What I loved about Rafe as a villain was that he was the complete polar opposite to Nate himself. Where Nate’s had to fight for everything he’s ever had in life, Rafe didn’t need to because of his family’s wealth. Rafe believed that he’d never really achieved anything in his life and that finding Avery’s treasure was the solution, which eventually led to his descent into madness (trying to kill Nate and rambling about Nate’s previous adventures) and then to his death.

It was only divisive to hardcore fans. Uncharted 4 has a noticeably different tone then the trilogy. And for me personally I don't like how there are no supernatural elements as in the others.
The mocap work on Uncharted 4, with facial expressions espcially was out of this world. You could see the mimics on their faces and tell apart dissapointment from worry and stuff like that. On the other hand, the cast is so amazing. Nearly every character in the game felt so real to me that I was invested in all of them.
@@foodwich2132 I was under the impression the title is just referring to Nate? Because that's like literally his inner turmoil throughout the entire game
Yea I think that applies especially to Sully. At least for Nate you could argue that he didn’t really care if the story was real because he just wanted another adventure with his brother, so he neglected fact checking. Maybe Sully had other motivations that made him more trusting, but the game doesn’t mention it (I don’t think).
Sully was definitely suspicious of Sam especially after the auction heist but he lets Sam slide because Sully is just happy to be back in the game same with how Nate is happy to be back trying experience the thrill of adventure/finding treasure once more (it was an excuse), so you could say that they were both blinded by treasure and fortune and Nate specifically was also blinded by guilt from not being able to help his brother during the time he was locked away.
I think it's actually brought up during a drive with Elena later in the game, with Nate basically mad at himself he didn't go search Alcazar up, so he and Sully probably got a bit too swept up in the excitement just happy to be back in the game in any capacity, plus...y'know, brother you've spent the past fifteen years thinking was dead suddenly not being dead does tend to cloud the mind a bit.
Uncharted 4....IMO... has the best soundtrack of any game. The music when you get in fights... the music symbolizing nate and Elena trying to find happiness despite the love for one another....and my favorite the theme when drake has his final showdown with rafe. Reminds me alot of the dark knight rises... while the original trilogy felt like James cameron... unchart3d 4 felt like Christopher nolan
I tried playing the chloe and... forgetful character number 2's game, but its just boring. They were designed to be side characters who assist in expanding Nates character, on their own they can't hold a game, especially since from what I played, they had no growth or actual character arc. It would have been cool to see chloe figure out she doesn't have to out perform everyone around her to be seen as a worthy equal or gifted archaeologist, and it would have been really nice to see the other one realise not everything needs to be a fight. Like I said, I only played about half the game, so I don't know what the later late game was like, but I saw no hint in character growth.
i love this game, more so than uncharted 2, it’s hard to believe it’s been six years since it came out, i played it like three years ago ans recently replayed it and it’s still one of my favourite games ever, amazing video as always aqua!
Personally, this is my favourite game of all time. I can play it endlessly and I think it’s pretty much flawless, although if I’m nitpicking there are a couple of sections that aren’t necessarily the most fun to replay in my opinion. Apart from that I think, at least in my opinion, it’s the most perfect a game can be. I love everything about it as it even manages to make the most boring missions pretty entertaining, even if they’re not the most enthralling. Great video as always dude!
I don't know if people really care about this, but one of my favourite things about these games is how good the acting and the writing is. Listening characters talk to each other is SOOO entertaining and the performances are so realistic that they make me forget this game has a script.
i believe that the djinn were hallucinations from the water (like sully’s death). when sully and nate meet up again in drakes deception, sully says something like “you’ve been running around crazy like a chicken with its head cut off” or something. i genuinely think that the djinn were not supernatural at all, just a hallucination.
It was supernatural but that was changed due to success of the last of us's more toned down and grounded approach they removed the dijnn but it' made the plot incoherent
I was just watching this video this morning when it was first uploaded, but it was titled: “Uncharted 4: 6 Years Later” What happened??? Since when is this the most device installment? I thought it was the strongest in the series and one of the best finales in gaming history. [SPOILERS] I cried like a baby when Cassie was introduced. It really was coming to a close and all the memories of the series came flooding back.
It was still diverse, some fans didn't like like story, some didn't like the gamplayplay being the same while its the best for most uncharted as a whole been diverse between fans.
I finished replaying A Thief's End like aa week and half ago and I still feel it holds up truly. It still is to me one of the best Playstation games I've ever got to experience and just growing thru the franchise to see the final chapter be a true homage and treasure in respect to the legacy of Drake, Sully and Elena thru the story. Narratively, musically, visually and emotionally it hits right in the core and I felt that again after replaying. Thanks for this vid Aqua
Uncharted 4 is one of my favorite games of all time, really cool seeing you do a video on it. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into all your vids, they're always fun to watch!
When I left for bootcamp the uncharted 3 video had just come out before. Now that I'm back home this is easily the most excited I've been for a video to drop. It's good to be back WHOOOOOOOO YEAH
What a great game. My favorite in the series by far. Aside from the Nate/Elena relationship strain getting a little old on the fourth go, I think this was the perfect swansong for the series. Thanks for the video!
You really captured the complex melancholy and inner conflict of the opening “at home”sections in this analysis. There’s something about that sequence that brings out a ton of emotion in me, and I’m glad I’m not the only one. It’s so carefully crafted.
Honestly, I think this game was the greatest in the entire series. It isn't perfect, but it's good. I love playing the game, and each replay of the game felt special, no matter how many times I'd play it. And I love Nate's slowly changing addiction to treasure. He has an obsession with treasure at first, but when Elena leaves him, it's a bit shifted. He still has the obsession, but he feels ashamed of driving his wife away. But once the truth is revealed about Sam and his Alcazar story, and once Elena comes to save him, he starts caring a bit less about treasure. And when Nate finally gains the guts to apologize, Elena says she forgives him. And that's when Nate's obsession is drained out with care for family. He just wants to get his brother back. Speaking of his brother... Sam's obsession is a bit more major than Nate's, and that's what I like about him. Sure, his nose may be bleeding, he might have a bullet wound, but that doesn't stop him. He will put his life on the line, JUST so he could get an inch closer to fortune. And when the gang is back together, he still wants to go in the mountain, but everyone, even Nate, argues against him. But that doesn't change anything. Sam decieves them, and tries to go for the treasure himself. Even in Avery's burning ship, he manages to grab a couple gold coins to bring back home. And finally, he changes his mind about leading a normal life. He was very skeptical at first. Once he and Nate get to Libertallia, he even says on the chairs that the normal life isn't for him. But, a gear is finally put in place, and he decides that going for a normal life might not be such a bad idea. Also, I wish they'd bring Donut Drake back.
Man, I just wanted to see some footage of the game again after all these years. Wasn't in the least ready for such a deep introspective analysis.. six minutes in and I'm already having an existential moment
Couple notes: other than just cause and spiderman, i dont remember any games pre UC4 having grappling hooks. This game was kindof the catalyst for everything getting a grappling hook. Even dunkey commented on it in his review how no games had grappling hooks. Second: totally agree with the "encounter select" option. Last of Us 2 did it as well, its great for wanting to get really specific on replaying a big moment
Your video made me seriously look over the entire series & my viewpoint on Uncharted 4 in general in a more positive light! It felt off the first time playing it & I was having a fun time, but at the same time there was a disconnect between myself & the game's combat with the different mechanics thrown in, like the verticality & the grappling hook. But the more you told about how the game's mechanics worked, the more I realized how intricate it all is & to give it a second look through to experiment more on how to approach how to play it. This was a wonderfully made video & I applaud you greatly, sir!😻
I just played through this game for the first time and I had no idea about the whole Nadine thing. She was obviously very good at fighting and had a certain finesse that Nate just didn’t have. Nate always felt like he was swinging at random hoping to get in a good punch while Nadine was calculating everything and was treating the fight like a dance. The argument is ironic because Nadine is fighting “like a girl” being very elegant and using her advanced sense of balance and flexibility against Nate who’s just using strength and size to his advantage. I never felt like her fighting was OP and in fact she knew when to back down and she did multiple times
And also this is the first game I’ve played like this aside from Stray. (By that I mean a parkour game with a story and buts of action thrown in) I just got my ps4 two weeks ago and for a fresh player, this game was absolutely perfect. I had no idea what I was doing and found the game to be very difficult at times even though it’s just quick time events. The story was on par for a regular action movie and the combat was better than anything I’ve ever played. I really REALLY enjoyed it and I’m sad to see so many people in the comments saying it’s bland and boring. This game made me desperately want to travel the world and go on adventures and that’s saying a lot for an anxious shut-in like me. I felt so much nostalgia for games I’ve never played before and it made me really emotional. I can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t like this game
I only ever got to play uncharted 1-4 in 2019, all 4 back to back made me experience everything in such a short time I cant even understand how some people played the first one then waited all the time to get to 4. Truly a beautiful series and something I want everyone to play.
Regarding the fact that Rafe and Nadine were underdeveloped, one thing I adore about this game is that every line, every expression, every action, tells you so much about each character. Yes, I absolutely would've loved to see Rafe and Nadine get more screentime, learn more about their purposes, lives and see them grow more, in fact everything I see in the story about them just leaves me wanting to know more and more, but on the other hand, there's SO MUCH said about them in between the lines, in all their scenes or what's commented about them in some encounters where they're not present. Including Sam here, I really felt like they were all real people, that their characters were first thought of and written and not just made up for the convenience of a story, that they all had their own set of mind and philosophies they live by, and (that thing in writing) that the writers were always trying to show you so much about each of them within the limited time each had on screen, and I just love seeing it. Everything about the characters in this game feels made with intent. What I'm trying to say is that I appreciate so much that they didn't take Rafe, Nadine and Sam's scenes as an opportunity to try to shove down your throat all their backstory, philosophy and purpose with unrealistically descriptive dialogues, like "ah yes nadine you know how i really have to find this treasure because otherwise i'll just keep on being known for my inheritance as a spoiled rich boy, and that be real bad for me, so please tell your men, from the organization you got from your father, to stop blowing up everything" (pretty exaggerated but you know what I mean, we've all seen it in other media), and instead, everything about their scenes feels real, on character, and you get to see little glimpses of who they are and what they believe in every single line and facial expression and action and UGH I LOve it so much :)
I actually will debate you that Rafe's story while not the center of attention for the story is more than prevalent enough in every scene he is in and every line of dialogue we hear from him. He has had everything in his life handed to him, it's hinted at by Sully when he says something along the lines of "Running your parents company" and Safe corrects hims stating "My Company" the reason he wants the treasure so badly is because he wants to be remembered by for his own accomplishments which he continually is not remembered or known for. This fear of being remembered as the rich kid who bought everything and had everything given to him is what drives him. It's why he rants at Nate saying "Nathan Drake raced a mad man and his entire army to the steps of shambhala, Nathan Drake found a lost city in the middle of the Rub Al-Kahli desert, Nathan Drake discovered the Fabled El Dorado." This isn't done simply to reference Nates previous adventures it's to tie together that they made Race the exact opposite of Nathan. Orphan Rich boy who was handed everything his entire life VS the Poor Orphan who had to work his entire life to become the legend he is known as. Rate like most doesn't believe Nate actually found those things but it will go down by many that that's who Nathan is and Race didn't want him to be the one who discovered Avery's treasure he wanted it to be him. And of course in the end everything is handed to him by Nate and Sam. Even his death is handed to him as Nate lets Rafes own greed for the treasure and glory kill him.
Thank you for your insights! I was thinking recently a lot about story theme is something like: love versus obsession. And story making definitions: love is about care, trust and respect, it’s requires healthy balanced approach. while obsession is unbalance selfish, alienating and distructive, caused harm and disorder. So hero managed to find love and get his brother out of his obsession, which also reminds plot of helping relative with distructive addiction.
It's been six fucking years?? Holy cow!!! I still remember watching pewdiepie's playthrough when I was in middle school like it was yesterday.... Unbelievable
You have earned a new subscriber and follower. Im in the midst of replaying this entire series and really enjoyed the work you put into all these retrospectives. Awesome work
immediately loved the video when i put it on 1.5 speed and it sounded like you were talking at 2, subscribed by the end. this is such a thoughtful and well put together video.
Though Uncharted 3 will always be my favorite game in the series (I think it’s the most intimately personal story of the bunch), Uncharted 4 is an absolute masterpiece
@@Kyle_Hanson It's not that controversial. I know many people who think that way it pretty much depend of what you are looking for in uncharted game, 3 has the best action, 4 is the pinacle of story.
Even the "Lure of adventure" music from the Uncharted 4 soundtrack has that very same whistle. Lure of adventure clearly meaning the attractive and hard to resist quality of adventure. I listen to the soundtrack everyday and Uncharted 4 is my favourite in the series.
I fuckin love uncharted 4. Its just hard watching the Nadine fight after this guy bodied a a bodybuilder on magic steroids. But can't complain when there's all those shiny collectibles to pick up.
first time seeing one of your videos, just wanted to say; absolutely LOVE how you approached and handled the "CoNtRoVeRsY" surrounding Nadine. it's always been a ridiculous thing listening to people criticisms of her and has never ever felt genuine, and i loved how you handled it as i feel you were perfectly spot on as well as well spoken, bloody well done
I’m gonna be honest, I was shocked when you kept mentioning that you thought the boss fight was underwhelming. I dislike all gun fight boss fights in any video game. I think 4’s boss fight was perfect, melee battles are the most personal way to end a villain and hero’s fight. I also liked that it was fast pace and had cool mechanics of skin and clothes being cut. It also did have that cool contrast as you stated with how thieves and pirates used to fight. I was hyped the entire battle about how great it was for the story to end with that fight. I do wish it had been like the concept art though (Nate and Rafe fighting ontop of the pirate ship instead of inside) the only time I’ve seen a boss fight like that done horribly was last of us 2. Anyways, great video! Love the points you made! I also agree about the Nadine situation. Great stuff!
Robert McKee mentioned on one of his workshops, that theme of "lie" is a canon of love story plot. It's always there drama tension around trust, when in climax lie is revealed and relationships seems to be collapsed, but eventually characters confessed to each other and relationships became even stronger, with new level of ultimate trust.
My problem with the Nadine fight is that it heavily nerfs the player’s abilities in order to achieve its desired result. Nate moves slower, attacks slower, can’t dodge or counterattack. The moment I realised it was essentially just a cutscene, I put the controller down. I don’t come away thinking Nadine is a badass, I come away thinking “that was bullshit”. I probably wouldn’t have a problem if it was just a cutscene, but the fact that it’s presented as a playable encounter ruined it for me.
Uncharted 4 was my first playstation games. So it had a special place in my heart. It has a good multiplayer that was fun and engaging and basically had my favorite game modes also it had an awesome rank system that they sadly dropped. I feel like it's weird that they went for a more mature story by not adding any crazy creatures or the fact that the Style was way too different from how the plot was made.
My favorite part is the couch scene where Nate is playing Crash Bandicoot. Elena does steal the scene. It's such a wholesome moment that is so believable. I just love it. This is definitely my favorite game in the series. I enjoyed that they didn't add any supernatural elements to this game. Kept it nice and grounded.
I have a personal connection to the theme of uncharted 4 because of the games which is beautiful. I wanted to play uncharted 4 almost immediately after uncharted 3 for "just one last ride" and just was not satisfied with the concept of Nate going to get married and living a normal life. Nates fate is exactly that and he too is unsatisfied with it but through the game I learn with nate that maybe a happy ending is enough and there doesnt need to be another go round and to be true... I'm at the same point as Nate, I'm going to be playing lost legacy to have another adventure but I'm really happy that Nate's legend has finally had an ending so like nate, a nice mix between the ending and the adventure
Uncharted 4 and The Lost legacy both left me with 2 big issues. 1) The melee combat was jarringly poor compared to the rest of the excellent gameplay. 2) It ended, my biggest problem was that there wasn’t more and no other game could itch the same spot. I really hope they eventually go through with the Sam/Sully game they teased at the end
people really have problems with nadine kicking nates ass? like, shes a professionally trained fighter, it doesn't matter how bigger or stronger nate is, actual training will beat someone like nate almost every time
As a very casual gamer, Uncharted 4 is my favorite game ever, not just in the Uncharted series. The story is captivating, the graphics are incredible, the dialogue is super fun (amazing acting), the characters are rich, the pace is perfect, the action is super satisfying, all of it is superb in my humble opinion. I have been replaying it every year since it came out and will continue to do so for as long as I can.
SPOILERS I absolutely love near the end where you see Henry Avery just go absolutely insane in the cave. You just see very specific bones just hanging with signs saying why. "The hands who stole from me" just hands "The hearts that hardened against me" rib cages "The mouths that spoke ill of me" just jaws. And even though these are just bones, the implications are brutal. I just imagine torsos and lower mouths just hanging in the cave just cause he went absolutely insane
You are the first person i've heard to call Uncharted 4 divisive, this game is basically pretty much widely praised as the best in the series in terms of story and gameplay and a perfect closure to Drake's story.
i mean, i understood rafe's motivations long before he straight up stated them; it seemed pretty obvious between his little comments (like the fake smile dropping when he says "it's my company now" and honestly the whole convo with sully), his smarmy fake charm act, and the news clipping in nate's journal. everything about him screams insecurity + entitlement which leads to exactly his behavior and motivations
Great video to take us down memory lane. One thing i wish you touched on was the ally AI and how they can help you especially in stealth situations where you see them take down enemies and help point them out to you compared to the older entries in the series.
LOVE your analysis of Nadine, because that was my thought too. Nate isn't trained in combat and a huge portion of these games is Nate's luck and how it influences the story. Through the canonical cutscenes, we see that past bosses were always ultimately defeated by a gun. Nate got lucky up to this point that his scrapping abilities carried the day; it makes sense that a canonically trained fighter would kick his ass.
Within this week just for the first time played & finished Drakes Collection on PS5, immediately got The Legacy of Thieves Collection, finished 4 yesterday and started Lost Legacy today, these are now part of my all time favorite games, WOW, so good, really hope there is more to come, 😁🎮✌️
Just played this game on PC and it blew my damn mind. Having grown up with the first 3 on PS3 it really blew me away how much they packed into this game.
Uncharted 4 is my favourite as it removes the monsters and just allows for a grounded (as much as an uncharted game can be anyway) story. It did lack in big events like the plane scene from 3 and the train from 2. Either way it is by far my favourite and the game I see as the best
I really liked the video. I discovered the Uncharted series with the final chapter and, during the lockdown, I was handed the trilogy for free. I'm no kidding by saying that I speed ran the entire trilogy in little more than a week (being trapped at home was a huge help). I loved every aspect of it. It quickly became one of my favourite game serie ever.
I Really appreciated the video and the parallels you did on how you relate with the game and connect with the characters adventures. It was an element I really liked on this video with obviously the analysis of the game (as you always deliver on your videos). Keep up with the great content. Have an nice day.
8 years later i still play this game and is my most fav game of all time and has a place in my heart that no other game will ever take. For people to say that game is ruined is just crap
I literally played this game like 3 years ago but got stuck at one part when I forgot how to climb up the rope (I know Im so fucking dumb) and before 2 months I decided to finish it and I remembered what thrill I experienced while playing I finished the game without hesitation. It was also my first game I ever played after getting the ps4 and the feeling to just go back to it was amazing. Personally I think this is one of the best games in the new generation. Thank you Naughty dog for delivering such a masterpiece to us. Thank you!
Still killing it with the reviews man. Still inspiring. I may just be biased because Uncharted is probably my favorite franchise but good video none the less haha
I actually love the bits focused on the pirates, the idea that all the worlds most famous pirates came together to build their own paradise is cool as hell, and one hell of a dream... but that's all it is, a dream, and we see that here, pirates in reality are traitorous dogs, they had it all, a perfect retirement, but Avery and Tew just wanted more. And we see Nate with the same thoughts of it being awesome... and then he finds the table of dead pirates, history's greatest pirates defeated, not by sword and gun, but by poison, at a meeting to discuss peace. And then we reach the end, all the gold of every pirate, more than enough for 2 men to split and live like kings, hell enough for their descendants to live like kings... and yet again it still isn't enough, and we find them dead at each others hands. One has to wonder if while they bled to death from their wounds, did they regret what they threw away, or were they proud to be pirates to the bitter end.
In 4 you have a similar mechanic to thief vision where you can mark enemies you can see by aiming at them and pressing a button. When they go behind cover you can see a white outline.
It always irked me how she just pulls a karma houdini and having the nerve to have a lecture when she’s been involved in far worse with her group pre-Uncharted 4. If the player couldn’t get one over her, at least let Elena do us the honours.

I almost missed it but right before she walks out of the room you can see tears streaming from her eyes
I had no idea Uncharted 4 was divisive. Seems like most people loved it from what I’ve seen.
It isn't, its a clickbait title
@@foodwich2132 it was somewhat divisive but it still was positive for the most part
@@foodwich2132
Was the title changed or something? Because the current one isn't a clickbait
@@foodwich2132 I was under the impression the title is just referring to Nate? Because that's like literally his inner turmoil throughout the entire game
He changed it after it underperformed and then changed it again once he realized the new one was dumb.
My biggest criticism is that Nate and especially Sully were not more suspicious of Sam’s story, they could’ve simply google Alcazar and saw he’s dead.
I think it should also be noted that with combination of what both Nate and Sully went through, Sam's story wasn't so ridiculous.
@@lewhanwen4302 I was going to comment this. Perfectly said!
That "whistle" is what is called a "leitmotif" in music. One of my favorite details in the game.
Thank you
Uncharted 4....IMO... has the best soundtrack of any game.

@@kevinsteel7875one of my favourite side characters in the series
I tried playing the chloe and... forgetful character number 2's game, but its just boring. They were designed to be side characters who assist in expanding Nates character, on their own they can't hold a game, especially since from what I played, they had no growth or actual character arc. It would have been cool to see chloe figure out she doesn't have to out perform everyone around her to be seen as a worthy equal or gifted archaeologist, and it would have been really nice to see the other one realise not everything needs to be a fight.
Like I said, I only played about half the game, so I don't know what the later late game was like, but I saw no hint in character growth.
Wake up imaginary babe Boy aqua posted a video.

im awake and so excited
That is hilarious! Well played going man!!!

i love this game, more so than uncharted 2, it’s hard to believe it’s been six years since it came out, i played it like three years ago ans recently replayed it and it’s still one of my favourite games ever, amazing video as always aqua!
Same
I loved it when it first came out, but over time I like it less and less. The lack of a supernatural element doesn't sit right with me.
@@mlrestrepo7093 That is why I loved the game more than the others. The supernatural elements always brought out the worst in the gameplay to me.
8 years now, 2016 was just peak
I love that the “whistle” is kinda like a Siren’s song, drawing Nate’s attention into the allure of adventure and the unknown
It scares the sh*t out of me to realize that it's been 6 years already. Feels like yesterday

Listening characters talk to each other is SOOO entertaining and the performances are so realistic that they make me forget this game has a script.
couldnt agree more and i think this gave the game and story more depth❤ and makes characters more intriguing and relatable to u
Uncharted's soundtrack will forever be burned into my memory, it's so simplistic, yet feels so enlightening to listen to
The entire time you're on the island is just so breathtaking. The sound design and visuals suck you in and brings you to the island.
i believe that the djinn were hallucinations from the water (like sully’s death). when sully and nate meet up again in drakes deception, sully says something like “you’ve been running around crazy like a chicken with its head cut off” or something. i genuinely think that the djinn were not supernatural at all, just a hallucination.
It was supernatural but that was changed due to success of the last of us's more toned down and grounded approach they removed the dijnn but it' made the plot incoherent
I was just watching this video this morning when it was first uploaded, but it was titled: “Uncharted 4: 6 Years Later”
What happened??? Since when is this the most device installment? I thought it was the strongest in the series and one of the best finales in gaming history.
[SPOILERS]
I cried like a baby when Cassie was introduced. It really was coming to a close and all the memories of the series came flooding back.
it's clickbait lol
It was still diverse, some fans didn't like like story, some didn't like the gamplayplay being the same while its the best for most uncharted as a whole been diverse between fans.
I'm looking at this in 23 6 years later would make less sense
I finished replaying A Thief's End like aa week and half ago and I still feel it holds up truly. It still is to me one of the best Playstation games I've ever got to experience and just growing thru the franchise to see the final chapter be a true homage and treasure in respect to the legacy of Drake, Sully and Elena thru the story. Narratively, musically, visually and emotionally it hits right in the core and I felt that again after replaying.
Thanks for this vid Aqua
With the nadin thing in lost legacy she says she was born in shoreline meaning they trained the second she was old enough
Uncharted 4 is one of my favorite games of all time, really cool seeing you do a video on it. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into all your vids, they're always fun to watch!
I didn’t know people had a problem with Nadine lol, sometimes it’s never that deep
Believe me, maaaaaaany people have issues with her... maybe about 90% of the fanbase.
It was mainly people who were butthurt that she was able to beat Nathan in a fight
When I left for bootcamp the uncharted 3 video had just come out before. Now that I'm back home this is easily the most excited I've been for a video to drop. It's good to be back WHOOOOOOOO YEAH
Welcome back, king
@@ThatBoyAqua if I'm a king then you are like
God or something idk
What a great game. My favorite in the series by far. Aside from the Nate/Elena relationship strain getting a little old on the fourth go, I think this was the perfect swansong for the series. Thanks for the video!
You really captured the complex melancholy and inner conflict of the opening “at home”sections in this analysis. There’s something about that sequence that brings out a ton of emotion in me, and I’m glad I’m not the only one. It’s so carefully crafted.
This game has stuck with me throughout my years and it’s in my top 5 games of all time. Such a great game and a perfect ending for Nathan Drake
Hands down my favorite one, it made me finally care about the characters and retroactively like the other games more.
Bravo for standing up for Nadine. Didn't even know people had issues with her.

Though Uncharted 3 will always be my favorite game in the series (I think it’s the most intimately personal story of the bunch), Uncharted 4 is an absolute masterpiece
You know what, I respect you for being one of the only people on YT to voice your opinion even if it's controversial
@@Kyle_Hanson It's not that controversial. I know many people who think that way it pretty much depend of what you are looking for in uncharted game, 3 has the best action, 4 is the pinacle of story.
@@archeogeek315 I highly doubt that. I bet those people never played other Uncharted games thats for sure lol
Even the "Lure of adventure" music from the Uncharted 4 soundtrack has that very same whistle. Lure of adventure clearly meaning the attractive and hard to resist quality of adventure. I listen to the soundtrack everyday and Uncharted 4 is my favourite in the series.
I would love if Naughty Dog did a remake of the Uncharted trilogy, improving the puzzles and adding the stealth and rope features found in Uncharted 4
Also making the world a lot bigger so the game can feel longer as the 4th game.
If they gave Uncharted 2 updated gameplay and made the final boss fun, it would be the perfect game
This is one of the most impressive games ive ever played and I enjoyed it very much.
I witnessed every title change this video had
Uncharted 4 is a masterpiece.
I fuckin love uncharted 4. Its just hard watching the Nadine fight after this guy bodied a a bodybuilder on magic steroids. But can't complain when there's all those shiny collectibles to pick up.
I've clicked on this video 3 times and each time it had a different thumbnail and title I was so confused lmao
I thought Uncharted 4 was on par with 2 and I absolutely loved it
4 was my first uncharted game. I absolutely loved it
Wow... It's been 6 years already
I've never heard anyone ever say uncharted 4 was terrible and ruined the franchise until right now
first time seeing one of your videos, just wanted to say; absolutely LOVE how you approached and handled the "CoNtRoVeRsY" surrounding Nadine. it's always been a ridiculous thing listening to people criticisms of her and has never ever felt genuine, and i loved how you handled it as i feel you were perfectly spot on as well as well spoken, bloody well done
Love this game… just finished it today and am in love
8:24 not the ocean, the Mississippi River. They live in New Orleans
Never stop making videos! This video made me very happy when it popped onto my feed
I am a player that usually skips all dialogue and optional interactions, but this game makes you want to do those at every opportunity and I love it.
Oh thank you for posting this, i was bored out of my mind trying to find something to watch, this'll be a good time!
That boy aqua, man. I'm telling ya!
Thanks for the awesome video bro
Uncharted 4 and The Lost legacy both left me with 2 big issues. 1) The melee combat was jarringly poor compared to the rest of the excellent gameplay. 2) It ended, my biggest problem was that there wasn’t more and no other game could itch the same spot. I really hope they eventually go through with the Sam/Sully game they teased at the end
people really have problems with nadine kicking nates ass?
like, shes a professionally trained fighter, it doesn't matter how bigger or stronger nate is, actual training will beat someone like nate almost every time
I just finished watchinng the 3 Uncharteds videos while playing black flag, now you realease this as soon as i finish watching, thanks that boy water
Funnily enough, I loved the hell out of the original 3 for its fun....and this is my favorite one by far. I love this game. I love it to death.
The words in the end gave me goosebumps, holy cow.
Just finished playing this again the other day. Perfect timing
SPOILERS
I absolutely love near the end where you see Henry Avery just go absolutely insane in the cave. You just see very specific bones just hanging with signs saying why.
"The hands who stole from me" just hands
"The hearts that hardened against me" rib cages
"The mouths that spoke ill of me" just jaws.
And even though these are just bones, the implications are brutal. I just imagine torsos and lower mouths just hanging in the cave just cause he went absolutely insane
Uncharted 4 is easily the best one honestly dunno who says it’s one of the worst 🤷♀️
Within this week just for the first time played & finished Drakes Collection on PS5, immediately got The Legacy of Thieves Collection, finished 4 yesterday and started Lost Legacy today, these are now part of my all time favorite games, WOW, so good, really hope there is more to come, 😁🎮✌️
What an amazing video... My congrats! Still waiting for the lost legacy video though!
"Uncharted 4 isnt fun" He says while hanging off of a moving car, going against a tactical van on a motorcycle and beating a woman.
YASS. MY BOY FINALLY DID IT. I've been waiting for this for so long bro. Ur vids are gold, I'm gonna enjoy this one
Would love to see a game about Cassie Drake, maybe with appearances from Tenzins daughter and an older Chloe, Nadine and Charlie
In 4 you have a similar mechanic to thief vision where you can mark enemies you can see by aiming at them and pressing a button. When they go behind cover you can see a white outline.
I disagree, but understand people preferring 2 over 4, but saying this is bad is just dumb.
Uncharted 4 is among my favorite games of all time. It's SO good!
I've been waiting for this since February. Amazing
Nadine is a great example of a “strong FEMALE character”
Chloe and Elena are examples of “strong characters”
It always irked me how she just pulls a karma houdini and having the nerve to have a lecture when she’s been involved in far worse with her group pre-Uncharted 4. If the player couldn’t get one over her, at least let Elena do us the honours.
Nadine is boring to me, and they include her in Lost Legacy instead Charlie Cutter 🙄
@@sander5765 Shame he wasn’t even referenced in Lost Legacy like in 4.
You’re right Aqua, Elaina steals the show in every scene she’s in. So well acted!
