The term “Sport” was probably a poor choice of words for this car. I have this exact same year and model. It’s my first SUV. I like it for the most part. More power would be nice, but who the hell is racing around town in a compact SUV? It’s a nice addition to the winter in upstate NY. It’s a great A-B vehicle. This is a very good video.
The 'rough idle' thing you were saying in the morning - start any Mazda in the morning with the skyactiv motors. Sounds like the thing is going to blow up lol
Stupid review..its a crossover mini suv for family with kids..youre not driving sports car and the cvt is for gas saving think about it..if you want fast car go buy bmw m6 suv or x5 bmw..but at the end of the day this new nissan rogue is great suv for road trip its quiet, smooth, and actractive design compare to boring Rav 4 and honda CRV..
Great review as usual, always was interested in Nissan SUVs, you think youd be able to review the Juke Nismo, or Murano?? Also was wondering are any Acura sedans on your upcoming review list? like the 2010 TSX or new IL/ILX models?
I have this exact car, and I couldn’t agree more. A turbo with a meager 160hp would be a huge bonus. I still like it, though. It’s a comfortable drive. If Dad wanted me to go fast, he would have kept his ‘67 Shelby 500 and passed it on down. Lol.
I've never driven the Rogue Sport but I have driven the regular Rogue. Your review is definitely on point as I had these same impressions from the normal Rogue. The steering is extremely numb as if you're picking up a stand-alone steering wheel from a junkyard and moving it with your hands. Definitely among the numbest electric steering systems in the business, IMO. You really DON'T feel anything, and that isn't an exaggeration. It's also pretty unnerving going around corners and you do feel a lot of sidewall bounce. It's funny because when you look at a Rogue with its intrinsic V motion grille, sharp body lines and flat bottom small diameter steering wheel, you think it's going to handle like a budget X3 or Q5, but really the designers are just trying to fool you. It only looks better than it drives. I also noticed, just like you pointed out, that the CVT has a pretty horrid rubber band effect and the engine revs way too much from the smallest throttle inputs. I think they did that to make it feel faster, even though it feels like you have no control over the engine RPMs. Most people would rather feel a more linear and progressive torque band at lower RPM. Overall, surprisingly hollow feeling car. I guess I expected better, even though my expectations were already low to begin with.
Their cvts are bad about that I can barely have my foot on the pedal and wants to jump to 4000 which is where the toque comes on in mine but it hurts mpgs Honda has a way better cvt design.
Man, this review was great as always. But this car is pretty horrendous. Their “sport” model only has 140hp?? And they’re still putting 1980s hotel carpet- style cloth seats in cars? Nissan totally flopped on this one.
So in conclusion, this is like the regular Rogue, only its uglier, smaller, slower, less refined, less efficient, not joyful to drive, less equipped, potentially less reliable, and more annoying, already outdated, and over priced.
Nissan is definitely slacking lately and have lost their passion for making fun cars. There is no longer a connection with their Japanese style and philosophy that once made them great. I own a 2007 Sentra Spec V and it's faster than the brand new Sentra Nismo. I have a couple mods on it but its still mostly stock and most people don't even know their potential. I don't think the B16 Sentra was a good looking car, but its certainly starting to age well compared to most cars now. I even think the Maxima looks way worse than it used to. It has no style or character at all. If they produced a new car that is anything like the 240sx or Pulsar with a Manual option people would buy them in a heartbeat. The price of the latest gen Skyline has gotten way out of control and there is no point buying a 370Z new when you can get it the next year for 10k cheaper.
I agree completely. It's like they stopped caring about the cars they make. Even the Z and the GTR are just the regurgitated versions from 2009 or whatever. They're going to get left in the dust pretty quick, car manufactures are really stepping up their game.

Good shit on the name change matt, ur subscriber base is growing quickly
The overall theme of this review was....Apathetic. Great videos as always, could tell you weren't too thrilled by this Crossover!
Crossovers are the best vehicles. That's why they are taking over the car market. Screw the haters.
I love my rogue sport I have been driving a lot since I have been doing Lyft n Urber n going to other my job it is a great little suv!
This with the 1.6 turbo from the juke would probably be decent.
The SCAT brought to you by the great folks at Nissan, guaranteed to disappoint you everyday.
“Actively annoys me” Lol I love the honesty, props for that. I don’t like a cvt either
The 'rough idle' thing you were saying in the morning - start any Mazda in the morning with the skyactiv motors. Sounds like the thing is going to blow up lol
Alot of engines do that. Not just nissan and mazda.
I like them I think they look good both inside and outside
It’s still a 1st generation Rogue/Rogue Select Platform different version in Europe.
7:59 you can tell when a car is slow when Matt takes his hand off the steering wheel during an acceleration 😂
Good review. It is hard to imagine that is $27,000. You could get a Honda CR-V EX trim for that.
I drive a 2014 Nissan Sentra. As a car enthusiast it breaks my heart every time I floor the gas pedal. Getting a Na Miata in December.
Robert G. You shoulda got the manual

THANJ YOU! I Mean damn….just get a sports cars if you want that extra pep
Is the push button start to appeal to young buyers? Because this older buyer HATES it.

I almost went to sleep halfway through the video. I understand not every car needs 400 hp, but these subcompacts are all mostly underpowered.
I have this exact car, and I couldn’t agree more. A turbo with a meager 160hp would be a huge bonus. I still like it, though. It’s a comfortable drive. If Dad wanted me to go fast, he would have kept his ‘67 Shelby 500 and passed it on down. Lol.
In my opinion they should've just kept it Qashqai, Dualis, or maybe used the old sub-compact suv name Turrano?
btw, theres a SPORT steering mode that tightens up the handling.
0:39 also looks like every other crossover ever.
I'll get a manual transmission. Damn the tech. Pass the awd. Sidestep the cvt. I'll mod as desired
Do a Nissan Juke! Possibly the nismo version
NICE Review: 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport SV AWD
Sport 🤔
Bart Mlotkowski lol
Exact opposite
When the intro still says subaruwrxfan
I love seeing drivers who drive crossovers trying to act like they're driving a sports car. It's cute.
If I’m in a rush, I’m in a rush 🤣🤷🏾♂️ dgaf what y’all think
Using the plastic at the bottom equals no rock chips
I thought it had like 170 or so hp? Or did they down grade that from previous years?
Only regular Rogue has 170 hp.
At least you get to own an SV
Pretty sure Nissan is getting Android Auto and Apple Carplay for 2018 models...
Is the Nissan Rogue sport automatic or Manual transmission?
Ryder Tolentino it has automatic I have the rogue sport it is good
Manual not available in the US.

Request a maxima from nissan
Yad Gakhal I had a 2010 Maxima no issues 65000 miles
Their cvts are bad about that I can barely have my foot on the pedal and wants to jump to 4000 which is where the toque comes on in mine but it hurts mpgs Honda has a way better cvt design.
Matt - wasn’t impressed. Driving around town 20 times - we get it - it sucks
nothing is sporty in this car
'Sport' Utility Vehicles aren't sporty in general.
The appearance definitely is. I like it, especially the front.
My dream car 😍😍😍 If only I could win the PowerBall 😔
Most cars that are called "Sport" are usually as boring and numb as this box.
Lol who is going to take this around some corners
7:54 :)
Ujw Gaming not a chuckle from him
It' named Qashqai here in Canada ahaah
Stupid name I feel sorry for you so glad we do not use it here.
Surprised they still offer that crap engine, not been in the UK version for few years.
Yea you people get those 1.0 liter from your piss ant cars.
@@scrambler69-xk3kv alright pipe down 🤣
Not sure what or who this vehicle is for. It's slow, has little options, and not very versatile.
Young mom with small children who fust needs to get from A to B.
First
LMFAOOOOO Nissan please stop putting sport on your shitty CVT cars 😂
Man, this review was great as always. But this car is pretty horrendous. Their “sport” model only has 140hp?? And they’re still putting 1980s hotel carpet- style cloth seats in cars? Nissan totally flopped on this one.
My mama hamster 2017 Nissan port Nissan
Regular Rogue is 10x nicer
So in conclusion, this is like the regular Rogue, only its uglier, smaller, slower, less refined, less efficient, not joyful to drive, less equipped, potentially less reliable, and more annoying, already outdated, and over priced.
Do not need it hell I do not own a smart phone and have no desire to.
I've been a huge Nissan fan since the 90's but at this point nearly everything that they make is disappointing.
The Nissan Micra is pretty nice however, as a compact car.

Just popping in to say I fucking despise Nissan Rogue.
What's a Nissan Rouge?
amgGaming hahaha oops. You know. The Nissan rougueougue.

It may surprise you but we do not give a damn.
Would never own a garbage CVT.
Another boring Nissan. What happened?
Seems like a shit car don't know why anyone would buy this thing when the competition is way better
Road Slow 720 or buy a mid sized sedan with twice the room inside
I love the looks of it.
what a boring underpowered car
