There are antidotes to this crisis and the recession. We just have to take a breath and look for them.
In this video - I break down how progressive companies came roaring out of past recessions and how you can do the same.
Here are some highlights…
You need a plan…now: the companies that didn’t have a plan during the last six recessions are the ones that didn’t survive. Don’t take the next 6-weeks to write out a 100-page business plan. Instead - get your fellow leaders into a room and take the next 48-hours to build a plan with multiple contingencies and then operationalize it. Now.
Keep the imaginative spirit alive: imagination is one of the first things that gets set aside during a crisis because we move into full-on action mode by addressing everything that feels like a priority. And everything feels urgent now. But - if you don’t have your imagination working...you’ll miss the opportunities during this crisis.
Make progressive decisions: Yes, you need to look at your operating expenses and make adjustments to boost efficiency. But - progressive companies also invest significantly into R&D and marketing during a crisis to capture new markets, develop new tech, and acquire new customers.
