I did basically the same thing and I have a suggestion get a couple of the little notebook size solar panels they're really light you can either velcro one up at the front where the paddle would be or I got mine up on top of my sunshade two up there and one up ' front at the paddle' for 75 watts total will do wonders that help and keep it your battery up throughout the course of the day
Remote control trolling motor may be a better option. Good that you are trying, but still have a lot to learn. Watch others with trolling motor operations to learn about safety and how to set up your rig on land before launching. Good boating!
That’s awesome you should throw up a video after I bet it will be zooming I still have my kayak but I’m gonna keep it on arm pump mode I need the exercise lol
in WI. you have to have a battery box and it has to be strapped down to the boat in a way the lid is also strapped ( so if the boat flipped over or sank to the bottom when the boat was recovered the battery comes out of the water with the boat) if you don't have a built in place to put your battery. Also in WI. any boat that is not self-propelled this means it has any kind of motor electric or gas has to be registered. This may not be the law in your state but it is better to check than to learn from a game warden with a ticket.
Yes the larger the pounds of thrust in the motor you buy plus removing the paddles will help with the speed and of corse the smoother the water is less choppy waves the better
I have three notebook size 25 watt solar panels on mine two on top one velcroed up at the paddle area total of 75 and it does wonders it keeping my battery up throughout the day
Did you try using the original Rutter and the motor? Feel like that was a missed opportunity, use the linkage from the original rudder to steer the boat and then a remote throttle ya know
Group 27 deep cycle marine battery, 20 watt solar panel,on awning go all day, or solar generator go all night, nice work mate. Around $1000.the upgrade battery will add speed
I def wouldn't have removed the rudder, if you're battery dies, you have no way of steering yourself back to shore. I've seen others with the rudder left in place. Check into it, other than that, looks like great fun for the family. Good luck and be safe.
Yea is definitely needed like I said in the video to have paddles but because it was brand new I wasn’t worried bout it dying first time out for half an hr
WHy not offset the trolling motor so you can drive from the front of the boat? you had a perfect way to steer; now you have to steer from the back ;/ motors dont have to be centered, they dont even need to be in the back.
Personally I don’t do ocean lol wouldn’t recommend it for such a small boat waves could fill this boat very quickly and sink it because it’s so small and low profile
Never really took it to the End of the battery life I’ve used it for about a few hours off and on to get to and from my fishing stop spots with no issues it just depends if your running it the whole time or not
perhaps your daughter might one day become a bioengineering doctor and create longer arms for people so they can enjoy inexpensive trolling motors on pedal boats...
This video should’ve been maybe 8 mins or so. The trolling motors bracket is badly made, it will keep digging a wider holes in your pedal boat. And why would you put the Bimini top on while trailering the boat? That should be tied down. Lmfao
Nothing more fun than taking your kids fishing, even if you have to bait their hooks, well done Dad .
Thank for taking us on the boat. It was a smooth ride.
Of course can’t wait to do it again
Awesome video super informative especially for someone who has no idea of what’s involved with a paddle boat and I’m contemplating getting one!!!

Looks like fun, I am putting one of those motors on a kayak. Nice family outing

What’s the width of these pedal boats? Tryna think if I could possibly angle it into my trucks bed and just firmly tie it down

Yes thanks I plan on getting all the good stuff for it like that lights pump , paddles , horn etc it’s always best to be safe then sorry .
Ahhhhh question answered! If I want to go fast I need to remove the pedals. Thanks!!

Nice it doesn't splash.. I would recommend a small solar charger for the battery, maybe 20 watts
Great idea

Just chose not to because of the placement of the throttle on the trolly would have been nice though

Also put pictures pipe fo extention.

You can get a battery box that hooks to your battery that has a button on it to tell you how much battery life you have left so you don't run out.
Awesome man bought the motor for our pedal boat and going to try how you did it.
It’s fun did you get it finished ?
if you were to lock the trolling motor in a neutral (straight forward) position, could you use the boats rudder to steer comfortably from your seat?
Not to sure I removed it so it wouldn’t flap around causing it to fight against the trolling motor
I liked your video and the music
Thanks
Any suggestion to make it easier to use the trolling motor from the front seat

If you buy a Pelican peddle boat, be sure to buy watertight bushing!!
Never get wet feet again!

How long does the battery last? Going to a fishing spot then maybe move to several then head back not on full speed unless it’s not moving
I never used the whole battery and I got an hour and a half before I brought it back to the dock still had juice
Nice
Maybe you could place a pvc pipe over that throttle and make a longer extension so you can control it from the front seat. 6:44
Good idea
With that battery at speed 5 maybe an hour and a half, get a lithium 100ah batt. Yeah they are expensive but well worth it.
Yea that would be nice 👍🏼
Was that the ocean you were in? Or just sticking to lakes/rivers?
Oh no this would be gone in an ocean for sure haha I was just in a man made lake
Awesome boat. Love you handsome man. Muah
❤️❤️❤️❤️💋💋💋
Thank you lovely 😊
The only thing missing ...water skis 🤣🤣
Lol
Man wish you would've shown the actual process it is impossible to find a DIY one that shows where you drilled.
I can throw a short video sometime this week to show that for you bud
@@detailhomie1779 awesome!
How is the boat now .. I'm looking to do it kinda the same way.
How did you remove the pole holding the rudder? I am stuck on this part. Your advice would be much appreciated thanks.
I had to actually hand saw it off I would save the pieces just in case you decide later you want to put it back together some how
Thank you much appreciated!
@@travisskipper2112 yea no problem
The weight capacity is 775lb
Total yes
Hey brother i got the same thing like yours and it rocks I even put 1 10 speaker a little system some led lights i ll send you a picture
Does this work for the ocean
Personally I don’t do ocean lol wouldn’t recommend it for such a small boat waves could fill this boat very quickly and sink it because it’s so small and low profile
Scarry to put holes on the underside.
Also if the batter dies you can no longer steer!
Can’t live in fear bud it’s a small lake easy to float to land
The holes are not in water
Do the pedals spin while running?
Yes if there on still
Good for 6 foot man ?
To be honest no I’m short I’m 5’5” and it’s like borderline . If I’m being honest if you can find the two seater possibly
Thanks i already buy on amazon i can’t cancel my items im fuck ??
@@kevenlesage2286 just comes down to personal preference good luck hope it works out
Hola donde puedo comprar un bote a pedal y el precio cual es?

Next test ,,20 hp merc short drive 😂, hang on
Right lol !
Have someone on shore show what it looks like on the water!
No longer live there or have the boat sorry
Load the boat backwards and you'll be able to leave the motor on

I’m two minutes from the water and it’s working just fine look at the rest of my videos and please tell me what you would have done different lol
