  • He Man Revolution Review - He Man Revolution SUCKS and Kevin Smith FAILS Again! After Kevin Smith's prior He-Man and the Masters of the Universe failure with He Man Revelation, Kevin Smith once again proves that he doesn't know what he's doing with He-Man Revolution aka Masters of the Universe Revolution. Another Kevin Smith sequel series flop. Kevin Smith's first He-Man series was woke just as Clownfish TV had reported but He Man Revolution isn't much of a course correction. Did Kevin Smith make an effort to fix his He-Man mistakes? Yes but the show is still a woke disaster even if the character of Teela has slightly improved. What does William Shatner do on He Man Revolution? Watch TV and movie critic Price of Reason review, react and breakdown He Man Revolution including Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3, Episode 4 and Episode 5. If you watched the he man revolution trailer and weren't sure if you should watch the actual series, make sure to watch Price of Reason He Man review first. Masters of the Universe Revolution Review.

    Also, the "down with the system" thing, to replace it with a democracy, that is too much on the nose, coming from activists with a severe case of "to reflect the real world", is a very poor thing considering that all democracies in the real world are far worse now than they were 20 or 30 years ago...

    Sadly, the audience that these studios want has largely been sensitized to woke elements. Even when they are toned down, the audience will reject such narratives out of hand because even a hint of woke is too much.

      That's actually how it was originally planned in the mini comics. Keldor was Randors older brother who merged with a demon (whose name is escaping me) from another dimension and they became Skeletor. The merge gave both Keldor and the demon amnesia.
      As for why Keldor couldn't rule, the Gar (blue skinned race) is because they were the worst of the worst on Eternia. Randors father Miro only had a Gar son to help with a treaty between the two main races of Eternia. The Gar broke the treaty shortly after Randor was born.

      I want to attempt to clarify this. On Revolution, there is a flashback of a young Keldor being spoken of negatively because of his appearance and essentially because he's inter@c1ial. They paint him as a victim. At least that's what it seems like to me. It's heavily suggested that his appearance would be an obstacle for the people of Eternia to accept him as any kind of heir. At least that's the way it seemed to me.

    I grew up such a fan of He-Man. I refuse to give up on him! I don't care that Kevin Smith ruined his own career. I care that He-Man has been Disgracesed. I love the OG show for what it was and the strength of character each individual character had. The Sci-fi Fantasy fusion world it took place in, the imagination it sparked in me, and the thrillingness of it all. I was 7 when it first hit the airwaves. As a latchkey kid with a neglectful family, and a very abusive upbringing. I credit He-Man, Optimus Prime, Mr.Rodgers, Mr.T, and The Big Blue Boyscout himself, Superman as those most influential in guiding the development of my moral compass. I get my sense of Justice from Batman and John Wayne.
    I watched the first season with bated breath. I watched with my heart swelling with hope that my childhood hero was returning to me in yet another form. The music, the floating familiar bits of Eternian rubble. Instantly! I recognized it was parts near Castle Greyskull, this was it! A mature fully realized return and continuation of my most beloved childhood show. My hands were shaking tears welling up with excitement this was it! Kevin Smith Had my back! This was going to be soo fucking EPIC! I thought as the first few moments of the battle played out. I was breathless and thrilled. The battle moves into the castle and it looks bad then it happens. I blinked waiting letting the story play out. My eyes were wide, my mouth grimacing, and my upper lip started twitching as anger poured into me shaking my body with outrage. He was killed, just like that in the first five minutes. It was BUTCHERY! They chopped down the most powerful man in the universe like it was NOTHING! and some FARCE pretending to be Tela and the rest of the cast for that matter, I saw no semblance of any of the actual character archetypes that these classic He-Man characters represented. I watched the whole first season all the way through to give it all of the chance I could. I can not take any more Disrespect, therefore I will not watch this season or anything Kevin Smith or the rest of the heads of the show make.
    Starting college this spring at 48 years old I used to do Aerospace and Racecar stuff back in the day. Former Military. A wide variety of life experiences. I'm now going in a different direction, following my original passion of films and cartoons. If so many franchises fail so hard and they keep butchering all the good stuff, well everyone will only have lame weak role models, Do you think they'll stop at chopping down He-Man nope they are coming for all of them. I don't want to see that happen. I hope you fans keep faith I have big plans. Without the fans there is nothing, it's all just insane scribblings of a madman otherwise.

    A few facts for you that might help with your accuracy when reporting on MOTU:
    1- ClownfishTV lied. They said Teela had a girlfriend. Lie. They said Andra would be the next He-Man. Lie. They called it a bait and switch. Lie. They said Geeky Sparkles only eats 1 donut in a sitting. Lie. Clearly it's more like 10.
    Ok... so that last one is just a theory (but one based on very compelling visual evidence). But I digress.
    2- Netflix put out a plot summary before the first trailer ever aired, CLEARLY stating that Teela would be front and center. If it was a bait and switch, why do that? But I'm assuming the haters can read... and that MIGHT be a bit of a stretch.
    3- You said most MOTU fans hated Revelation and it did not do well. There is a good number of fans who loved it, as evidenced by the fact it was Top 10 on Netflix, and in an industry where the dollar signs rule, they would not green light a second season if it didn't make money. And now the second season, Revolution appears to be doing quite well itself. Top 10 once again. It bodes quite well for the future.
    Just the facts, my man.

      @PriceofReason  7 місяців тому +5

      First of all, thank you for watching my video and responding. Even if we have different opinions on a show, it's nice that we can still have a conversation about it.
      As for your comments, to be fair, from what I can recall, well before Netflix released their summary of Revelation, Clownfish TV reported that the show would focus on Teela and not He-Man. Kevin Smith said this was not true but after Netflix eventually released their summary and then the show itself came out, it became clear that their report was accurate. As for viewership ratings, indeed Revelation part 1 did well but by the time part 2 rolled out, the show has lost most of its viewers. That's because people didn't like what they saw in part 1. Revolution is also not performing well. Finally, critics' scores don't mean much these days. As for the amount of donuts you claim Clowfish eat, I have absolutely no idea as I've never met them. They seem nice enough though. Have a great day!

    • @MOTU_CTR
      @MOTU_CTR 7 місяців тому +1

      @PriceofReason I don't recall if the Clownfish tweet came first or the Netflix summary, but I don't think it's particularly relevant. The wording in the summary clearly states a Teela-centric story. So if this bait and switch was intended, they need to fire the guy who wrote the summary, because that ruins "the evil bait and switch plans". (And I use quotes because I think the bait and switchers are a joke.)
      I will agree with your recollection of the Top 10 status for parts 1 and 2 for Revelation. But wherever the final numbers ended up, it was good enough to green light the production of Revolution.
      I will disagree with your statement about Revolution NOT doing well. My good man... it's been in the Netflix Top 10 for 6 days. As in... Top 10 in the NATION.
      As for Clownfish seeming "nice enough"? Have you listened to them? Shrill. Nasty. Full of anger. Rage-fueled rants. Even their most ardent supporters don't call them nice. I would select a different adjective.
      For a conversation with the utmost honesty, you can say you dislike the show, and I'll say I loved the show. But you can't claim it did not do well, any more than I could claim it wasn't controversial.

    • @MOTU_CTR
      @MOTU_CTR 7 місяців тому +1

      @seandoherty6215 I've seen the keyboard culture warrior "review bomber" comments, and I've seen the praise from the actual fans. Quite a contrast.
      Those who are obsessed with politics and seek to find "woke agendas" in places they are not, are predictably full of rage, false accusations, and radical claims.
      Those who are actual MOTU fans generally seem to love the show. It's not unanimous, of course, as all fan-bases have a range of opinions. But there is alot more positive out there than you acknowledge.

    • @PriceofReason
      @PriceofReason  7 місяців тому +4

      @@MOTU_CTR Clownfish described the show before the official description was released. Then Kevin Smith flat out denied it. That was the lie and nothing else. Revolution, in its first few days, started in the top 10 and quickly fell off the chart. Now it's not on the charts which is a very bad sign. The only reason Revolution was even allowed to be completed was due to contractual obligations. In case you weren't aware, contracts for animated shows are different than live action. Most of the time they get 2 seasons from day 1 because of the cost of setting up animation planning etc. In this case, from what I could tell, Revolution was actually the second season but Netflix still reduced the episode order from 10 to 5. I know you like the show and you want it to do well but the truth is, it's considered a flop for Netflix. It's not even really a debate tbh. And in regards to Clownfish, like I said, I haven't met them but they seem nice enough to me. Also, I've never heard anybody that I've talked to say anything bad about them.

    I have to politely disagree.
    Now for reference, I HATED the first season.
    The overall story had potential, that along with the solid animation & a few neat Easter eggs is about the only good things that can be said about it.
    The entire thing was derailed by terrible execution, resulting in the bloated, woke mess that was Revelation.
    Revolution however I found was a solid 175 (not a full 180) reversal. It did a great job blending the various mythos of MOTU established throughout the years. The animation was still solid. I found it a fun romp with very little woke. We got Skeletor background, Hordak and the Horde with more of Etheria teased, a sexy Teela back and He-Man even got to 1st base for once, lol. The only thing that rubbed me wrong was no King He-Man and new girl turning politician at the end.

      Yes but as I said, Adam getting rid of the throne every second really hurts his character. It may seem like something minor but to me it isn't. He seems weak and dumb.

      I can totally see where you are coming from. But the way I look at it is, Adam just lost his father, and just found his long lost uncle. He's in a bad place mentally and not sure he can balance running off on adventures with being the sovereign of a nation. He panicked.
      Also one ever said Adam / He-Man was a genius or anything. He's 1/2 spoiled prince and 1/2 magic muscle man who punches his way out of problems, lol. He's allowed to make bad decisions.
      But I do agree that the whole ending the monarchy thing was shoehorned in and absolutely the worst thing that happened in the show. A better ending would have been Adam excepting that with great power comes great responsibility and deciding that he is just going to have to try to balance his life as warrior and monarch.

      @@JohnnyOmnia79 On the original show, to me, He Man always seemed thoughtful. He wouldn't get outsmarted every second. I'm not saying that the idea of the slippery lost uncle wasn't a good one but I still think in Revolution it was just rather poorly executed. And it's also really hard for me to get over the ending.

      The, out of the blue "let's end the monarchy for democracy" ending was kinda dumb, no argument there. And I definitely felt the woke creeping back in when new gurl is now running for office even tho she's a total outsider still.
      But let's agree on one thing. He-Man deciding to say eff being king and moving into Castle Greyskull w/ Teela? Kind of a boss move, after 40 years, He-Man's finally getting some, lol.
      And screw anyone who tries to make it wierd at this point.
      I mean, I never pictured Evil-Lyn and Skeletor doing it but the last season put that $h!t in my head regardless. At least ole boy deserves his girl after all these years. 😅
