Josh Deal , do you love the double barrell ? Is it able to play all from light crunch warm blues to heavy classic rock ? Thanks for your answer and help, kind regards from France
I'd like to hear this up against the Wampler Paisley Deluxe. Both have a Nobels circuit (albeit a different one in each pedal). Then you've got Nobels+Bluesbreaker-style (Protein) vs. Nobels + Tubescreamer-style (Paisley Dlxe) Someone needs to make a dual which includes a BD-2 type pedal as one of the gain stages. TS+BD-2 or BD-2+Bluesbreaker...and so on. Nice demo. Straight to the point.
Just ordered one of these a few days ago and watching youtube videos to vicarious live through you all until mine gets made in the 2-3 week eta. Great video going over the tones and capabilities of this pedal!
I got this one a fe days ago. its crazy. I got the king of tone, Duelist and Gladio. this is insane. I am using a Dumple style amp with this. not saying that theKing of Tone is not good and also the dualist but this one have something really special.
Very good demo on a very good sounding pedal! My only critique would be that more of an overhead camera view would have been nice in this particular video, as it's very difficult to tell where the level and gain knobs are between the 9 and 3 o'clock range.
Phillip Southard, difference of opinion though I’m admittedly biased. However, the [modded] bluesbreaker side of the Protein sounds less compressed and it’s EQ has more presence in the mids that’s very pleasing to my ear. Also, the “Green Side” is like the anti-TS and is a Nashville favorite for a reason! Instead of just taking two BB circuits and putting them in one enclosure with one modded for higher gain, why not pair a BB with another fantastic and quite transparent circuit (the ODR-1) that was designed to cover the higher range of gain (as intended in its original stand-alone format)?? No disrespect intended towards the KOT or anyone that disagrees, but this video does a pretty good job comparing the two... ua-cam.com/video/yPakrr-8gLU/v-deo.html
Chris N I get what you’re saying, but I find the KOT to be more mid heavy than the Protein, especially on the higher gain side. And although the KOT is two BB, they sound different from one another. Both of those pedals are absolutely amazing! I couldn’t decide which one to keep, so I kept both 😂
You comment the same thing under all the videos of this pedal. You clearly also have no idea what you're talking about, it's not based on king of tone.
@@tredman Well. ..yes and no. It was inspired by a heavily modified Bluesbreaker pedal that belonged to a friend of Mike Analogman. He modified it further and the result was the KOT.
Great demo. Thanks!!!
I'm a little late to the party, but very helpful demo and probably the best of all of them. I'm sold on this pedal!
thank you for the kind words. I appreciate it. It is an absolutely fantastic pedal!
Oh my. I'm just now getting my Double Barrel v4 to do what I want, but the green side of this just sounds so GOOD. Sounds great stacked too.

glad you enjoyed it, this pedal is special!
I'm on the fence with this guy.... I've been using a JHS Sweet Tea. How would you compare the two? Thanks, and great demo! 😁

That's crazy. I'm stuck in-between the duellist and the protein, any thoughts?
@@cloydibones1709 that's a tough one. Depend on what you trying to get. I think thr duelist is more versatile while not compromising.
@@adiriakya9724 I'm leaning towards the protein because even with all the versatility options of the duellist I probably would stick to one 😂
Agree. Something slightly different and special about it. Kind of indefinable though.
My 1 yr old is head banging to this demo.
you sir are raising him right! well done!
Hi Curtis, how would you compare this to the Morning glory?
Wahhhh, THE clean tone!!
Very good demo on a very good sounding pedal!

Really?? Ok Mr. Rogers.....
@@markp4818 I really have no idea what you were trying to accomplish, but have a good day nevertheless.
Which amp did you use? The protein seems to sound harsh and bright on non tube amps
Have you compared it to a king of tone? If so, which would you rather have if you could only have one?
Same! I have a Protein but always get tempted to switch it out for a KoT.
@@BigOz3434 good to know and thanks for the reply
very nice sound , on my wish list
Sounds great.
Thanks!
Fendery and Marshally in one box!
Wicked crazy good pedal! It’s a KOT slayer
🤜🏼🎆🤛🏼
Chris N not really. Have both, very different sounding. They compliment each other really well though!

Pure Tonewood meat baby
Sounds awesome....Think you’ll do a demo for the Benson Preamp?
I don't have one at the moment. I would like to but I have not been given the opportunity yet.
Another king of tone clone. Lol, a very simple build

no, actually It is not.
KOT is a Marshall bluesbreaker clone
