- In this video, I capture two targets, one with the Askar FRA 400 and 2600 mc pro using the ASIAIR and one with the obsey rig, the Esprit120ED with the 2600mm pro using NINA. See how they come out. Please subscribe for more, if you like content like this! Thanks for watching and clear skies!

Hi Simon, beautiful images nicely put together, your early imaging location reminds me of a location my brother and I used to visit near Warminster Wilts, he was really into the UFO stuff, the town being famous for it, he also living there during the flap in the 60s/70s, although both keen on astronomy and me being younger I had the more rational approach😁, but have to say he was still a devil on the violin. As it happens I to was recently imaging the North America Neb, but using 2 panels in Nina 585MC & 62ED, a bit close, but showing interesting detail in the selected areas. Atb regards Tom.
@@astrostufftomtrubridge7915 Hi Tom, thanks for watching mate! Interesting story about the ufo’s😀Hope your North American Nebula came out well! Appreciate the support 👍Clear skies
Nice captures on a short night. That Cygnus Wall looks GREAT!
@@HeavenlyBackyardAstronomy Thanks Pat😀 Nights are sort, but getting longer now! Thanks for watching and clear skies 👍
Great video Simon, really helpful with Pixinsight use! Thanks button pressed!!!
@@jeremyhigginson9307 Thanks so much Jeremy 😀That’s much appreciated and glad you liked it👍
Clear skies!
Lovely image of the North America nebula, Simon and like your new intro. Clear skies.
@@robinhoward6447 Thanks very much Robin, much appreciated 👍
Beautiful couple of images there Simon, and another great video…👍🏻
@@Astro_Shed Thanks Stuart! Much appreciated mate👍
Great video Simon, I especially like the processing part...great images too!
@@bedfordbeds Thank you! Glad you liked it👍
Excellent mate. The only time I wish I was a Southerner is in summer when we get no darkness this time of year hahahaha
@@davekemp750 Lol Thanks Dave👍😀
Great video Simon. And a couple of excellent images- especially liked the North American Nebula.
@@LogansAstro Thanks Logan! It’s been a while to be able to get anything! I started that in May and we’re nearly into July! Hopefully some clear skies to come for us all🤞
Enjoyed that, Simon - loved the images and nice to see you out doing star trails too - nothing like the sounds of nature at night. 👍
@@nightscapejournals Thanks Paul! Nice to get out, and my local church was a great setting for a stair trail! I had a good teacher 😀👍 Thanks for watching mate and clear skies!
Great work mate, love the images and the epic intro
Cheers Glenn, glad you liked it👍 Clear skies
Glad no damage was done to the rails mate I were like what the hell was that when I heard it lol, loved the beginning when you were walking to the church listening to the Song Thrush singing & the other birds to lovely. Great images as usual mate clear skies!!
@@dumpydalekobservatory Thanks Tich! I do that walk a lot mate, so nice round there! Yeah, that bang made me jump! I thought wtf was that🤣 Just a broken handle! Light still works! Cheers mate, clear skies!
Brilliant editing and final images Simon
Thanks Tony, much appreciated mate as always 👍
Excellent video and images Simon. These light nights are a pain in the you-know-what. Looking forward to the late nights coming back, up here in Scottishland imaging anything to the north is basically a waste of time as the sky is so bright. Having said that when winter does finally arrive I'll probably be moaning wishing it was summer again🤣
@@petesastrophotography lol, thanks Pete😀 I know the feeling! We moan about the light nights, but I also love the summer! That’s probably due to being a builder, I hate building in the winter!! Can’t win them all👍 Cheers mate & Clear skies!
That intro was really cool!
Entertaining video (as usual), keep up the good work Simon.

@@SimonsAstro im looking to upgrade my mount to a SW HEQ5 Pro from the Star adventurer gti it was good to start with but of course the more you expand the heavier you get and im at the max payload and having trouble with tracking so thats plans for the moment, i have a Zwo asi585MC non cooled and it takes great images id like to upgrade to a cooled camera one of these days
Great video simon.
@@richardmadley7455 Thanks Richard 👍
The Intro!!! glad to see you getting some image time even if the nights are short. Good thing is, nights are getting longer again. Great images Simon!
@@AZ4Runner Thanks Jason! It’s been a while mate, but yeah, past the longest day now😀 Glad you liked the new intro! Clear skies mate👍
Thanks!
@@holbunch Thanks very much👍
your cable management is excellent. The Esprit setup especially. I have a similar setup (120, QHY268M, but an Eagle 5) and the Eagle makes cable management difficult because the Eagle cables are so long.
@@beatsntoons Thank you! Very similar setup, the QHY268M is a nice camera! Not familiar with the Eagle! It’s nice not having too many cables trailing everywhere 😀 Thanks for watching 👍
Ah sorry about the light mate, something always happens eh. Nicely done and epic Intro
@@OlliesSpace Thanks Ollie mate! Whoever said this hobby was easy was having me on🤣 Clear skies!
Thanks
@@davekemp750 Thanks so much Dave! Very generous mate😀👍
Great video Simon and great final images as usual. I've got a very similar set-up to your portable rig in this video, just got a Pegasus PowerBox today in the post - do you just run that straight out of the Jackery and then run the ASIAir+ and mount off the power box? I tried running my HEQ5-PRO off the DC ports of my Jackery 500 and found the lower voltage caused my guiding to go wildly off so had to resort to using the mains plug of the Jackery with an AC to DC adapter.
@@djlr1g10 Thanks so much Daniel👍
Yeah, my Jackery 500 powers the Pegasus power box Advance, and that powers everything! I’ve never had a problem with it, not even when it used to run the EQ6R Pro, before I put it in the obsey! The battery lasts a full imaging session and usually has 40-50% power left in the morning! Hope that helps mate! Thanks for watching and clear skies👍
Interesting. I use Sharp Cap Pro for all my software needs.
@@AmatureAstronomer Thanks👍 I’ve not used sharp Cap yet! I really should give that a go!
Great video!!! I need to know where you got that mounting system for your portable image set-up? The Green Losmandy(?) pieces. Could you supply a link please?
@@holbunch Thanks so much mate👍
Yeah, I’ll get that link for you and put it in the description below, check back in a day or so, can’t do it right now but leave it with me👍

Do you have set off plans for your observatory? Thank you
@@alangriffiths1432 Hi Alan, sorry I don’t! It was bespoke built on site and I adapted it during the build! If I can help with any suggestions, please ask👍 Clear skies
Hi Simon, great content ! QQ I have a 120 Esprit and considering putting a 65mm APO on top, any steer plates or weight limit to consider? Thanks !
@@astrodad-simonb277 Hi Simon, thanks mate, the only weight limit will be on the mount you’re using! My EQ6 holds all my gear with no problems! You should only use approx half of the max payload the mount can hold, to be on the safe side👍 Thanks for watching & Clear skies!
@@SimonsAstro Thanks mate ! Its an EQ6 R Pro so well within the limit, I was a little concened about putting the 65mm APO on the tube rings of the 120,so can will give it a go - thanks for the advice mate - best Simon
