Is there a way to get in touch with you? I have a great les paul I'd like to turn into a nitro dark back gold top. deep dark translucent finish on the back and a darker copper aged gold on the front. no relicing. its a 2002 les paul classic.

if the wood of the body is so important to the final sound as luthiers say, why do you guys always fill it up with holes, wires, metals and plastics? those are acoustic obstacles. chhanges in constructive materials work as acoustic filters, that let somme frequencies pass threw, but stop or reflect some others. why the guitar shapes prioritize ergonomy over acoustic? guitars shapes are not audiodynamic, they don't have water drop shapes, or elyptical, or spyromorphic features, such as the volutes in violins heads. it's the oposite, they have cuts to make them easy and more confortable to play, os just to look cool. why there are no guitars whhich have the electronics on a board outside the body of the guitar? that would defenitely improve the inner conduction of sound waves, I'm I wrong?

    Hey BD
Question on the steps I am dying a maple top guitar with Angelus dye here are my steps, let me know if this is correct.
    1. Sand back to smooth around 400 grit
    2. Dye darker color and dand back
    3. Dye lighter color
    4. Spray vinyl sanding sealer 2 coats.
    5. Sand back to 600 800
    6. Zpoxy grain fill and sand back to 600 to 800
    7. I have an airbrush stencil im doing here.
    8. Spray 2 more coats of vinyl sealer
    9. Sand back to 800
    10. 3 coats of Spraymax 2k clear
    11. Sand back to 1000 level sand
    12. 3 more coats of 2k
    13. Level and polish sand
    14. Buff
    Thanks

That dark line in the wood on the lefthand side really bugged me. If I had bought that online, I'd want to return it.
I was expecting you would have to keep the black really thin, because if the black touched that dark it would make it look like the black extended to all of that dark stripe, too. So, I thought you would have to keep a little separation to keep it from blending together, but you made it work. I wouldn't have been able to

I like the burst, but not the guitar body itself……not your fault, nice work.

    Cool D
That dye looks better than the RIT dye, I got a bottle of royal blue and it more like a black purple but I seen you use navy blue was it? And it went on blue, have you had something like this happen …

You've probably already answered this, but you know how tru oil really brings out the grain in something dyed. Will the sanding sealer affect this in any way? Would the grain pop as much if I just gloss coat it anf forgo the tru oil?

Jems almost need paint to deal with all the contours and routs but all in all, you did good as usual! ✌️&💙
