Hope everyone is doing well.
When I have an art block and don't know what to draw next, I usually redraw artwork by artists I like. Or sometimes redraw some scenes frome my favourite anime series. And on top of that.. a scene from Studio Ghibli.. Nothing is more relaxing than recreating a Studio Ghibli scenes. I believe it can help you to escape from art block and laziness. Hope that this video could bring some joy to you guys because we really need to spend our precious time doing things we love doing. I truly enjoyed painting this bakery scene and loved watching the movie as well.
I sincerely hope that you liked this painting as I really worked very hard on this one ! It took me quite long to finish this piece but I’m immensely proud of the final result !

Wooooooow That looks amazing. I would totally buy that piece I love all the Studio Ghibli Movies. But Kiki's Delivery Service holds a special place in my heart as it was my very first Studio Ghibli Movie I watched as a child and the rest is history.

It's beautiful, I timely get stressed out, like how i'm not improving and just didn't draw for months, but watching you, your proportions are very perfect especially the way you draw a character exactly as original, Iam unable to find any faults, you do shadow highlights with so ease, the way you do things also inspired me to pick my pencils, colours once again,

Kiki's Delivery Service is one of my favorite anime movies. And this is one of my favorite scenes from that movie. I recently built the paper model of this exact scene (made by the Sankei company of Japan). I improved the model be adding "glass" to the counter cabinet front. It reflects the light just as your painting shows. Wonderful painting!

@@meecoart My work is nothing special. I built many plastic models over the years, mainly for model railroads. However, I never built a paper model before and thought I might try it. I enjoyed it a lot. The little laser-cut 3-D diorama kit is in a very small scale, with its base only about 2 inches or 5 centimeters square. You can see it and many more dioramas and other models on the Sankei company's website. Kiki must be very popular as they offer some 20 diorama kits of different scenes from the movie. They also make diorama kits for other Ghibli anime including My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, etc. Stay well.
@@thomaslevy2119 Oh, I just looked at the Sankei company's website and saw the diorama kits that recreate scenes from the Ghibli anime, and they look great!! 😲With so many small details, I bet the person who made it must be very patient. Your work is amazing!! 😍
@@meecoart I am 66 years old and only recently discovered Ghibli anime. Kiki was the first DVD I bought (used) and I fell in love with her character, story, and artwork. The backgrounds are so finely detailed and sharp that they looked more like paintings than cartoons. Much different than Disney. I also appreciated the countless hours of extra work it took the anime artists to make the backgrounds and characters look so good. As you probably know, unlike an ordinary painting, animation requires characters to be drawn and painted hundreds of times in slightly different poses to give the illusion of movement on film. It is a shame that hand-drawn animation has been superseded by CG. Did you know Ghibli is opening a theme park in Japan with life-sized recreations of the buildings and locations from many of its movies? Wish I could go!

Hand-drawn animation make me feel more relaxed when watching, I tend to re-watch old animated movies more than new movies coming out now. Oh my god is there really such a park in japan? When I don't know this, I want to go to Japan, I really like their festivals and foods. And now after hearing this, I want to go there even more 😭

I need to rewatch this Studio Ghibli movie! 😍 I have been wanting to paint this with watercolor but until now I didn't because as you mentioned there's a lot of small details and different shades of colors but you did a great job and you paint so well, it is amazing and beautiful! ✨🤗
