Baseball is a different sport than the NBA and NFL. The baseball codes are as important as anything in the sport. You never flip you bat. If you do Bryan , you deserve a broken wrist during your next at bat. The showboating NFL and NBA do not have a link to their history like baseball does. If you flip your bat, you are shaming Ted Williams. Because he never did it because the players before him never did it. This is not a game about histrionics and showing off. It is a game about humility and whose best games involve little scoring. The sport has been ruined by fathers who didn't teach the game to their sons and daughters. They just sent them to center to play arcade games instead of quizzing them on the top 20 pitchers with the most MLB wins. I got beamed many times during my playing career, and I never charged the mound once. It''s why when Tom Glavine tried to avoid hitting his former teammate Dale Murphy during a team dispute, Murphy went to the Braves dug out afte the game and challenged Glavine to fight, saying his was a pussy for nor hitting him and hitting him hard. I argue that any so-called fan that doesn't respect the basketball codes should not be allowed in a MLB baseball park, They need to read their history. I think some context is needed for the first home run with Billy Butler. The catcher framed a pitch inside and got the call, then framed a pitch outside and wanted the call, so Billy Butler told the catcher, "You can't have both" and the catcher took offense. They got into a bit of a heated argument and then Butler went deep in that at bat, that's why he was so fired up.

The response in those days would have been a ball in the next batters head or that player being spiked later in the game on a slide attempt...all depends on their position. I say who cares. It's now 2019 and people want to see long homeruns and their favorite players celebrate those shots.
@@spotdog Yeah it was definitely at one point a unwritten rule to not show up your opponents but it was still done going all the way back to when Ruth played read many articles how the dugout would harass him wile he was up at bat and he did the same. I just dont like how alot of these pitchers today throw a hissy fit about it like you mentioned back than if it happend the player was delt with end of story. I just feel its bein way to over looked at to where players even get a bad reputation for really nothing. Chances are if a player is trying to show off its cause they're that fucking good so instead of bitching try to show him up by striking his ass out.
I remember the Bautista blast so clearly. To be fair it was an incredibly intense and emotional moment. I remember jumping up and screaming like I was there. The bat flip was justified and it was brilliant.
The lack of extension on Puig's swing is so unsettling to watch.
Nicholas England ??? he had a .163 avg in one of the clips LMAO he can only hit one pitch which is inside corner
John Milker it was like 6 games into the season
Puig: Batting average below .200, team last in division, proceeds to bat flip.
IMO the most disrespectful (in a good way) thing I have seen was when Derek Deitrich stood still after his bomb into the river against the pirates.
1-1 from Dyson
BAUTISTA WITH A DRIVE
DEEP LEFT FIELD
NO DOUBT ABOUT IT
*air horn*
Gabe Sapiga that low pitch air horn at Skydome... Love it!
Gabe Sapiga *crowd goes ballistic*
This is baby stuff compared to KBO lol
It’s way different in Korea. The hitters finish high, making it easier to just flip the bat away Han to drop it. In the US, they swing different and they can’t do the same bat flip. It’s easier for them to just drop the bat so it is disrespectful to flip the bat in the US.
in Korea bat flip is just a action to reduce the impact which came from swinging the bat
theres no inherent disrespect by fliping it

@@timdixon32 too bad they’re still gonna bat flip Tatis jr changing the game. Heck manny Ramirez bat flipped all the time Roger Clemens tried to throw at him and manny came right at him. ua-cam.com/video/hc6ndg8vgUo/v-deo.html
The kind of crap that baseball players get their panties in a bunch over just cracks me up lmao.
😂😂😂 that's disrespectful? I get why people think that baseball is so boring. The lack of emotion is crazy
Xavier Marks only people with no attention span find it boring, and it’s “disrespectful “ as in instead of just dropping the bat enjoying the bomb you just hit.
Now my question is: how can you get mad at someone celebrating?”
I could watch clips like this FOREVER. Fuck a pitcher's feelings. It's gamesmanship not sportsmanship. You crush a home run and you deserve to celebrate however you want, like a touchdown. I never will understand the "disrespect" part of a bat flip. Korean players have turned bat flips into an art form.
My favorite parts were when the guy at 2:43 refused to throw it back and when the kid at 3:29 got nailed in the shoulder.
kid looked legit happy to have his shoulder sent off
It's amazing how butt hurt players get because someone celebrated their hit. They should watch Korean baseball.
Its disrespectful to the game in america but it is tradition in korea basically
It's more than celebration though. The player flipping is trying to send a message to the pitcher. That's why they get mad
@@davidgengenbacher7824 don't pitch a fastball down the middle then
@@kieferculligan4029 I have nothing against bat flips. But if you send someone a message you shouldn't be a cry baby when you get a message back. It's a part of the game
@@davidgengenbacher7824 because throwing a hard ball 95 mph at someone's ribcage is equal to celebrating a homerun
United States: pitchers can be Ceremonies, hitters can't be Ceremonies.
Korea: Both are OK.
Bat Flip in the U.S.: Throwing hard and provoking after a long look
Korean Bat Flip: When you hit a home run, you swing it right away, throw it right away, and don't provoke it
Pitchers need to grow up. “He’s happy he hit a home run! Eject him!”
HOW ARE THESE DISRESPECTFUL? OR AM I JUST Insensitive?
Insensitive jerk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No

I feel bad for chuckling, rip Mac Miller
When I clicked on this video I was like is this going to be five minutes of yasiel puig and i was not that wrong
Korean : Are they even bat flips lol😂
The heck, you call these bat flips? Go watch some Korean pro baseball if you want to see bat flips. Half of these is Puig making it easier for the batboy to collect his bat. ;-p
yojironin I apologize in America we don’t flip the bat 400 times into the crowd
@@nicholasthompson2055 😂😂😂
If you linked me to a Korean bat flip that would be helpful
I honestly don’t see why players get so pissed off from bat flips. If anything, get pissed off at the pitcher for giving up the homer.
koreans : 🤷
I dont even think they are disrespectful, it's passion and excitement coming out. That's all
As long as no one gets hit by the bat it's all good
Anyone here looking for KBO bat flips?
It’s way different
It’s way different in Korea. The hitters finish high, making it easier to just flip the bat away Han to drop it. In the US, they swing different and they can’t do the same bat flip. It’s easier for them to just drop the bat so it is disrespectful to flip the bat in the US.
@@timdixon32 I can see your comment in every where and.... I'm sorry if I sound a bit rude, but your comment really isn't helping at all. Being easier to bat flip or not has nothing to do with celebrating your homerun nor being disrespectful. It's really just a, quote unquote, 'cultural' difference. MLB see it as being disrespectful while KBO considers as a show and performance.
고광희 in US it is being disrespectful because they are going extra to do it. They are showing up the pitcher which is disrespectful.
고광희 you’re not being rude but I don’t think I am either. I agree with my comment as s pitcher myself in America. I would be seriously pissed if someone in US did a bag flip off me.
Bro whichever announcer called the unforgettable inning was goatee. “You’ve been playing with fire for so long. And it’s gonna burn you.” Literally gives me chillse
Harold Reynolds I think
You should do a video about last play of every World Series oh and nice vid
If they don't like the celebration there's something very easy to do next time: strike him out
Baseball is a different sport than the NBA and NFL. Baseball is just a money grab, nothing more nothing less
If pitchers don’t want bat flips they just have to stop throwing home runs.
You are such an inspiration to me and my UA-cam channel thank you so much Wesley

These batflips are just jokes. Welcome to KBO.

I will never get tired of bat flips. Ever.
Love how Puig was on here like 5 times. Dude was a beast at the reds.
Koreans: what's wrong wih this????
Really good bat flips. Feels good to hit a home run. Dont think its intentional always, just the beast coming out. Great video
If I was on the Royals, me and Tim Anderson were going to fight 🤣
I've seen that Bautista bat flip so many times, as a Rangers fan it still hurts.
jus have rougned odor smack him back to reality again lol
everett grover 🧂🧂🧂🧂
I used to be a rangers fan and I saw it live when Bautista Got Punched by Odor.
Would it be disrespectful if the batter just held on to the bat all the way home instead of flipping it or would they get mad at him for not flipping the bat?
Chad Davis u can’t run to first with the bat though
Can somebody help me out here, idn why this is considered disrespectful
This is totally cute for a Korean to see😂😂
You knew Joey Batz would be #1 .. I was watching that game live at a bar during university (Jays fan, in Canada) and the place went absolutely nuts!
If Odor was pitching Bautista would not have flipped his bat like that
Woodrow Woody that was so dumb 😂
If the rangers didn’t choke so much, that wouldn’t have even happened.
BAUTISTA'S WAS NOT DISRESPECTFUL. it was in the playoffs, 7th inning, and the score was close. what disrespectful is when u get a homer in the first inning and bat flip... in other words... Puig
hehe ya..... its called the "DEATH STARE".
Why is this a controversial topic? Even by sports standards the bat flip bs comes off really pretentious.
I don’t get how any dodgers fans can miss Puig. To be fair, he’s a great player, but has a terrible attitude. I hate him so much.

@Barrier Boy but like should you not show up your opponent? Surely there are less idiotic ways to get back at a player or team aside from throwing at them.
Barrier Boy baseball culture seems like it revolves around the mentality of a soft and overly offended millennial.
I hate that flipping a bat is frowned upon especially by pitcher but hitting a batter on purpose with a 90 mile p/h pitch is perfectly fine.

My favorite part about the Bautista bat flip is how right after he crushes the ball, all but the one camera starts shaking around from all the hype in the stadium. Must have been electric in there
