This lesson is so useful for me. I speak many languages but english is my black point, as we say in French 😅 by the way, I'm going to visit my bestfriend in January, who lives in London, for the first time since he moved. And he is very flamboyant 😂 I am more grouchy than him, maybe aloof but not grumpy, and we both are very broad-minded. I hope this trip will help me to improve my English skills, and that we'll enjoy our time together and with the Londonians !!! Here are my good and bad personality adjectives. If I have to describe myself in a positive way I’d say I am rather tactful ; I like to choose carefully my words in order to not hurt my entourage . I am vivacious particularly in summer holidays when the weather is sunny and confortable. I am quite tenacious when I encounter difficulties. I am also meticulous which helps a lot to assess problems and conscientious or diligent whenever I need to invest myself . People say I am board-minded . And finally I can be very affable with the rare friends I have. On the other hand , ( here is the part of myself people dislike 👎 ) I can be very aloof , sometimes haughty but never pugnacious. I am rather rebellious against close authority by this I mean managers or bossy people. Sometimes I have a tendency to be grouchy or grumpy particularly when I hear 👂 something I despise. My personality can be melancholic. And finally I am rarely sulky but It can happen. I see you both very courteous, tactful ( obviously) , also jovial and witty sometimes . This is all I can say because I don’t know you further .

You are, along with Etienne Klein, Aurélien Barrau and David Louapre, my favorite UA-camr and believe me, that is not the least compliment !!! ... I'd be totally unable to do what you're doing. Regarding the contentious detail, I want you to be sure that there was no pedantry on my part. I even tried to put a little humour in my answer to show that deeply, I don't care that you did that tiny awkwardness I would not have even raised if the fella Ramela hadn't pointed it out. I would say that it was just my probably excessive requirement of rigour but above all "desire for truth" which made me intervene. As a teacher, I know you will get what I mean. Deep down in my heart, my sweetie, I hope you didn't take offense and are not grumpy and sulky because you know, I'm very very far from being perfect. Don’t worry at all! I think it is a debated point amongst teacher as well. The typo in the video might have confused it - it should say Leila and I’s personalities. I was brought up to always say ‘X and I’ - perhaps where both are not the subject you can say x and me like it is for Leila and me but it still doesn’t sound correct. Perhaps it is the more formal version.

In your sentence: 'Leila and I' = us ... is not the subject !!! My argumentation is that you can't (in no way) mix the subjective case and the objective case! (direct or indirect objects or object of a preposition). In your request, we are clearly in the objective case; you describe someone or something. You can't say 'try to describe Leila and I' just like you can't say 'try to describe her and I' especially because in the latter you mix 'her' (objective case) with 'i' (subjective case). That is actually grammatically correct - i is the subject pronoun and ‘me’ is a possessive pronoun or object pronoun so that is why is must be ‘I’ .

This lesson is so useful for me. I speak many languages but english is my black point, as we say in French 😅 by the way, I'm going to visit my bestfriend in January, who lives in London, for the first time since he moved. And he is very flamboyant 😂 I am more grouchy than him, maybe aloof but not grumpy, and we both are very broad-minded. Here are my good and bad personality adjectives.
If I have to describe myself in a positive way I’d say I am rather tactful ; I like to choose carefully my words in order to not hurt my entourage . I am vivacious particularly in summer holidays when the weather is sunny and confortable. I am quite tenacious when I encounter difficulties. I am also meticulous which helps a lot to assess problems and conscientious or diligent whenever I need to invest myself . People say I am board-minded . And finally I can be very affable with the rare friends I have.
On the other hand , ( here is the part of myself people dislike 👎 ) I can be very aloof , sometimes haughty but never pugnacious.
I am rather rebellious against close authority by this I mean managers or bossy people.
Sometimes I have a tendency to be grouchy or grumpy particularly when I hear 👂 something I despise. My personality can be melancholic. And finally I am rarely sulky but It can happen.
I see you both very courteous, tactful ( obviously) , also jovial and witty sometimes . This is all I can say because I don’t know you further .

I'd be totally unable to do what you're doing. Regarding the contentious detail, I want you to be sure that there was no pedantry on my part. I even tried to put a little humour in my answer to show that deeply, I don't care that you did that tiny awkwardness I would not have even raised if the fella Ramela hadn't pointed it out. I would say that it was just my probably excessive requirement of rigour but above all "desire for truth" which made me intervene. As a teacher, I know you will get what I mean. Deep down in my heart, my sweetie, I hope you didn't take offense and are not grumpy and sulky because you know, I'm very very far from being perfect. Though I like pamphlet, controversy, wit, irony or even some sarcasm which in my opinion have given rise or give rise among the greatest masterpieces of writing, I still consider humbleness as one of the greatest quality; I absolutely hate arrogance above all. Faith or belief can be arrogant, the one which claims to own the absolute Truth and impose it to the others but it can be beautiful and respectable too if personal, deep and genuine. The true science (and a true scientist) can't be anything but humble because it (he) knows that its (his) 'truth' is only provisional and represents nothing else and more but the best knowledge we have of something ... for the moment!... I'm absolutely convinced, as I'm not a native, that if you read carefully my comments, you would find plenty of mistakes! (that you have the kindness and delicacy to not point out) I try to minimize them of course to show respect to You and to the British language that I love, and because somehow I kinda want you to be proud of me. For the grammar rule I raised, you must be reassured: I've read that plenty of very educated people (univ. level like you) do the error! Myself, I for sure make a few ones in my language especially when speaking (probably less in writing). You know how French is horrendously complicated when it comes to grammar!.. It is no accident if, unlike in England as far as I know, we learn it deeply and specifically during the 9 years of the lowest classes (from CP to 3ème) and still afterwards. And yet, after that, few people achieve to really and totally master it ! ... And that's very true, believe me! Even college educated people, including me, continue to have hesitations and make mistakes. Being aware of that should relativise things and reassure everybody!...
So yes, I feel ashamed. On the other hand, if I am right regarding the rule and you can't prove me wrong, I hope you will understand that I just can't abdicate. Just as William Wallace, I won't abjure in the face of the Saint Inquisition of Grammar (that would be in the wandering) and I will go facing my grammatical death. Don’t worry at all! I think it is a debated point amongst teacher as well. The typo in the video might have confused it - it should say Leila and I’s personalities. I was brought up to always say ‘X and I’ - perhaps where both are not the subject you can say x and me like it is for Leila and me but it still doesn’t sound correct. Perhaps it is the more formal version.

In your sentence: 'Leila and I' = us ... is not the subject !!! My argumentation is that you can't (in no way) mix the subjective case and the objective case! (direct or indirect objects or object of a preposition). In your request, we are clearly in the objective case; you describe someone or something. You can't say 'try to describe Leila and I' just like you can't say 'try to describe her and I' especially because in the latter you mix 'her' (objective case) with 'i' (subjective case). You have to say: ' Try to describe Leila and me' or 'try to describe her and me' and NOT 'her and I' !! Which is a grammatical heresy! Do not forget that the holy inquisition has its eyes on you lol!
