Grim Dawn is possibly one of the greatest ARPGs of our time. In an industry full of over-hyped, broken games with a sinful amount of micro-transactions and other immoral monetization practices, Grim Dawn is a jewel in the mud, that delivers a fascinating Diablo-like experience.

Over 1700 hours played. Truly magnificent.
As a curious potential player you gave me more in 90 seconds than a lot of so called starter guides out there. Thanks
0:12 Nuh uh, it's ROCK AND STONE!
Leaf lovers don't know better.
if you don't rock and stone, you aint goin home!
Did I hear a rock and stone?
Warden and Shieldbreaker here ;)....this game is a fckn masterpiece. My favourite ARPG since 2018!
i actually tried this on a pirated version once, i love it so goddamn much in the first 3 hours of play through that i bought it on steam including all of its dlcs
Same
Still one of the best aRPGs around!
I've started playing a week after of the first video. Now I'm totally immersed in this universe.
Rocking a lvl 25 pet conjurer as we speak :)
Nice! I usually stay away from pet builds, I don't like them very much. But this game has an immense support for pet builds. GL&HF!
My first character and ended up with a fun as hell pet build. Can do SR65 Ultimate but that is at or slightly above my limit.
Be careful playing Pets on low Quality PC. Or in Multiplayer where you are not the Host.
Pets suck the FPS in GrimDawn on masses. And combined fighting Pets in MP in Port Lagbury itself will make you Cry.
Have a great experience anyways.
been playing it for years. Still love it
My gf bought this game for me a few days ago. Around 14hrs+ of gameplay. I love it. Might be my current favorite game right now. :)
Very nice! Enjoy
nice girlfriend
she's a keeper
The game just got an expansion announced...That's why we play Grim Dawn in 2023
That's why we'll play Grim Dawn in 2024! :)
Haven't touched the game in a while but have considerable amounts of hours in it, might play it later again thanks to your video :D
Hey that's a great comment :D have fun!
You got me hyped up for this. I'm buying this as soon as I get back from vacation! This looks like a mix between poe's complexity and setting and diablo 2's structure and gameplay, truly the best of both worlds!
Hope you like it!
They do say it's the successor to Diablo 2
The Game is awesome mate. I bought last September and can't stop creating new characters.
@@legendaryvicius what is your favorite build so far? My spellbreaker rips pretty hard but it's struggling in lvl50+ content
@@RickBomhof Pet conjurer is great for lazy playing and cheap builds, it was my first class. I have commando and warder and have a lot of fun playing them, they're very tanky and hit like trucks. I'm also working on a spellbreaker atm lv 80ish and you're right it is rough after 50 but as kept equipping the gear i was saving for the class it got easier. Still very squishy though lol
definitely one if not my fave ARPG
Played it, fully completed it, wish they had seasons it. great game
Well, there is the Grim League mod, which offers a ladder-like seasonal experience to those who join. Not sure if that's what you're looking for.
Going through ROCK AND STOOOOONN.... oh wait, snow.. Definitely snow.
Been playing since 2015, still finding new builds and enjoying it, my all time favourite build is lightning + retal primal strike warder. Truly the game closest to my heart.
I feel like the attributes on itens are very overwhelming. But still ike this so much!
First Grim Dawn video: "Yeah, you've sold me. I'll get it." *purchases game and plays for a little bit*
Second Grim Dawn video: "Coincident, I only just barely got this game at your recommendation. I'm not ready for a video on end game loot."
This Grim Dawn video: "You already sold me before! Do I need to buy copies for my friends too?" Hahaha
Why yes.
Coming from a being exhausted of playing poe since 2015 this master piece was a breath of fresh air, so recommended
I've played hundreds of hours and still playing. The only thing I will say that sucks is the map navigation. It's terrible. "North of Mourndale..." I swear, the game has no clue which way is north south east or west. 😅 Just run around til you figure it out yourself.
Which is good actually
It encourages exploration
I like that
@@jonathan9951 yeah I agree. I never bitched about it. I don't like a lot of hand holding. Considering they made Titan Quest which the map doesn't do anything to give away your coordinates of the next quest location which is good for exploring.
its amazing how much better the Grim Dawn beta was than the Diablo 4 beta
Okay ! I'm gonna play it.
thanks .
Grim Dawn is the True DIABLO 3. I just started playing and i love it. I still play d1 and 2. I uninstalled Diablo 3 and refuse to buy D4. Its too far from what made the original Diablo games great.
have done 300 hours and all I can say it was absolutelly worth.
Dude, almost 1000 hrs into this game, cant stop playing ir
This game is truly good. Absolutely worth.
I just started. That game is amazing. For me even better than d2
looks better then garba... i mean Diablo 4
Because it is a bloody good game!! 940 hours so far good!!
Best arpg ever made
Also the lore. I'd say it rivals the Elder Scrolls. In-fighting between gods, eldritch beings scheming for their own benefit, even 'false' gods, and their devout followers. Don't be deceived. Dreeg is the way forward. :)
I'd never imagine that Vergil would motivate me to play Grim Dawn.
14k+ hours in the game and this is a pretty good 90 sec explanation. However I never even bothered to read or care about the quest or story in this game.
Friend: "The Lore found in Paperpieces is immersively deep and could be a book itself."
Me: *picks em just up for XP slices and X-ed the text away."
(almost 3K hrs in - never read anything. Still love the Game)
2k hours on this beauty. Endless hours of min-maxing.
Hey I'm very close to 2k myself! If only steam counted the hours spent perfecting the builds on GrimTools... :D
@@coincident You said it :D
Gave this game so many chances but I always get bored mid-elite
hopefully grim dawn 2 is coming out soon. i wish there was more multiplayer interaction. Marketplace or whatever... i just bought the game and finished the game on normal with my spellbreaker :)
They're working on a new game called Farthest Frontier now. I'm not sure if there will be a GD 2, but it's not going to be for soon either way. Would be nice tho
@@coincident Imagine having diablo4,poe2 and grim dawn2.This will be the paradise for action rpg players!
@@cookie-dq6zj Yeah that would be pretty amazing. Too bad I wouldn't have time for all of those... I would just play the hell out of GD2 for hours and hours.
@@coincident 😄
@@coincident They did mention in a recent stream for farthest frontier that they are working on a new engine which grim dawn 2 also will use. So GD2 will be there somewhere along the way.
Did I hear a Rock and Stone?!
Not even Diablo 4 get me off from grim Dawn so yeah i Wish they do another dlc 😅
I hope u got paid well, because I just saw it in Summer Steam Sale and I was like "I probably wont buy it" and after the video I already got it :D
This video is not sponsored.
Quite funny my mates and I bought this and they got incredibly bored of it quickly and everytime we tried to play again they'd just sook at how boring it is. So I played it singleplayer instead and actually enjoyed it quite a bit. i don't entirely dig the new stat systems that been introduced from PoE, but I can see the appeal.
crap i just started playing recently. whats the new stat system?
@@bobzombie2710 I think he means the devotion systerm.
@@PervyAutomaton OK. what is new about the devotion system??
@@bobzombie2710 i guesshe meant that the devotion system is new
@@prepthenun but they've been in the game since release. i thought he meant something new as in within the last 2 years that changed lol. you know what. Ill just try to ask them direcly haha.
I played this for 1000 hrs... I still go back when I'm bored, playing the crucibles.
I Love this video and this game
The combat is so junky yet so entertaining.
I believe it's a mix of D2 and Titan Quest Developers and then some. Good game, I havent tried the expansions or these celestials you speak of though,
The DLCs add a lot to the game. Recommended.
Kind of reminds me of sacred gold.I will download it
I'm always surprised they never play up that the devs worked on Titan quest as well as this
No bromo, but you've a pretty dope voice.
Tanks bruh
😂
Rock and Snow!
i might buy this game how complex it is
I approve of this message
but always the same loot...... too much shit. Level 100 is too low - should be 120 - 150 exp....
come on, don't make me go back from break after 750h+
This makes me want to come back to GD! if only I didn't have a crippling WoW addiction..
if you get disappointed about Diablo Immoral and want smth similar to play, look no further!
if you're still not convinced, lemme ask this
Do you wanna spend over 10 years or/and $500k to max out your char in Diablo Immoral (note that it's $500k per char, not account)
or
spend 60 bucks for full game and 2 expansions to play Grim Dawn forever
it's your call, pal!
sadly the endgame is kinda meh. They need to implement more crafting options.
Oh, I thought you were going to say it needs more endgame bosses / challenges. I'm surprised you find crafting to be lacking considering the amount of items that already exist.
Doesn't help that the game doesn't know what genre or setting it really wants to be though.
😂😂
0:11 ROCK AND STONE
Rock and snow. It's literally on screen. And also in the closed captions.
Good meme tho.
ROCK AND STONE BROTHER
Uhhh okay then 🤷♂
60 euros? BG3 is 60 euros and it is utmost trash.
Time to get this for free
So much loot it’s kinda overwhelming. Idk if I should give it a second chance. 🤔
There is a button at the lower left that allows you to set a loot filter. You can straight up turn off certain loot you don't want to see
From commons and yellows. To just straight up asking it only to show loot with certain bonuses or attack types
Also the rainbow mod is really easy to add and makes differentiating loot much easier and faster
How good/important are the DLCs ? Should I get the game with or without them ?
- The Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods DLCs are huge. Entire new campaigns, enemies, classes, items, and even game modes. I recommend getting both, the game gets an immense depth with them.
- Optionally there's the Crucible DLC which is smaller: just a collection of arenas with waves of increasingly difficult monsters. It's a great challenge if you like arena-like gameplay. No new items or monsters or anything.
- The rest of the DLCs are for visuals only: decorative gear, companion pets that do not attack, and other small things. Personally, I bought them all to support the developers, but then I never used any of them. You can totally skip on those since they add nothing relevant to gameplay.
You could start without them and then buy them once you've "finished" the campaign. They do add a lot though, f.ex. Ashes of Malmouth adds a transmogrifyer, 2 new acts, 2 new classes, new game modes and such. Forgotten Gods adds yet another class, new game mode, Rune Augments, etc. - both expansions include new locations and more items and Constelations + more.
I'd probably prefer buying everything but there's certaintly a lot of content in the base game alone. And as mentioned, you can always play the entire base campaign and THEN add the expansions to get access to the other acts.
never mentioned the good amount of mods , like playing all of diablo 2 in that game.
I mentioned that and some other things in the full video.
i dont own the game but thinking bout it... but what is the class of the caracter showed at the snow area at 0:13 ?
That's a Trickster = Nightblade + Shaman, wearing the full Morgoneth set, which looks very cool!
well done
why play this game? answer is simple: it is good game
but i don't know why everyone compare this game to Diablo
this game closer to Titan Quest
IIRC the Titan Quest dev team had people from Blizzard North (the creators of diablo).
i already play grim dawn its amazing game jsut as this video!;)
does anyone know why I can't change any of my keybind on steam? love the game but I'd love to make some keyboard adjustments but for whatever reasons, none of my settings are ever saved or changed :(
Strange. Never seen that problem before.
Try validating the game files in steam.
If that doesn't work, try disabling cloud saving maybe.
No facerockets?
ATTICA! ATTICA!
lol
I wanna know something tho before i buy it, is this game better than titan quest when it comes to aiming and auto tracking? And how grindy is it?
IMO the game controls better, and is more challenging than TQ. The grind is medium/low.
The vast majority of builds can get fully equipped with all BIS items in end-game with a bit of general farming.
It's rare, but other builds need extremely specific items that require a lot of target-farming.
@@coincident I appreciate the response sir!
Not very grindy at all if you're trying to just get through to Ultimate--just really grasp the systems, crafting, resistances and remain flexible with your build (don't get tunnel vision).
Rock & Stone!
Rock and snow. Closed captions can help.
Grim Dawn is one of my most favourite games. But really? "Extremely detailed storyline"?! The dialogues of the whole "story" can be read in less than 30 seconds.. The game is amazing but if you guys are looking for a solid storyline, you won't find it here.
i want to get into this game , but at the same time i can't i just wish it was full multiplayer with trading like poe
But no invisibility
game is good but i hate the useless info of abilities and they have the smallest text size possible i think last epoch has more to offer with abilities and combination
Great Game
how about a gameplay on channel ??
Hmmmm. I'll consider it. The thing is, all my chars are already at the end game.
Maybe if I start a new character from zero...? Would that make sense?
@@coincident yeh it will! as u have said its a really good game! i really really wanna try this genre of the game and your gameplay would be a great guide and fun to watch, reallly suggest u to do
Why play GD in 2022? Because it and Path of Exiles are considered the successor of Diablo 2 and I'm always down for both of them.
there is truly no better arpg made by a indie studio then grim dawn!
wtf is ur character a deathknight??
Which one? I don't have a deathknight (yet).
@@coincident 0:13
looks like a WoW Deathknight to me
Oh, that's my main character; it's actually a Trickster: Shaman + Nightblade.
But the Morgoneth set that he's wearing with all those spikes does look cool tbh.
A Deathknight in GD I think is made with: Soldier + Necromancer.
hmm, haven't seen GrimDawn since january 2017
Not gonna lie, I dont see a difference between this and any old diablo style game or diablo in general. Convince me why this game is different because this video didn't.
I mean, if you don't like ARPGs, you don't like ARPGs.
@@colbyboucher6391 lolol right
easy game .. even with the most difficult settings ..
just be a necromancer + shaman ..
and let ur minions do all the work 🤣🤣🤣
Hand-made map? P A S S
Diablo looks way better.
Just like PoE this games art style is kind of off putting
I dont see why this is better than Path of Exile?`
Same
Game's mid af.
Mid has a very high rating, let's be honest, mid is okay and everyone likes okay. It's bad or good nothing else matters...
