I am very grateful of you for teaching me sketchup, Its a great help for people like me where we dont have any shools for learning 3D specially architectural things. Its very kind of you. Thank You Sir
1:19:00 happens to me all the time. And I mean all the time. Impressive how chill and Calm he is.... But seriously, reload the scene, save the sketchup file and even restart the program or entire computer doesn't help. I wish Layout will be better in the future.
If your keyboard drops out again, try using the on-screen keyboard. I did this with my Microsoft Surface, and confirmed that my keyboard (although still physically attached as before) had become disconnected from my machine. This happened when I switched input to the pen to trace a contour line with the freehand line tool. I saved my work with the on-screen keyboard. Then I closed and restarted. I think I'm remembering that didn't work, and so I disconnected and reconnected my keyboard physically, and that did the trick. I am not sure if both were required, and I have not had the same error again, so keep an eye out. (CaReful aRound piRates that think they'Re punny too.) Maybe it'll happen again, and you can let us know what you've found. (Maybe you already have, and I still just have a lot of (s) catchin' up to do! :) Cheers!
By the way am confused from day one i watched this lesson as newly skp annual subscriber from the campus lesson, because you skip the most important part of the modelling process as you said exactly, and i can't understand how you did that by taking 2D views from skp of a 3D model into layout through scenes. How did you make all those scenes in 2D form in Skp instead you make them in 2D form in the layout?
With all due respect, Layout doesn't cut it for construction documentation. I have been drawing for 57 years, first on paper and for the last 31 years using a 2D Cadd program (PowerCadd). Yes Layout has some wizzy little features like the page number but you can not draw in 2D with it which is a must for producing documentation. One major problem is you have people creating LayOut who have no experience in drawing. Layout is a slug when it comes to speed. I love SketchUp and it is one of my basic tools, I make construction models of the building, but the documentation of plans, elevations, sections and details is done in 2D, I do export these views from SketchUp in .dwg files and use as a template to work over. Yes Layout works for preliminary design presentation but that is it. I would like to show you what a set of properly documented drawing look like as opposed to what you produce with LayOut.
I'm coming back to this stream over and over again, it's extremely good in many ways and it's such a releave to see I'm not the only one running in to the Layout connected problems. Talking about finding the answers in the forum doesn't help much since Sketchup always require the model and all the hardware data and through that very few matters are addressed and solved. Sketchup itself has been better and better over the years, but layout getting worse with every single new edition. It's like the new features collide with each other and crashes the program and/or makes it extremely slow. Thanks again for this very nice and well done stream.
Tyson, you explain very well. I have 2 questions, 1. What kind of Plugins do you use? 2. Entity Info - For me, Sketchup Pro, I only have a window on the right with Entity info, only the size and that's it. Scenes, Components, Styles, and others cannot be grouped. And everyone has very little information ... On Windows 10, it was ok. They could be grouped, but on Mac I can't find a solution. Can you help me? Thank you in advance,
Both Tyson and Aaron are showing SketchUp on a Mac. The tab bar on Windows works differently from the floating windows in Mac. For more information look into the Default Tab Bar in SketchUp for Windows.
@@SketchUp Correct. AND I work on Mac. The problem is that the window on the right with Entity Info, SketchUp Model, Pages, Layers, Instructor and others, grouped together, does not exist for me. Those functions on his Mac are grouped together. Look at the minute 31:23 ua-cam.com/video/WU0sXFVHAZc/v-deo.html Here is the problem.

Yet we have to deep dive into BIM age with different workflow to build, construct or assemble. 2D Cad is no way to help us to go along with BIM age

Brilliant, now I'm off to check out the Campus Layout Course...
Can you tell me which make and model of mouse was used in this video? Looks like an unusual design
@@davidinnes9678 Not sure why you've asked me but it looks like Tyson was using a Logitech MX Vertical Advanced Ergonomic Mouse in the video...
really ? over 2h, wow
Would be better if Tyson could be left alone and not interrupted so much.
thank you very nice work
