- Two of my favorite platforms, the CZ75 P01 and the Glock 19 are both excellent performers in the realm of defensive pistols. The CZ75 P01 is the sidearm of the choice for the Czech Republic police and the Glock is used by several LE and military units around the world. In this video, I am shooting the CZ 75 P01 and the Glock 19M side by side at the range to determine if one out performs the other. I also perform a table top review of the CZ P01 and the Glock 19 to show what differences there are between the two offerings. Both are great pistols and you'll have to watch the full review and comparison to see which 4" pistol is best.

Excellent video as always. The CZ P01 is good out of the box, it don't need any upgrades. However, if you install the $30 MCARBO spring kit, it lightens the DA and SA pull by about 30%.

I just bought a CZ shadow 2 few weeks ago. It is probably the nicest handgun I have ever shot. Big fan CZ, Glock, and sig.
All three are great, but there is something to be said for the CZ shadow series, it’s on another level in terms of performance.

Great review. Cajun Gun Works has added a lot of new services other than the trigger system upgrade to the CZ line. On my P01 I had the RMR and slide cuts along with barrel crowning & bushing replacement. The P01 now shoots like a competition Shadow 2 now.

I’m thinking of getting my P-01 and P-07 cajunized, I just wish their turn around times were shorter. How long did it take to get yours back?
@@2aTommy It was just under 3 months. You first have to send them an email to be added to the list, and it was around a month's wait before they are ready to receive the firearm.

Love it! I believe I've commented before that your shooting is exceptional! I began my journey as a shooter about a year and a half ago, and the P-01 and G19 are my first two pistols (I have to live in Commiefornia for work, but at least both of these pistols are on the handgun roster here!). If you can believe it, Los Angeles finally has a sheriff who's beginning to issue CCW permits, and I've been leaning more toward the P-01 as my permit gun, mostly for its additional layers of safety and overall sexier looks. I'm also looking at the Springfield EMP 1911 since I have smaller hands and am generally more comfortable on single stacks. Would love to see you do a review on that one (or offer me your thoughts on it if you have shot it!).

CZ P01 is my choice for sure. Just got back from the range with my P09 w/optic and SP01 Tac. They are amazing and CZ has me as a customer for life.

Great video, and great channel. Subscribed. I noticed several months before this video you were shooting and possibly carrying a 2011. How was it for you transitioning between striker fired, SAO and DA/SA? Just wondering if you had any issues or any other input on that. Thanks
Thanks and welcome to the channel. It doesn’t bother me to transition between the three major pistol actions, the key is to practice with all three and going from to the next is like transitioning from pistol to rifle to shotgun…it becomes second nature. Take care.

I love my P-01. It lives in my nightstand helping me sleep at night. I did have a trigger return spring failure. After doing a ton of practice shooting laser targets the longer leg on the spring snapped off. I replaced it with a Cajun Works spring and it has been fine since. 👍

Always use snap caps or dummy rounds for dry fire
If you CCW and your issuing agency doesn’t allow non manufacturers modifications, just keep shooting . My P-01 is stock except Lok Grips and CZC sights. I’ve got a little less than 10,000 rounds through it. The trigger pull both lightens and smooths out tremendously after 4,000 rounds and levels out at 7. No, it’s not as as light as a customized gun with CGW and CZC parts. I have a tricked out SP-01 for USPSA and it’s amazing , but too light for self defense. That being said , I recently started carrying a Glock 19. The lack of beaver tail and slight reduction in weight makes a big difference in comfort. It’s not as intuitive or joyful to shoot , but it’s easier to carry. It’s not as accurate as the P-01 , but it’s good enough. Talon grips, sights and a new connector is all I did. People win competitions with stock Glocks. It’s the arrow , not the Indian .
I have had better reliability with my CZ pistols than any other hand gun I own. My glocks are great too but I’ve found even better reliability any the trigger and ergos are so much better sooo it’s a no brainer to me.

Do the profiles fit similarly for a CC option? CZ full aluminum frame sounds taxing for edc.
Hey have you ever had to make any changes to the p01? Which production year do you have? I’ve seen threads/videos/forums where there’s an issue affecting 2016+ P-01 omega models where the decocker/safety walks out on them. Ive been doubting on purchasing for this reason but was very ready to buy and whether I want the CZ P01 or a Staccato C2
I’ve only changed the grips on mine and haven’t had any issues. I bought it new a year or so ago, though I don’t know the exact year it was produced. The Staccato is a better performing gun for sure, I have several videos on it, but that comes at a high price point. I honestly find myself carrying the P01 much more often.
I've got two p09s I've replaced the trigger return with the cajun version no issues with the original but I figured I might as well they are great shooters I like glock plenty I just shoot the cz better for some reason
What shot timer are you using? Thats some great shooting by the way!
Competition Electronics..I recommend picking up a shot timer if you don’t have one, it’ll change the way you shoot.
The spring can be a problem however Cajun gun works makes a spring that you can run for 10-12,000 rounds beat the daylights out of it and it will never break
I haven’t had any trouble out of my Omega, but I will be getting the Cajun just to be proactive… I heard similar testimonies from other folks..thanks

Thanks O-So-Marvelous. It’s my grip man, it’s super high and tight which helps with shooting flat but it often keeps the slide lock from doing its job. I typically try to use the slide lock and definitely prefer it if it engages, but a lot of times it doesn’t on certain pistols.

Great video. I learned on Glock and starting to switch over to CZ. Picked up the SP01 and converting it into SAO for range toy. Want to pick up the tactile for USPSA Production. I’m selling my 43xmos for the the P01 Omega. Getting no expensive. Haha. What did you mean by longevity you give it to Glock?
Nice, some folks have complained about the factory installed trigger return springs in different hammer fired CZs breaking over time. I haven’t experienced it, but spring wear is a known issue.

My P01 and PCR are my two top choice CCW guns of all time. I got rid of all my Striker fired guns in favor of DA/SA as I view it alot safer for carrying, not just for holstering, but depending on the defensive situation you may have to draw at bad breath distance, and I like the safety of Double Action if I need to use hand to hand fighting for a weapon if it comes down to it.
at around 13 minutes when shooting string with the p01 it looked like slide did not lock back when you had to do the reload. Did you eject mag with a round in chamber or did the gun malfunction?
Because of my high grip, I often prevent the slide lock from engaging with palm…happens all the time for me with all makes and models.
@@shootersresourcechannel642 completely understandable....i just got a little disheartened at first when I saw that happen on a p01. I have one of em myself and I hold it near and dear to my heart. I hate it when I see pistols I own have malfunctions...for some reason it makes me trust them alittle less even though its not happening on my particular gun. So im glad it wasnt a failure to lockback...at least not one that was a mechanical issue
@@broot1375 understood, no worries, it happens with all of the pistols I’ve ever shot, sigs, 1911s, H&Ks, etc.
All manufacturers guns have and will malfunction. They are machines. As long as it is few and far b/w you are fine

Excellent comparison. Both are great firearms. No doubt for those who practice with what they have they will master that gun well. These to guns will not disappoint. I have had Glocks & CZs. Is an omega more dangerous than otherwise?
What irons do you recommend for the p01?
I typically go with night sights. I know Trijicon and MEPROLIGHT make them for CZ75 series. If you want to for the best range sight for speed and accuracy then a front fiber optic and black works best..Dawson Precision makes a good set.

Just realized the Glock did the same thing....slide not locking back. Im going to assume you are riding the slide stop to prevent slide locking back for testing purposes?
Just a grip technique problem I have.
Gripping high helps me shoot faster, but also cases my palm to block the slide lock some times.
I have a Glock 19 5th gen I shoot all the time. I’m deadly accurate with it. Today I rented the CZP01 regular model, you could tell it had thousands of thousands of rounds through it. I like to shoot at 75ft (25yrds) and both were identical in accuracy. The recoil is a bit lighter on the CZ, however the slide does sit a bit higher as where the Glock 19 is more aligned with your arm when aiming, so Glock was easier to control after firing a shoot in a sense that your grip stays solid. With CZ you really have to pay attention to your grip because it tends to get loosened up even with lighter recoil feel, then again this could improve with more practice. Ergonomically the CZ felt good in the hand, better than the Glock 19? I’m not quite sure. Both felt great. one thing that stood out that many don’t pay attention to is the sights, the CZ sights are precise sure, but the Glock sights are the classic white with sort of wider range of motion that needs to be aligned when aiming. This makes them easier to acquire quickly, but less precise to the feel when trying to land 75ft shots, but if I was in a life death situation and not so distant range, I would say the Glock will acquire the sights easier and I feel they would be more visible in low light conditions. The CZ sights are great, metallic, but require you to really dial in your focus when trying to aim quick. in terms of size both are nearly identical. If it was me I would carry CZ chambered because I would feel very secure with the first trigger pull in double action taking 10+ pounds of force, and a Glock I would carry unchambered, just my preference of course. I feel CZ is great if you have other guns, as this one is fun to shoot, double action is fun to practice, it’s unique. The Glock is just screaming reliability and proof of function in the field with almost any law enforcement. With that said I might buy the CZP01, but if I do… I will rotate and carry both. Cheers
Never heard of trigger springs breaking. I have thousands of rounds through multiple cz with no problems at all
I don't even have a DA/SA CZ, and even I have found mention of them breaking during my research.

The P-01 has a lower bore axis. The Omega version you have there isn't de cocker only, you can change it up to either safety or de cocker.
Pre Covid, I could find a Glock 19 G5 anywhere for under $600. I could not find a CZ P01 anywhere except on Gunbroker, and then for over $600. The Glock is an industrial design throw away. You can find them anywhere. The CZ is a unicorn, here today, sold out tomorrow. The CZ is the High School Beauty Queen. The Glock is the Tomboy track athlete, not ugly but by no means beautiful. Scratch the Glock, no big deal. Scratch the CZ and cry like a baby.

You are right there my CZ 75 BD Police doesn't yet have a broken part and I have the damn thing since the year 2000 it has thousands of rounds through it - 7 malfunctions since I've had it. The only thing that irks me is that awful finish CZ put on that gun it's flaking off like crazy 😢. I should ceracote the thing but us here at Eastern Europe are poor and stingy as church mice😂

The CZ beats the Glock in the "paint not rubbing off the slide stop in the first 200 rounds" department for sure. I mean what kind of crap paint is Glock using on their slide stops?

Own a CZ 75 BD 9mm and a Glock 45 5 Generation 9mm. Don't favor one really that much over the other. 5th Gen Glocks are more accurate than previous and have an actual lockup making them more accurate. The CZ 75 BD is all steel, cutting down on recoil and it has a far more ergonomic grip. I've made my own very slight mods to both to help mainly with the grip of both. Both shoot great at normal distances but, if it were a shtf situation like Biden is trying to cause and I was in a situation getting back to my family with liberal idiots running around causing havoc then I would take the CZ due to it being a better long distance hand gun than the Glock.

For reliability there is no question, the Glock is better. Sorry fanboys, that is a fact. I have several guns and the P01 is the least reliable for me. Guns that I've never had an issue with: Any Glock, VP9, P320 but I only own 7 handguns, I'm not a professional. Just telling my experience.
Take the damn lights off the pistols. You might carry with one on your weapon, but most concealed carry folks don't. Put the light on for your night stand. I'll take the CZ every day. Glocks just have a terrible grip & grip angle compared to the CZ. A hammer fired DA/ SA handgun is always safer than other guns, & they can be cocked into single action with your thumb, if you have time. It's like the last 2 - 3 generations were born without thumbs. Everyone's heard of "Glock Leg", or Glock Penis & femoral artery removal if you carry appendix.....no ones ever heard of CZ leg etc. I'll take an all metal pistol everyday over a damn plastic gun. Love my CZ Omega, Glocks always shoot low & I have trouble finding the sights when you bring the gun up to shooting level, the CZ'S sights are right there at eye level every time. The CZ'S are just better guns & the ergonomics are sooo much better.
