- Bass singer, Harold Gilley, has been known for doing great impressions of other bass singers. Here is a recording he made that you will enjoy, and that is comical. He does impressions of J.D. Sumner, George Younce, Big Chief Wetherington, and others! He is also doing all the voices. If you are a fan of bass singers, you'll love this!

This is my grampa. God I miss so much.
Loved him. This was hilarious. My daughter doesn’t know much about southern gospel and she came in my room while I was listening to this JD impression, and she said is that a gorilla singing lol!
Harold Gilley was the guy! Awesome Bb0 at 3:22. RIP Mr. Gilley!
When Harold sings as George, it sounds soooo much like him!
This is EXCELLENT! His Younce, Sumner, and Jim Reeves are particularly good.
Did anyone else notice that it was supposed to be a double low C or C1 and Harold ACTUALLY sang a Double Low B or B0 instead?
I had the pleasure of playing piano for Harold when he sang bass for the Potter's Clay. He got us on the National Quartet Convention when it was held in Nashville. He was one funny guy and a great bass singer.
It sure sounds like Harold is doing Ralph Emery too!
So spot on with the impressions! Fantastic video!
JD one of the best Base Voices of all time.
I love his testimony too.
He is dead on with George Younce-wow!
Absolutely awesome! The differences between George and J.D. are classic! They loved each other to the core, though. Very emotional video on youtube about it. Thanks!
I miss this era of southern gospel. It was a transitional period of the old timers to the current days. It was a unique time
Love this, amazing
Absolutely excellent, funny & spot on.
This is spooky. Me and some fiends were just talking about Gilley and this tape over the weekend. Love it!
LOL. Harold was awesome!!!
jdsumner
This is absolutely hysterical!
This is awesome. What a talent.
Absolutely Hilarious. His "JD" was good. But that "George Younce" is spectacular! And the "Cousin Ernie" is great.
RIP MR GILLEY WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU AND E THAB\NK YOU FOR HELP PAVING THE WAY FOR US YOUNG KNOTHEADS OUT TRYING TO COUGH UP A NOTE
this is great harold. wow
I have the old tape of this from years back. cant find it now.

This is great, love it.
Love This, Thanks For Posting It. :)
I just stumbled across this. It’s absolutely fantastic!!!
Talent, pure talent!!
Thank you so much for this post!
Oh, by the way, JD sang with Elvis.
Harold gilley was just as low as jd great bass singer sounds just like him
Thats a good Big Cheif!
Ha this is awesome!
Alot of people don't know this but JD Sumner loved Peg McKamey like a sister.. thats probably why Harold throwed up all the Peg jokes.. Ruben always said "most people who know me know Peg most people that know Peg dont know me, and if you don't believe me ask JD Sumner.."
You should Jimmy Jones of The Harmonizing Four or Ellis Johnson Of The Harmonizing Four
THIS IS GREAT. I BOUGHT THE CASSETTE TAPE YEARS AGO.
HEROLD GILLEY WHERE EVER YOU ARE PLEASE GET AHOLD OF ME. PLEASE
RON
what was the year and month ????? have you more jd sumner interwiws with Ralph or have you this Show complete
Wait, so this is interview with harold or what?
George Younce really took it two steps below JD Sumner's lowest low, and they wanted to put it in the Guinness Book Of World Records, he would not let them put it in it. He did not want to take away from him.
JD was great, but it was true George took it two steps below JD Sumner and would not let them put them in in that record book, because JD was known as the lowest Bass Singer on record, George did not want to take it away from him.
bologny George could get down but Jd is unique extreme low bass nobody can touch
TheShospitali George wouldn't hit JD's lowest
Considering J.Ds lowest note was a Subcontra G, I don't think you're counting ranges correctly
TheShospitali and jd mention about he's lower than george when he said " i sang double low c that's lower than you sang george then george says yeah"
Hard to believe he passed away!
They make JD sound arrogant and self centered. That isn’t correct right
Well, Its exaggerated a bit but J.D. was a bit arrogant about his low note. Not so sure about the bragging about being with Elvis.
have you more interwiws with jd sumner
he hit a Bb0! not a c1! its lower!
My Leg Fell Off actually his lowest note was a G0 which he sang in full voice while doing an Elvis concert
My Leg Fell Off Witch is lower?
@@kennyhuskisson2684 G0 is lower than Bb0 and C1
neil johnson Thank you so much👍✌
he is hitting a B flat at the end. lower than the double low C xDDD
60hz is closer to B1. C1 is 32.5 Hz.
9:34 Ab1
People won’t say it but JD was a ego maniac . I think before he passed he humbled him self some.
3:16
mais grave que o próprio JD...
@@vitormrmr É isso aí
