarely used the camp and I had 1 Pokemon join me and multiple wild Pokemon show up in camp
I've seen the mimikyu before, it's was actually pretty sweet and cool and the deliberd going down the chimy.

When you brought up the lets go games and the masterball i instantly remembered the moment i accidentally threw the masterball at a tentacool. Luckily the animation gave me enough time to realize it and reset the game. 😅😶

About big buizel, I was doing a water type only playthrough in PLA, and I found a 2'9'' buizel just by chance. Also I found a shiny krikitot just randomly in that playthrough as well lol

so the chance was from 1/27300 to 1/6820 (depending on the chain, because I didn't count on what number the encounter)
In all 4 of the times I played through ultra sun and moon ive seen the delibird in the shady house. I had no clue that was a rare event lol
After watching this video i remembered that i as a child have seen both the hiking camper 2 times and the mirage island in ruby sapphire amd emerald too bad i dont have footage
God I wish there were cool secrets and stuff like this in new Pokemon games but now they're just left unfinished (imo it started to get worse after USUM and the only exception has been Mystery Dungeon)

The rarest thing that happened to me is that I was doing a platinum nuzlocke, walked up to the first gym trainer and got crit rollout 5 times in a row. I didn’t play Pokémon for 5 months after that

Back when RSE was fresh and the internet was not a part of my daily life, I happened upon Mirage Island by chance. Didn't know about it, didn't know about the NPC who tells you about it, just was out surfing around and it was there.
I don't think I picked the berry (didn't care about berries at the time), but of course I checked the wild encounters and was extremely confused about only encountering Wynauts.
When I told my pokemon loving friend about it, he had no idea what I was talking about, so I went to show him, but being the next day or so, it was gone.

The first part reminds me of something: in Fire Emblem 6, there is a really small change to miss an attack, while having a 100% hit chance
If you didn't know, Lichi berries actually make golden pokeblocks, which significantly boost all of your contest stats if I'm correct

I doubt I saved that lichi berry, though. I went past the island without thinking about it
I'm pretty sure I've seen the hiker more than once, but child me didn't think anything of it since it looks like the opening credits. Then again, child me also let go of shiny Zigzagoon and shiny Raticate in gen 3 because I didn't even realize they were shiny.
I was playing a nuzlocke of Pokémon unbound and my rivals toucannon swept my team with multi strike moves. He hit only 5x and I’m just here crying on the floor

I am not a coder but matching first 2 digits of a retrieved number of all Pokemon personality values from your party to a random number between 0 and 65535 (2^16-1) seems like it's could be easy to code. Like, as a non-coder, I could do it in Excel. Like, you have randomly generated personality values of your 6 Pokemon, you have your randomly generated number between 0 and 65535, you retrieve the first 2 digits and nest multiple IF commands that check if those first 2 digits are equal to the first 2 digits of your party's personality values. If yes, Mirage island event is triggered, if not, compare with the first 2 digits of the next Pokemon in the party. For the final If command, you put Normal Map event (without Mirage Island). It's really easy to do, that is probably why it was used.

i saw a tiktok where someone said they rematched the noble lilligant in legends arecus and their lilligant was glowing yellow like a noble afterwards as well apparantly it had something to do with the lilligant being coded exactly like the noble wich was like a 1/insert stupid high number here chance

In ruby 20 years ago I found an island that ive never seen before where I found a Latios which was the first time I ever saw that pokemon. Friends thought i was lying because the island wasn't there. It was mirage Island
I have gotten the mimikyu in the Pikachu valley and the gold bottle cap from the digging brothers but none of the others. I’d say the mimikyu is somewhere between 1/6000 and 1/7000 I got it just short of 6000 encounters. The encounters are fairly quick.

I remember hunting for a razor claw to complete my dex in Moon and god that was actually one of the most difficult evolution items for me to find. I started an SOS chain and used thief on everything that showed up (since I was really stupid and wasn't using a mon with frisk) but I did eventually get it and completed the entire dex a few days after that.
It was complete torture for my hyperactive eleven year old brain.
I remember getting the Mirage Island in either my Ruby or Emerald, but was sad about only Wynaut since I didn't even care when I got the one in the hot springs, but the berry was cool while my internal battery lasted. I also did get the actual hiker on Ruby and I did tell my older brother, and he didn't believe me. Never got the camper.

Isn't it because Counter fails against any move that isn't Normal or Fighting back then?
@@LonesomeDevil Even then, my opponent was spamming Stomp. Unless the game meant that my Pokemon flinched and instead gave me the attack missed message. But even then, it did gave me the "Alakazam used Counter" message, which makes me think it wasn't a flinch.
@@sharingheart13 ... Now I think I'll need a little more details than that, because everything about the situation seems weird. Why Counter on Alakazam? What was weak enough to be unable to KO the physically frail Alakazam after 10 Stomps? If it was so weak, why not just obliterate it with Psychic? Even on a resisted type, it would most likely be a better option than Counter, which Alakazam doesn't have the HP to really abuse. I'm gonna hurt myself in confusion.

@@sharingheart13 Fair enough. On my very first Pokémon Yellow playthrough as a kid, I got to the Elite Four with a Level 70 Pikachu and the rest of my team in its low 30s and couldn't get past Bruno. Yes, the Bruno who's arguably the worst Elite Four member in Pokémon history. So I really shouldn't judge someone's abilities at the game when they were kids, haha.

I know of a somewhat(?) rare thing with the buizel side quest. on a rare chance, a normal buizel might be big enough to count. I haven't done it myself, since my luck is trash, but I heard it might be the case, since my best friends mom got it. is this true? no idea, someone check for me
I'm pretty sure I used a normal one. I definatly didn't use an alpha, cause I can't catch alphas to save my life.
On my first playthrough, I could never find a large enough normal Buizel so I waited for an alpha to show up. On my second playthrough, one of the first Buizels I caught was large enough. I don't know why, but I was very annoyed about that.

It’s OU in every generation except 2.
And the only reason it was UU in those is because it’s evolution was somehow even more cancerous, and hardly anyone used them both on the same team. (I can only assume cause if someone played someone with both on the same team there may have been shootings at Pokémon leagues…)
It's useless in a normal playthrough. It's super tanky but can't do anything back.
