You might want to add a disclaimer that it's not your fault if people are crazy enough to test the pump as you did with a bare wire with 120vac and water...
good demonstration for repair step but the way how you tested it is dangerous. Easy to be electrically shocked.

I have the Starbucks machine and it has the 52w pump and the plastic tube instead of copper. I find that the main problem I have is the metal plate where the water flows into the portafilter that gets gunked up. I took the pump apart and it looked like new. I have been using it maybe 5 years now.

loosen the screw plastic part holding the tension of the ball valve.(check valve) dismantle the vibration pump motor.blow the fitting.if you blow it easily that mean the pressure is more that 14.7 psi.this very good.you can use petroleum jelly if you don't have vacuum grease (food grease) the 4 O-rings,specially the 2 O-rings outside.should be leak free (thin and big).tighten the screw.the exist jelly shield the leaked Do actual test.block your finger the water output. pressure should strong.when do assembling use additional washer.to increase the gap (the screw plastic part) keep in record the coil resistance. new vs old for a reference.
Whether or not your outlet has a fuse (GFCI safety outlet) it is nuts to "test" this way. All that water around, you with your sleeves rolled up, a metal sink, and than a free hanging and swinging cable with a copper end live 110V or 220V...

I'd have thought the pump would work a bit harder than that. I have a Delonghi EC680 with that pump (I think) that seems pretty low on pressure. They say it has 15 bar of pressure (or about 200 PSI). That pump doesn't look like it's doing much work.
If all it needs is to be taken apart for a good cleaning, that would be nice. A new pump is about $25 U.S.

It's a magnetic coil that moves a piston back and forth. Valves make sure that the water flows in one direction.

bon j'ai bien tout démonté (j'ai une EP5), nettoyé les parties plastiques et remonté. la pompe fait un bruit correct, mais n'aspire rien du tout...merci du tuto en tout cas.
testé vous de la même façon que moi? le circuit doit être ouvert pour pouvoir charger la pompe en eau!! Sinon assurez-vous de pas avoir inversé un des petits valve(ressort)
