In this video it's always good to start with the basic Know Your Enemy check your wiring diagram you can see how the system works when we check the wine damn we found the problem very easily and quickly
Greetings from Hungary. Thanks for the video, the issue is finally resolved. I tried a lot of things, but the codes P0443, P0135, P0141 always came back, but based on your video, the small fuse in the engine compartment was also faulty. I replaced it and now everything is fine, no error code. Thanks again for your help.
Excellent teacher, I am very happy you helped me find the cause of the same fault codes and now my car no longer goes out or jerks (CHEVROLET ZAFIRA 2005 1.8 LITERS). Solved .....
Boom sorted Glad my video helps you out mate.
What an absolute bloody pleasure to see proper diagnosis rather than some Digital Darren reading the codes and then just throwing new sensors at it.
Very well done Leon with the diagnostics and explained well! For your viewers who may be interested in the Pulsar unit, it is no longer available and has been discontinued by the manufacturer. I called the manufacturer to see if there was an updated version and there is not. And they do not plan to have another one as he said that the unit did not sell very well. Have a good one!
stuzman it's a shame they are not making any more I think they should have they would definitely sell more I think it's one of them things people don't really know about more people that know about it the more people that want it
bodgit and leggit garage I agree with you Leon that if more people knew about it, they would buy it. It’s a pretty cool tool.
From what I can remember, Kieth at New Level Auto was working on car with the ecotec engine which was running rough. He discovered a blown fuse with the same tool and the engine ran normally. He wiggled the wires and out of line of sight from the camera, saws spark from the wires at the rear of the engine (gearbox end). The wires were rubbed through on the lifting eye because the cables weren’t clipped in. He noticed the spark which highlighted the issue which may have blown the fuse.
Brian Beale hi mate I checked all that couldn't find anything will have to wait and see if it comes back
Well done Leon, take my hat of to you for this diagnosis. Always worse when you can't find the problem. Don't envy you working on these new cars though.
MalcOfLincoln thanks mate
Thanks alot! Been having trouble codes P 0135, P 0141 and P 0443 on my Opel Astra H 2008 since i replaced front exhaust pipe when i had to remove the O2 sensor! After that i cleared the codes all the time but they came back, changed the battery also because i thought it didnt give enough power( it was 7 years old so it had to be done anyway)!
Saw your video reg these troublecodes and had no idea that it could be a fuse but the same fuse nr 26 were blown in my car too!
Replaced it and now lets hope that this was the issue😀
Roger, Sweden
Hope it works for you mate the very mind you could have an issue with one of the parts when you get a lot of codes and it's only one fuse controlling it you always have to look at this year's first but you might find you having issue with one of the part if you do disconnect one paw at a time and see what the fuse does
This was the question?
Just watched the video again Leon, thought it was an xep engine , but its actually an xer.The cam solenoids and electronic thermostat housing share the same fuse , thermostat housings were also common to short.Joe
V4VAUXHALL thanks for that information mate wonder why the wine diagram didn't show that and I did not get any other error surprised and didn't get an error code for the solenoid but I did replace the housing so maybe it could have been an original problem with the thermostat housing I'm going to check the wiring diagram and see why that's not showing up
yes mate, this was so common that the dealers have loads of these left over , and try to sell them as an alternative to the plastic ones fitted to the astra j and insignia , so if they ever try to supply a metal housing for one of these ,kick it back to them. If you happen to have the old housing just ohm out alternate pins to the housing body and I'm sure you will find the short.xep does not have the electric thermostat.Joe
V4VAUXHALL that's exactly what I'm going to do thanks mate
Nice video Leon and Great tips.
Could you please tell me your source of wiring diagrams, as the one you’re using looks nice, simple and easy to follow.
Many thanks, Joe.
Hi mate I work with three of them like everything they're not cheap and one will just not do alldata haynespro autodata
Love this Video Leon! Has the fuse still not blown?
DiagnoseDan yes over a month now still going strong thinking it might be the Old thermostat housing that has shorted
I can't find fuse for maf sensor on my car Chevrolet zafira A 1.8 because my fuse box beside steering inside the car , I hope you can help me tank you 😁
Hi Leon! Great video as always! Would like some more scanner action on your channel😊
Are you happy with the foxwell scanner? Can you actuate fans and stuff with it? Maybe do a little reweiw?
Greetings from the north
Just found your rewiew😁
Exactly how we did it in lawnmower repair school.
Ozzstar 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm not good enough to work on lawn mowers yet
bodgit and leggit garage 😁🤣😁
great video
thanks for sharing
Thank you too
Must have been lucky took 2 Vectra C's with xer engine's past 120000 miles zero issues, most reliable company cars I ever had !
D C hi mate it's like everything depends how it looked after service drove etc etc
bodgit and leggit garage the insignia's that replaced them were utter crap by comparison constant stream of problems, now in Honda zero problems ever not even a bulb!
D C you just been very lucky mate probably one of the worst engines I've ever seen I'm not complaining cuz I've got an awful lot of work from these engines
mines on 140k. still ticks over like a good one. just done timing belt, service. all ready for Blackburn away matches next season.
Wonder how many amps the purge solenoid was pulling. When does the purge solenoid energize on that Opel Leon? Nice video & love the Pulsar.
Hayward's Automotive hi mate it was activated when I originally did it can't remember now but only pulling around 4 amps yes the machine is awesome a real time Saver
This helped a lot !!!!!!
Hi sir. I have opel astra model 2001, 1200 cc the motor has been replaced with 1800 cc , the both o2 sensor has no power o it's heaters, could you help me
Always fun to not find what caused the problem! It will keep you guessing!
The Disgruntled Mechanic 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 checked everything still hasn't come back maybe it's just a waiting game 😂😂😂
Hi Leon . Great uploads always enjoy watching & the time you spend explaining the repair / Well my wifes car a 2002 vw golf mk4 gti has the management light on in fairnes all was good until she went into a pot hole that was so deep that keeping fish in it would not have been a problem anyhow i have found a code scanner on the internet a VS450 obd11 for VAG at just shy of £30 any advice would be appreciated is it the right one ?i did message seller he sent me back his CV?? rather than if it would work on the car i usually do all the repairs on the car that involves getting my trolley jack out and old clothes and getting dirty but never tackled this problem .keep the uploads coming cheers gary
Gary Foster hi mate personally I've never used that one but I know there is really good ones out there for that sort of money so I wouldn't be surprised if it will do what you need they are good at reading codes that that's about it but at least if you get a code you will have some sort Direction on where to go
bodgit and leggit garage Cheers leon . Well ive cleaned the maff sensor & throttle body already . I will purchase the code reader and then have the exact code problem and hopefully it might well be a problem i have now hopefully now addressed already cheers Garry
Gary Foster let me know if you get it sorted mate all the best
Great vid Leon 👍good diagnostic process
Vdubs 60 thanks mate
Leon have came across this quite a lot will prob be a short on the harness that feeds the rear o2 mate.take care Joe
V4VAUXHALL hi mate I check that couldn't find anything it's still going over a month will have to wait and see if it comes back
good vid leon you have defo saved someone money . if its a corsa its fuse 33 on 2002 lol live data is key
Simon Rawle yes mate definitely live data and a good wine diagram you can tell a lot from
Is it a MAP or a MAF Leon? 😜
Great video. Thx 👍
Dylan thanks mate I am saying MAF😁😁😁
Nice video mate. Always enjoy your videos. Hopefully it wont be back soon!
Alastair Munro it's been gone over a month and still no come back😁😁😁
leon can you tell me were you get your wiring diagrams from thanks mate
Hi mate I get them from a lot of different places and unfortunately most people think they are free but they are not they cost thousands of pounds a year ear all data is one autodata is another one haynespro also I get them from the manufacturers ports via their websites it just depends what car I'm doing and what I need
Out of interest, where are you getting the wiring diagram? Autodata? It would just be handy.
jim macdonald hi mate I pay for my and a yearly description about £1,500 a year
Would the fuse number be the same in a 2008 corsa 1.3 cdti? I'm getting a po100 code I replaced the air flow sensor but am still getting same code 😕 it's getting on my nerves now haha 😊
Lol it's hard to say because you could have exactly the same car as the one I've got in the video and the fuse be in a different place the easiest thing to do is get your manuals out and you're fuse location should be in your driver's manual
@@bodgitandleggitgarage OK thanks il av another look tomorrow it won't beat me haha
@@claireroberts4351 lol boom
it's a bit annoying that there is no obvious cause of the popped fuse :-(, but the engine you repaired is fine and dandy :-D :-D.
If the fuse pops again, you might rig up a small fuse for each sensor, catch the little sod blowing raspburys at you lol.
zx8401ztv yes mate always annoying but a lot happened to this car before I received it so you just don't know what happened as regards if it pops again the machine I use means I don't have to wire up separate this machine will do everything for me and monitor the amps going through the circuit if I unplug and plug and back in this machine for monitor everything for me
Oh it's one of those cars lol, i've had electronic repairs that bounced back and there was evidence of tampering.
Owners fingers where they should not be.
Keep up the good work mate :-D
Whats the technical name of the oil going through the wires?
Great vid Leon, used to work at an Opel dealer crappy cars as hell😁
armando nika hi mate there is a few but essentially it's capillary reaction
Yeah had this oil issue myself, I was told it was due to the oil pressure switch pushing oil through the whole loom a year later engine light p0350 code so hopefully just means a bad o2 sensor
i have a vauxhall astra 1.8 from 2004 and i get P0100 code error, i can check the fuze/clean maf or replace maf ... what do you think ?
you will need to check it with live data you will need to check your wiring and also check your your ECU and check you've got no leaks in your system
Leon, you should move over to the states. You'd fit right in.
alanryderb lol
The coolant level looks bit low :D
Dom's Garage 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm from Malaysia
It's always better to come second ;)
Benjamin Hughes all depends what mood I'm in😂😂😂😂
Good video mate
Phil Long thanks mate
1st! now back to video!
The Disgruntled Mechanic BOOM
Love me some blown fuses 😋
New Level Auto 😁😁😁
👍💪
The mech a nic 😁😁😁thank mate
That’s basically the same as the Chevy Aveo
These are the worst kind of repairs you can’t fix what you can’t recreate
Jay Sosa yes mate I always have pain
😂😂 pulls out special gadget... Any multimeter is capable of that just put a 10 amp fuse inline.
