My father in the 1980s went into a gun shop in Santa Rosa, Ca and there in their display case was a antique Colt engraved Pinkerton Panel gun in museum condition ....he beat out the Texas Rangers who were in transit to purchase the pistol.....he paid $12,000 after they doubled the price in a matter of one hour....true story!
The Walkers blew up not because of too much powder, but because the shooter put the Hershey kiss shaped slug in backwards. Colt knew that, and in the Dragoons that shape bullet was dropped.
Could these guns be fired ? I would have to fire one of I owned it or would really want to. I suppose they could be but that would reduce their value I suppose

Quality, rarity, desirability.
Museum pieces now, not to be shot. I enjoy seeing them but don't want one. I would want yo shoot it every week and that's a no no with these.
