    Nice exercise in engineering. I’ve been looking for a project to try. For my thread cutter and this looks like just the thing. If only I had the time... so many ideas on UA-cam. But this is a good one. Thanks for uploading.

    blade can break easily while performing heavy duties like cutting steel pipes. this is because distal end is free. for small works, it is useful. nice

  • @dyer2cycle
    @dyer2cycle 5 років тому +1

    ..you are ingenious if you came up with design yourself, and great fabrication work! Problem with this, though, is most people don't have the time or skills necessary to make this work right themselves, and if you had it mass produced, it would have a tough time competing with the cheap $20.00 Chinese made and/or used Sawzalls readily available.....that is basically what this is...a sawzall adaptor for a drill. But don't be discouraged, with these skills, you will eventually come up with something unique and groundbreaking! :)

  • @nickduggan3084
    @nickduggan3084 4 роки тому +1

    Excellent idea. I would definitely try to patent that and sell it. No reason you shouldnt get paid well for that invention. One criticism I do have it that might get very hot fast because of what looks like metal on metal friction between your driving pin (the one that holds the saw blade) and the metal frame that it sits on. Im sure a small tweak would keep it cooler and last much longer.

    A very ingenious and clever way to solve a simple problem. Bravo!!! I've seen small peristaltic pumps (they have long 'shafts' - the shape of distorted screw threads - that rotate CW or CCW horizontally, and these "lobes" move - for instance - thick ink solution in one direction or another by rotating CW or CCW). That, could be used to 'extend' the blade's stroke in your design. Thank you very much.

    Super creative. I would have done it with a longer saw range using a bigger wheel, and a different mechanism, but your design is probably more practical and smaller, but less effective in sawing. But still. What a great idea. Rotational to linear conversion.
