The Coup, Revolution and Nuclear Deals: A History of U.S. Aggression on Iran w/ Prof. Marandi

  • What could be the final effort to resuscitate the Iran nuclear deal will begin this month with negotiators meeting in Vienna. The United States, having violated and destroyed the deal under Trump, is now pushing for new concessions from Iran. This kind of arrogance is nothing new -- it has been the defining feature of U.S. government policy towards Iran going back to the 1953 CIA-sponsored coup and through the 1979 revolution that overthrew the U.S. puppet monarchy. Watch the NEW video edition of “The Real Story” on BreakThrough News!

It is coming to us end. The American nightmare is collapsing before our eyes. Unfortunately for us, it might not be as controlled as the collapse of the British empire; but nonetheless, it will be the best of the available options. Brace for the ride and all the best.

The escaped slave is the perfect analogy. It's been so for centuries in Haiti. Haitians dared to overtake their enslaver, western oppressor. The same stereotypes used by the Occident mentioned here to justify the actions against the Orient, are used against all they oppress.

In my view, it is a matter of religion/belief. In order to fight wars, destroying the lives of millions of people, a government needs support from its people. The best way is to create a God and a Devil. US have always fought the «evil», and painted a picture of themselves as the good guys killing for the right reason. If you dont believe in the Devil, evilness is, just like bad harmonies, a result of bad combinations....and can be «cares» by creating other opportunities .

@@ellengran6814 This is just an idealist mystification of history and human relations. Not one single war is ever fought purely over nebulous abstractions. That just isn't sufficient to motivate human beings to go through all the trouble of killing each other. War, conflict, etc always has a material base that necessitates its use. Idealogy then springs into the world from this, acting in dialogue with the material base that birthed it. But none ever just exist in vacuum, including religions.

@@danieljprice9317 I totall agree. However I guess we disagree in regard to what comes first : the greed or the justification for greed. In order to create an army , you need both. However I believe (and history seems to confirm my belief) greed is a part of human nature which can be controlled if the society reject the justifications.

Both Iran and USA ain't having laws according to human rights - article 3 of Universal Declaration of Human Rights - everyone have right to live. Right for life, and both countries have death penalty. Iran have death penalty even before Islamic revolution, USA also. Iran is punishing gay population on death and have such political executions. Rather then being so explicit, USA also do that with Latino and Afro-American population, when on court everyone from jury to advocate and witnesses, people doing investigations, judge - all are racists. It happends a lot! Especially in states where this penalty is legal, its legal only because referendum on death penalty shown that people want it to stay. Its in the south states. In the Texas and such. Most racist one. Same goes for China. Only European countries abolished it, except Belarus. Eu countries + Serbia and others, including Russia which put moratorium on its death penalty in 1993, just to enter Council of Europe. Their murder rate (murders per 100 000 people) is constantly falling, and fact is that states in USA with death penalty have higher murder rate... That's a fact, idk how. But that's it, wanted to point out both countries don't have human rights. Also I want to point out both are false democracies, and both are directly responsible for many armed conflicts and deaths, both control their media a lot, both are huge consumers of cannabis (one if the rare things Iran and Israel have in common, in Iran its tradition dating before Islam, in Israel its alternative for alcohol in country with huge alcoholism problem... But Iran cannabis is relatively harmless, those are not hybrids people usually consume), lists go on...

William Jarrell. Female emancipation is one thing but placing Iran on the same immoral footing as a predatory malevolent empire that has been a scourge on the planet for the last 75 years is another. Cultures may differ as to what constitutes emancipated women and there is always room for enlightening all cultures including the West but to place Iran on the same deplorable par as the US, Israel, Saudi Arabia or the NATO countries is way off the mark by any stretch of the imagination.
