hi anyone interested in cut real real cost of cruises try Crazy Cruise Recovery Tactics ( it's at crazycruise.RecoveryTactics.com )? our neighbor suggested it pretty good
We’re going on our 6th cruise at the end of February this year. The ONE BIG TIP I can give everyone is DO NOT OVER PACK. I’ve come home with so many items I never even wore . And since space really is limited,it is frustrating trying to find a place to put clothes when you have too many. And it’s a pain to drag out your suitcase and go thru it every time you want to change your clothes because you know you have some thing in it as well as in drawers and hanging up in the closet.. so JUST DON’T OVER PACK. It will make u time so much less stressful.
Along with arriving a day early, you should never book your flight home too early on disembarkation day. Ship could be delayed for some reason and airport could be very busy. I never book return flight before noon.
I have been on over 20 cruises and your video is THE BEST CRUISE TIP VIDEO that I ever saw....EVERY topic was accurate and correctly explained (all I agree with after many years of cruising).....EXCELLENT JOB
Heather Winds of Destiny true.. but be aware that sometimes things happen. Last year our shuttle driver told us that a week before, there was a bad car wreck on the bridge going over to cape Canaveral and some people didn’t make their cruise on time. I would have lost my chit.. heck I would have walked somewheres and called an Uber and took the long way if I had to.
You asked us to tell you what we liked most about your video. It's you two, you really make me laugh, but still keep it sensible and informative. Thank you. Xxx
As far as shore excursions, I use to think booking a tour on shore was the thing to do, but I have realized that if you book through the the ship, you won't get left at the port if your tour is late, and this can be expensive trying to get caught up with the ship at the next port or even trying to get back home, this is on your dime. Another thing is and this is from experience, if you get hurt (fall down like me) the ship takes care of you and the expenses. If you are on your own little excursion tour, oh well, good luck with the expenses especially if it is a severe injury or fall.
Thank you so much for starting your list with travel insurance. Such a small event could cost you thousands while on vacation. A tip that we didn't find out until our third cruise is to either take a photo or take the actual portion of your daily newsletter when you go ashore of the emergency contact. Each cruise line has a point of contact for emergencies at each port so if you were to find yourself in trouble call the numbers listed.
depending on where you are cruising to, you can bring big cash bills with you and then exchange them at guest services or the casino desk for smaller bills. on some ships, they have a few machines around the ship to do this automatically. on carnival, they are called the sail n sign kiosk
4:40 we almost missed the ship once! we went on a boat trip around places in Italy, & they told us they’d be back at the port in time but something happened and for some reason we weren’t. we managed to ring up the cruise & thankfully they waited for us!!!
Happy New Year Ben and David! Thank you for sharing so much joy and video cruise content. I really enjoy all your videos! Still waiting to hear about the group cruise.
Thanks Ben and David for your tip to go to Alfredos early on in your Princess cruise in an earlier video! We went on embarkation day and we were glad we did. We went two more times!
I dont even cruise but you guys are such fun to watch! I might go on a cruise one day but I dont know if I would like to be in one place with so many people.
This was very helpful, thank you. I am sailing on the Holland Eurodam this coming November and was not aware the room service was free and not to bring extension cord with surge protector. Thank you!
Something that I started to do a few years back is taking adaptors for the outlets. Not a converter that changes the voltage as most cell phone and computer chargers are already dual voltage. I will often charge my laptop or phone on the 220 (UK) outlet freeing up the 110 (North American) outlets for my mom to use. Her electric scooter is also dual voltage so the adapter works there as well.
You two are adorable! Hubby and I are finally going on our honeymoon- transatlantic to NY, up and back on QM2- so I’m always watching your vids. Keep up the fab work!
We did a Baltic Cruise on Norwegian. They wanted $300 usd for a day trip to Berlin, which only included train trip and city tour. We booked a train from the port return to Berlin for approx 50 EUR and a hop on hop off tour for approx 10 EUR each. We left had a great time and had no issues with trains/schedules and were back on the ship 4 hours before sailing. The only one on a Baltic cruise I would say you definitely need it St Petersburg.
That is so true, my first cruise I was so overwhelmed with the crowd. I told my husband this is not what I thought it would be like. I was so disappointed, but by day 2 it was 👌. You guys had me cracking up with Raisins and Currants/ Currents 😁
Love the tips guys !!! :D again massively Informative for us being our first cruise, I think I may have ticked off a lot of your tips from previous vids, I’ve made a military checklist ;)
I got a cabin in midship on the Voyager in February 2021 and I will be on Ovation in March this year and I got my travel insurance and thanks for the heads up on tips for cruise ships
I don’t know if this is still true, but you used to be able to load money from you CC or debit card onto your cruise card in the casino without atm fees. You can then cash out at the casino for cash without extra fees.
Hi Ben and David, I really love your informative and fun cruising tips. I’m going on a cruise in April for two nights. Could you please do a video about how to make the most out of short cruises? Thanks guys, Paul (Australia).
I usually don't trust reviews because I've seen bad reviews and had great personal experiences. Some people just live to nitpick and complain about everything, and those are usually the ones posting the bad reviews, so I take reviews with a grain of salt.
Tunisia , celebrity cruise, co worker grabbed a local cab... they drove 1 hour outside city, and the demanded all their money or else he wouldn’t take them back. It costs more but cruise excursions in “questionable” countries are worth the dollars more and if bus breaks down, cruise will wait. On your own local transport.... get back to boat really early.
I've been watching y'all on and off for a couple of years. I love your take on cruising and the joy with which you approach everything. Now, I'm going to have to be more diligent in watching because I love corny jokes. They never fail to make me laugh. Case in point: Why did the Captain make his crew walk the plank? They said they were BOARD. Eh? Eeehhh? Get it? Lol. Okay I'll stop.
I heard if you ask for allergy sensitive toiletries like body wash, hand soap, etc., the cruise can provide an alternative stateroom toiletries for you. Is that true?
We got room service and as soon as they knocked on the door we took the tray turned around and they was gone they didn’t wait around for a tip. We are going on carnivals pride does it have metal walls because the last Carnival ship we went on did not the selling was the only thing metal?
Can someone explain how eating works on non-norwegian? Like can I not go eat food at 4:00 am? Can I not eat whatever and whenever I want with it all covered by my fare?
Hi Clint. The buffet is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are useally snack outlets also open all day such as a poolside grill or pizza place. Outside of them times room service is available but may be an extra charge
@@ClintonC1991 I've cruised on Carnival, Royal, Disney, Costa, Celebrity. Buffet is open for the breakfast lunch dinner. Main dining rooms used for regular dinner meals, also serve breakfast in the morning. Some cruises have a midnight buffet. All cruises have a venue that offers 24 hour food....usually pizza, paninis, fruits, pastries, dessert.
While the see-saw analogy works, it's not entirely correct. The fulcrum of motion is actually a bit behind center when the ship is moving. However, this is a nit-picky distinction and most mid-ship cabins work fine. ;)
Tipping for dining in your stateroom is customarily 1£€$ PER ITEM! I always tip a minimum of 5£€$. Big tippers get special attention onboard. The staff actually has a code word for generous passengers, and alert other staff. In fact, I always give a generous tip the first day to my cabin steward and will always get special attention. This is above and beyond the automatic gratuities. Cruise ship staff are some of the hardest working people and gratuities are their main source of income.
Agree the room stewards are very hard working, but we don't want " special "attention - the least intrusion for us the better, just want bed made and bathroom cleaned
I was so disappointed when I saw Royal Caribbean doesn't offer free room service! Guess we will have to be those annoying people who come to the buffet and bring their food to their cabin!

Am usually well intoxicated for the muster drill.
I know for next time...
Ha! Me too.😊

When we cruised April 2019 on Ncl, they did have a breakfast option through room service for free. It comes in handy when you have an early excursion!
Jean Mitchell good to know. Going on NCL Joy in May to Alaska and can’t wait!
*only from 7-10 AM. Check the Freestyle daily as these times are subject to change*
Love that you talk at a happy speed and tone 👍
Stay at a hotel that offers reduce prices or free parking. A shuttle to and from the port is also super awesome.

“Absolute Fortune” was my favorite phrase of 2019 and now it’s trending in my head in 2020 :-)
That needs to be on a cruise T Shirt

Does your cruise ticket include transportation like flight ?

Hey Paul. We will add that to our show ideas!
When we go on a cruise we go at least 10 hours before as that always gives us time to get there
Good advice! Too funny! We sail on the Independence of the Seas in a few months!
Have a great time!
Should you still tip if you have pre-paid your gratuities?
Love you guys! We ordered tank tops for our last cruise. Loved them.
Awesome video- thanks! Cruising again soon and would have forgotten my ginger drops otherwise - do you have any DISNEY cruise specific tips?
You guys are great! Love your videos. We are headed on a cruise in March, our second.
We never though about an USB wall plug or metal hooks. Thanks!
Hi, how do I look for the medical insurance you mentioned on this video?
I usually don't trust reviews because I've seen bad reviews and had great personal experiences. Some people just live to nitpick and complain about everything, and those are usually the ones posting the bad reviews, so I take reviews with a grain of salt.
you guys are great! do they supply shower gel and blow dryers in the cabins of independence of the sea ?
Hey Carla, Yes to both.
Any tip for a Cruise Ship that won't pollute as 5.000.000 cars with heavy fuels?
You guys are awesome.
Does travel insurance cover you in the event that you miss your departure on a shore excursion not offered by the cruise?
LJ Jo some do cover missing the cruise departure but I’m not so sure about the excursions.
You would need to check the small print or give your insurance company a call.
@@yeritzamejia5901 they only cover this type of deal when you buy your excursion through the cruise line!! But still check with them to make sure!!
Virgin cruisers, going on virgin, can’t relate to most of these lol. But love your vids and still learned something :) Jay & Ben 🇨🇦🇧🇷
Are you really liking virgin? If so why? Thinking about taking it
