Yes, his motto is that the listener has to feel the song without understanding the language. And yes, he rhymes on different languages and mixes them together Korean English Japanese and he uses words from other languages as well.

RM is known for playing with multiple languages. Rhyming and making references and analogies that work across the different languages. “Trivia: Love” is a great example of that.
“Around the World In a Day” is my personal favorite on Right Place, Wrong Person.

the Adidas fit is deliberate throwback, Korean fashion is now more forward than US. He is throwing back to 80s in more ways than one, love this track. Whole album is great.

RM/Kim Namjoon has spoken at the UN, the Whitehouse, and has received numerous awards for being diplomatic... the most diplomatic voice for young people across the world so the line is funny, but people expect him to be proper when he gets stomped on but not so much in his eyes, RM means Real Me. He is a very proper speaker and the team loves him. They even received awards from Korea for puting SK on the map economically. This guy has an IQ148 and is very smart, nature lover, heavy reader, and still a boy in someway. Every album is a change up of style - genious. Indigo he had a quest on each song and wrote about things like an art piece, and still life paint. Check it all out.

RM and SUGA can rhyme in Korean and English for the same lyrics. I've seen it many times, and it blows my mind. These guys are genius's and master lyricists. RM started out as a poet, and his poetry and lyricism have gotten better over the years with all the experience he got. Not to mention that the man reads all the time and he's one of the main songwriters for BTS, since before debut.
San Yawn is his partner on this project, from Balming Tiger - alternative K-Pop collective group. He started this project right before J-Hope enlisted in the miltiary and RM was going to go at the same time. San Yawn said RM needed to do another album before he enlisted, so he worked with him and his team. I'm glad he did, because he gave us a masterpeice. RIGHT PLACE WRONG PERSON alternative album.

RM is a great writing in English and Korean, picks like words and rhyme. This is what he is known for and words always have a double meaning depending on what he is saying. Check out older stuff, and BTS rapline Ddaeng, Ugh, and Tear... all these have words which double down. there are also explanation videos to understand why? Especiall Ddaeng. he is so good.

Yes, I love how funky this song sounds. RM is a poet. That's how he wrote his songs. For those who knew all the things happened to him and BTS definitely can relate to this song.
Bbangsang is Korean meme. It's kinda form of alien speech or gibberish. Probably what he meant was it's not worth talking to those people properly as they aren't worth to consider as human. Nothing is simple with RM😅😂.

RM once said that he pays a lot of attention to how song sounds, how words hit your ear.
And it is true, cause to me I absolutely fell in love with BTS songs because of hiw they sound and how they use words and voice changes, inflictions, emotions. I don't have to know translation to understand that what emotion is behind song and that there is smth they are telling us. And their lyrics are just cream and cherry on top! Makes you learn souch from cultural references to astronomy😅

Oh no that is not a coincidence this man is a genius a IQ 148 this is our fearless leader usually graceful turn the other cheek dont engage Army losing his fucking mind in the best way and finally after 10 years of turning the other cheek and being the bigger man telling haters off it's delicious! No you are mistaken it's not what you think the word means bulshit basically not the thing you made the shape of your fingers funny enough the thing that you did is bts's calling card what none of the seven will it ever hurt anyone

  • @AlexaOleksa

6:45 it sounds similar to English because ut is in English. RM mixes two languages in a song. And all his songs heavily. He also does double and triple entendres in Korean and English. In BTS songs they also use English, sometimes it is one word, sometime a hook, for it to be catchy for international audience etc.

"Not a f'in diplomat" was in English, it was just where RM put the emphasis on the syllables that perhaps made you think that it was a Korean word. Also, the translation of Korean lyrics to English is not word for word. RM rhymes Korean with Korean, English with English, and brilliantly, Korean with English. But when you see English captions on Korean verses, it's not RM writing those, and because translation is not word for word it's unlikely that they will rhyme. In fact, English CCs are usually simplified on MV translation, and do not capture the intricacies and nuances of the Korean language.

Nothing BTS does is a coincidence. RM has an IQ of 148 and considered himself a poet before he found rap and hiphop. His wordplay is always 100% intentional; there is even wordplay in other BTS songs between Korean, English, and Chinese.

As of June 8th, RM's album (RPWP) was number 1 on Billboards top hip hop album charts. BUT, we are talking about a member of BTS here, so chances are you would not know this information. I mean, number 1 for an alternative rap album sung mostly in Korean? What an achievement. If he doesn't get at least a Grammy nom in the best hip hop or best album categories then that will be a travesty.💜

Allow yourself to just enjoy the music first. That is what I do. I then go back to understand the lyrics which includes translations of the words as well as the cultural translations and other contexts. Then I go back in and listen to the song and / or rap again. If you like the vibe of this one I think you will like the whole album too.

BTS rapline are among the best rappers in the world. They are RM, Suga/Agust D and j-hope. Each of them has multiple solo albums, and there are also BTS songs with just the rapline together and solo rap songs from rapline members on the BTS albums. All the BTS members have solo songs on BTS albums.
    RM Albums
    RM
    Mono
    Indigo
    Right Place Wrong Person
    Agust D Albums
    Agust D
    D2
    D-Day
    j-hope Albums
    Hope World
    Jack in the Box
    Hope on the Street
    BTS rapline songs
Outro: Tear (a gut punch, watch the live from Wembley in the black Dior fit, they are ON FIRE
UGH! (recommended to watch DKDTV's explanation video affter to help unpack lyrics for language nuance and cultural context)
Ddaeng (also watch the DKDKTV explanation video after you have a crack at it, or you will miss a lot)
    Cypher Series 1-4
plus lots of other solo songs from BTS albums like Intro: Persona, Interlude: Shadow, Outro: Ego, and many more. Each one of BTS' albums, as a group they have 20 and as soloists they have 14, is a concept album with tracks in a storytelling order, and some of the albums are linked in sets or series on themes.
There is a TON of fantastic music you get to discover for the first time. I'm jealous. BTS has hundreds and hundreds of songs and there are no skips as far as I am concerned.

It's coz he's the leader of a very influential band and the only one who's fluent in English. Everyone wants him to speak up about all the troubles in the world and express an opinion on it. That's why he says just because they became successful, everyone wants them to step it up. And he's right, he's not a diplomat and BTS doesn't have to be.

Here is some extra info on RM for you...
Name Kim Namjoon Born in 1994
He is BTSs leader, main rapper, composer, songwriter, producer... he has over 220 song copyrights and is the youngest and most credited Idol and a full member of the Korea copyright association
He is known for his deep lyrics and moving speeches.
Predebut RM, known under the names Runch Randa, Largo, Stealo, and the Nexist in the underground hiphop community was already a prodigy in rap despite being 13years old (he started in the underground scene at 11 years old) impressing other rappers. RunchRanda which basically meant 'I am Runcha', he has said it was inspired by a Maple Story game character he had at the time.
He was known to be so good that even older underground rappers in their 20s and 30s didn't wanna battle against him.
Also, because of his low-midtone voice, philosophical lyrics and flashy rap skills he gained popularity among hiphop fans. (Jungkook of BTS joined the same agency as he had been so impressed the first time he saw RM perform...)
Throughout 2008-2010 , RM (Runch Randa or Randa ) was mentioned multiple times by other rappers in their songs mostly complimenting RM or wishing they had skills or fame as him. An example for that is when Zico* made a diss song to Philophon (35yo) who is also a rapper saying "you got your ass handed to you by a 13 yr old Runch" referencing that Philophon already lost to teen Namjoon.
RM joined BigHit in 2010 at 15 years old. His audition.was watched by the CEO BangShiHyuk and RM was offered a contract on the spot.... He was 18 when BTS debuted.
    💜

The "Bbang-sang Halmeoni" (빵상 할머니) meme comes from a Korean TV show where an elderly woman portrayed a quirky, eccentric fortune-teller. She became famous for chanting strange, nonsensical phrases, including the memorable "bbang-sang." Her exaggerated and comedic delivery, combined with the absurdity of the phrase, quickly made this a viral meme in Korea.
RM makes a playful nod to this well-known meme.

A música 'Groin' de RM, é uma expressão crua e direta de frustração e rebeldia. A letra aborda a presença de pessoas irritantes e incompreensíveis no mundo, e a resposta do artista a essas situações. RM não se preocupa em ser diplomático ou em representar alguém além de si mesmo. Ele enfatiza sua individualidade e a necessidade de se expressar livremente, sem se importar com as opiniões alheias.
A repetição de frases como 'Get yo ass out the trunk' e 'I fuck it up' reforça a atitude desafiadora e a recusa em se conformar com as expectativas sociais.
