i liked OMD in the early to mid 80s n when this kicked out at a rave on the outskirts of Leeds....the ruuussshhh i received on hearing it remixed plus it got me replaying all my omd albums that were in the attic dreaming the dreams of the dream, onwards n upwards, holding it hi n proud, keeping the faith fighting for the cause ,forever and a day,
1991. Was released in the DMC 12'' record "May 91 Two", catalog number "DMC 100/2". Brothers in Rhythm were Dave Seaman & Steve Anderson, and this remix was called "Postcards From The Edge". Just one word: AMAZING!!
The beginning is representing you, looking back at the planet as it get's destroyed by a meteor stream. You're in a safe place, all you think you have are the memories of those you once loved, and the world which once existed. Little fluffy clouds is an esoteric reference to the moon. and a rooster is symbolic of the sun. When Little Fluffy Clouds creeps in at the 5.10 mark, the whole ambience shifts gears. From melancholy to really uplifting positivity. You've realised that it's YOU who is the souvenir, and the new seed stock to replenish the earth.Masterpiece.
Dla mnie jeden z najlepszych przedstawicieli New Romantic w muzyce ....Cala gama syntezatorow i nastroj , tworzyly niepowtarzalny dla innych grup sposob wykonania...A ilez wspomnien z nimi zwiazanych...Pozdrowienia dla wszystkich fanow OMD :)
what a mix! what....a.....m i x! Never heard it before but better late than never. It's beautiful. Well done Brothers In Rhythm. You've surpassed the brilliant mix you did for New Order's World - The Price of Love, by quite some way.
hey jsummer05! I used to go to shelleys in stoke in 1991 (1988-1992) when I was a student there- Im trying to think if I remember that Dave bloke...anyway, I could have been there when you were...dancing to this kind of thing-rings a bell (even tho I think that the original version is the best overall)-this sounds like the 90s style I would have danced to.x
Anyone ever found an m p3 of this anywhere? DO WANT!! Love how Little Fluffy Clouds starts in at the end - must have been a heavenly chillout area that night.
Arghhh Monday night in Fallows Aintree, truly legendary nights, DJs Ralph’s, John Cotton, that little narrow lane ( Heysham Road ) one lane, all that traffic, leaving the club absolutely soaked, then on to all night house party’s or the teapot cafe in Bootle, happy days 😎😷🕺👍
How Dunce....Take a song thats already excellent and has a very sophisticated sound and image to it, then add in cow bells as a remix? There are other OMD songs that more cow bell friendly...try Tesla Girls
Best version of Souvenir

Yes from the late 90's also Sash remixed some of their other stuff.
Wunderbar! :-)
Souvenir / always leave a memoir of a / Souvenir. CCR
Music very the best. Welcom Radio The Best.
Brilliant
This isn't a bad version, although I do feel that the song has that amazing feel to it that it does because it's kept at a slow pace like a ballad
Ah cool version but I still think the Moby version is the best. Takes the hypnotic nature and feel of the original song but adds a deep beat.
Absolutely right
I have this on DMC 12 inch :-)
I like the moby remix better because of the synth and electronic sound of it
+I am Mooncat this is a classic end of night 1991 rave tune! don't dis it! ; -)
If anyone has this in MP3 I would greatly appreciate it
nice
nice!
Fantastic, but then along came Moby and showed us all how to do it proper :)
Moby's mix is great, but this is better in my opinion. The Piano bit in the end is just incredible.
TrapperMilan Not all of us...
What year was this released as a DMC only remix?
1991. DMC only
Topnotch, this is balearic !
Is this an official mix?
