Oh where are the Giant Spider Crabs?

A famous cast of Giant Spider Crabs usually aggregate in the shallows along Mornington Peninsula's piers during winter.
But this year these crabulous critters have kept us waiting with bated breath.
Word on the sea is that they laid low this year, staying in deeper waters in Port Phillip Bay.
The Spider Crabs have fans across the globe (including Sir David Attenborough) who are missing their otherworldly spectacle.
Mal Webb and Kylie Morrigan have even written a wonderful song lamenting their absence.
