Appreciate your including Lucky in your video... kids who participate in most of their parents' activities grow up healthier and become part of a better world. Kids are part of life and real life is affected, constrained and immeasurably enriched by them, just as kids are affected, constrained and immeasurably enriched by real or grownup life.
such a cute kid. I really appreciated you including him, I always have to include my little ones in my yarn and science adventures and I think they'd like doing this type of experiment with me! more toddler yarn videos!
Gosh he is soo cute!! Please redo his rainbow with him sometime haha but loved the greens and pinks tho!!! Im not a fan of our easteregg tablets it doesnt really matter how much vinegar i add this always happens to me, they dont desolve on me 😭
I had yarn that I tried to dye and put in 2 T of vinegar into a pot about the size of the one you used. I got zero color in the yarn when I rinsed it out. How do you know how much vinegar to actually use?? Thanks.....
Beverly Vee Normally I do 2-3 T and it turns out fine. really it has been trial and error for me. it seems like the Easter egg tablets need more acid than the other food colorings.
Beverly Vee Unfortunately, unless you're dealing with the exact same yarn, the exact same dyes, and the exact same amount of the same water, there's no definite answer. It's going to vary, so it's a matter of trial and error. Also, was your yarn wool? Acrylic fibers don't accept dye, and plant fibers need a different type of dye than animal fibers.
I enjoyed seeing your toddler participating in the video. A great learning experience for him and fun for us! I've dyed my own batch. Check it out on Instagram under @kajujean #eastereggdye #yarndyeing

Those muted colors are a lot like what I love to work with. Lucas did a great job! I might have to use his technique with one of the kits I bought.

do you have to set the twist before dyeing it? Or can you use the dyeing process as setting the twist?
I want those shoes.

It looks like hunters' camouflage.

i think its sophisticated color way, so earthy yet delicate; prefer non toddler videos myself, too distracting and prolonged.
BarbaraL Lowell Don't worry, there will still be plenty of non Lucky videos coming up. He will only make the occasional appearance. :)
