Honestly, always felt like she was riding the bennet sinergy and basically needed so much effort for her to function. The moment a team isnt entirely built around her she feels clunky af. Still a good cheap options for beginners, since she is free, but without c4 she is even clunkier. Flip really is calling this community out, based take
@@tabbune that's an extremely niche team, and also very complicated to pull off if you're not familiar with the timing or if you have bad ping, even tho that team is theoretically strong I've rarely seen people talk about or use it. My point is that xiangling on her own isnt strong, it's the sinergy that she has with bennet that makes her unique, she is the only one that can exploit him 100%. Now the other thing she does is apply a lot of off-field pyro, which is needed in some teams recently, and it's absolutely valuable, but as flip said in the video, she is clunky to use, very energy hungry, and her dmg dives off a cliff without proper buffing. But hey that's just what I observed, doesnt mean that she is a bad character at all, just that the community tends to overhype her

I hate xiangling so much in any team besides raiden national, she's the sole reason why childe is benched. any team with her you spend more time funnelling energy into her than actually playing the team. I want to play childe (or another onfield character) not play as bennett handing balls over to xiangling! I can't wait for mavuika to replace her so I can actually play the game in teams with an off-field pyro.
Tbh another team where you don't have to waste time funneling energy for Xiangling is Navia team. Both Navia and Xiangling do insane dmg and also Navia generated like 4 particles per skill and you use it minimum 3 times per rotation anyway so XL won't have the biggest issues of energy, not to mention paired with zhongli (at the moment) who can run fav helps a lot too. Do try it I think it'll be really fun it's good for both aoe and single target. I despise international for how much time I have to waste funneling energy and honestly this Navia team made me have fun in this game after a long time...
@@SHG3110 I don't have zhongli, and my albedo isn't really built for fav. I tried it and my rotations were still getting messed up with xiangling. maybe xilonen will be able to help funnel xiangling though, since she'll hold fav.
It takes genshin community 1-3 years to adjust their meta perspective when things change. It scales with how much the unit gets batted, and by how 🧠 dead the unit is to play. They will forget about xiangling at some point because she is hard to build around, but they will bat neuvillette, zhongli and raiden til the end of time.

i feel like youre downplaying the fact that she is free tbh like yes compare her to chiori and emilie who are both limited 5* not nearly as accessible or versatile as xiangling is
Versatility sure but accessibility is iffy. Despite being free if you are a newer player you still need to get her cons. C4 is massive both for her support and damage and without her C6 she is a lot worse than Chiori or Emile for that slot. You can get 3 guaranteed cons of her a year assuming there are no other characters that are a priority and the 4 star pool is so diluted that getting her in a random chance pull just isn’t happening. Realistically to get even a C4 Xiangling it would probably take around a year. And with guarantees you can get her in two. Compared to limited characters where you just have to pull them at C0 assuming their banner is there and they are essentially complete in this evaluation. Also my point wasn’t something like Chiori>Xiangling just saying that even off field units now are able to encroach on the damage she does so it’s no longer something special to just her which is why she was valued so much in the first place.
I think this comparation between Emilie Chiori and Xianling is wrong in the first place, since: 1) Both Emilie and Chiori are niche characters, they don't work in as many different teams as Xiangling does (mono pyro, national, cryo, vape, overload), lets compare Emilie damage with Xianling outside of Burning and see how she does..., exactly 2) Xiangling doesn't need the constellations to be as effective as Emilie and Chiori (ON their best teams) to work, she does need bennet and average investment tho (emblem and the catch) 3) They literally are on different teams most of the time, until we literally have the Pyro archon Xianling has no competition as an off-field pyro damage dealer. You can say that we have more different teams with dendro now, but that doesn't mean xiangling is worse on the pre-dendro teams and she still has space even now in some dendro teams

One thing which saves XL a bit is 2pc Scroll, if you have Xilonen and 1 more Natlan character she gets 18 flat energy from nightsoul bursts. With how many teams she enables in spite of her flaws though, I don’t think she’ll be going anywhere. Xingqiu is still present in teams today despite his flaws (21s CD, orbitals complicating swirl setups, no buffing, etc) and despite Yelan and Furina being an upgrade in many teams
Still prefer Yelan over Xingqiu. Defensive utility? Bro I just dodge and kill the enemy before they kill me. I ran a Arleccino over vape team with Yelan/Fischl/Kazuha on the first side of abyss.
For people say c6 Xiangling is easier to get than a limited 5 star, maybe I have been unlucky with 4 star pulls, but I spent 200 pulls to get c1 clorinde, I got c1 clorinde and a copy of sethos, I got c1 Emilie and 2 copies of yanfei, it’s literally difficult to c6 a four star since they are not guaranteed, like a five star on banner

Xl isnt a good unit outside of International, but i think many people overlook the fact that her pyronado can double hit to get, honestly, and insane amount of dmg for an off fielder.

Hey nice vid, no hate I just have some questions/opinions to share. My biggest gripes were probably at 5:51 You said that her being aoe doesnt matter because "you are building lots of em so unless you are using an aoe hydro applier you arent dealing consistent aoe vaped hits" Why cant you just use an aoe hydro applier? I dont see anything wrong with using an aoe hydro applier like Tartaglia, who is a staple in many xiangling teams. His function is very similar to xq, he can nuke and he can apply hydro so theres no drawbacks to running him really. Also id like to mention that even in xingqiu xl teams her aoe is useful. By applying pyro in an aoe, she allows xingqiu to quad vape multiple enemies. In aoe content, xingqius quad vapes is often more than enough to clear these aoe waves. Although yeah this isnt really xiangling doing the damage here, not many pyro units function as an aoe pyro applier with the level of pyro application that xiangling has so I would argue that xianglings aoe [pyro application] is very important here. I mean I can kinda see your point about her aoe could possibly be over exaggerated, but definitely is valuable. You mentioned some pyronado tech like double hits could improve her damage profiles but stated that the majority of the community dont care enough about it to incorporate it into their gameplay loop, however I dont think you should discount these techniques. When people talk about Hu Tao, people often do her CA cancels, which significantly improves her gameplay both dps wise and positioning wise. I would say xiangling movement techniques are very similar, back pedaling is extremely simple, just move counter clockwise. Double hits are slightly harder but I would argue is similar to hutao CA cancels, you simply dash with the pyronado when it hits. It's about the same difficulty level as a hutao CA cancel imo. Similar to how people probably take into account hutaos CA cancels into her damage profile, you should factor in xianglings movement techniques into her damage profile. Both techniques are relatively easy to learn and consistent to do, so I don't see why you wouldnt include it. And oftentimes because her pyronado has no icd you can get double hits on your own against boss enemies. I feel like I understand the point here, but it's kind of phrased in a way to where you skim over these techs as something not essential when in reality youre getting double pyronado hits. I think you make a great point when you mentioned that you arent trying to say pyronado tech isnt important but that it's a technique that lots of other characters dont have to worry about, however I feel like thats more about QOL and less about xianglings damage profile. Minor nitpick: at 7:16 I mean yeah she has a long burst animation but at least she does damage during this burst animation. For characters that will vape after she bursts like in most xl teams, this isnt really much of a time loss as you would need to wait anyways for her to apply pyro to the enemy if her animation was shorter. Lastly, I feel like the majority of the video was about how she wasnt a good support, rather than how she wasnt a good character. If we are talking about the value of xiangling, imo we should probably focus more around where she is best in, rather than the fact that she is no longer viable as a copium support for characters like xiao. I defo agree that her damage is mattering less with better supports, but in her meta teams specifically her kit allows for some pretty quick runs. I think? you mentioned that other teams can do more damage, but id say shes still meta. Her rapid pyro application allows people like xq/tartag to nuke, and her damage is still really good and has some of the best dmg aoe in the game when buffed. Even if the dps is less than meta teams, xl national is a team that fits in almost all abysses due to it's nuke and great aoe damage. Though this is more of a practical than theoretical explanation to things. Im essentially trying to say it's not just about how much damage you can do, but about how frontloaded it is, if it can clear aoe content etc. I think she fits her role in national perfectly, yeah theres burst downtime, but you can use that downtime to have a bunch of buffs your burst, which snapshots, when normally most characters would not benefit as much due to the fact that using multiple supports would waste the duration of the first support's buff. In these teams shes only replaceable if they release an no icd pyro applicator with aoe and good damage and snapshots, in which case they would have literally just made xiangling but better.
Wrong? Just never use her outside of vape team, I always think xiangling outside of vape is pretty cope, internat is her only actual team. A lot of teams that run xiangling as an off field pyro only use her because she's the ONLY option atm, once you have another off field pyro she's not needed, even when the new pyro off field do much less dmg. Newer 5* are good enough to never run national or rational
I love her shes great..... I don't use her anywhere over then overload and national. She is far too reliant on the right teammates and having c4. But please still build her she uses emblem and her teams are good and still capable of clearing. Mavuika will probably only take her role as a pyro app. Also i only have c4 because i got extremely lucky.
Dehya could've been the one created for better and consistent pyro application off field with a good damage profile which could be way better. instead of the useless damage mitigation HP scaling trash... Only if HYV wasn't rac----... you know what... forget it.
try with chevreuse and a pyro main dps, it's pretty lit and saying that btw, is like saying kinich suck outside of burning, a lot of characters in genshin are pretty niche
I’ve heard people guess she’ll be an ATK% buffer, since all of the Natlan weapons that we know of so far have high base attack (except for the non-attack scalers Mualani and Xilonen), so they’ll be able to take better advantage of an ATK% buff. Honestly I feel like she might be kinda both, ATK% buffer and off-field pyro, since with Furina we know Hoyo isn’t afraid of making really good support units that also deal good damage
Pretty much most people mistakes is how you use Xiangling as solo or no Raiden energy funnel. You can't just use her burst anytime you want and expect your next rotation her burst is ready again, causing 300% ER required. It's similar to Noelle, you use her burst for breaking elemental shield or when said element (Pyro/Geo) need to apply like that Bulbasaur trying to eat fruit and you need to give Pyro on it. In my last Abyss video, I only use her burst on that specific time (Bulbasaur above and when Cryo Fatso use his shield) and let Hyperbloom Trio deal with most DPS phase.
I hate her. Funneling particles to her is such a pain in the ass. And fishing for catch is not what I consider fun gameplay. It's still R2, I hate everything about her but because of her no ICD burst that snapshots. Ughhhhh. I don't care if Mavuika has standard ICD I just hate playing Xiangling

Here's the thing she is such a valuable unit but she is definitely outdated, problem is she is still to this day the only character who can apply pyro as much as she does and with 2.0 moving to hydro dps over elector and pyro and 3.0 having dendro and both working well with pyro if anyone is her but better everyone gets stronger There is a reason people say Mavuika just has to be Xanling but better, even just having less burst cost and a shorter cooldown as long as she has the same pyrp application Mavuika will basically be one of the best characters in the game just because of that
I've started running her on 2 piece Cinder City on Mualani/Xilonen. It's not her optimal set, but it means I get to just pretend her ult only costs 60 energy. Makes the comp feel way smoother to play. Of course the flipside of this is that if Mavuika is a strong pyro applier with good damage the fact that all my Xiangling is bringing is pyro application and her damage is terrible makes her even easier to replace.

This is so true, even when I'm still starting...I never used Xingqiu, Bennett, & Xiangling to any of my teams. Up to this day, I always finished 36 stars in Abyss, & 10 flowers in Imaginarium without using them coz they're still on lvl 1. The 4 stars I always used are Collei, Fischl, Shinobu, Kirara, Cheuvreuse, Faruzan, Yaoyao, Noelle, Candace, Layla, Thoma, Barbara, Lisa, Lynette, Sara, & Kachina. And my best off-field sub dps are Yae Miko, Chiori, Kokomi, Kuki, Kazuha, Nilou, & Emilie.
Xiangling has been something as an ol' reliable for me. Even when I had better options (such as Clorinde, Lyney with Aqua Simulacra, Gaming with Vape, Furina Teams, HB teams and so on), Sucrose National is a team I can reliably fall back on and know that it will 95% work.
Honestly when it comes to the Kinich/Emilie burning team I use Bennet and Dehya. Dehya just being a skill button makes it so I can just dump all my resources into Atk and Crit Stats and never worry about energy. Though once I get her C1, I'll have to swap my Atk Sands to HP
Unless Mavuika is completely overturned moreso than Furina xangling will still have a place on plenty of teams kind of like Yelan has teams where she is better than Furina. She is still amazing.
Why do you think so out of curiosity? These are C6 4 stars compared to C0 5 stars which some would argue is in favour of the 4 stars due to how diluted the pool is, and Fischl is also here who’s agg teams have higher dps than any of the 5 stars.

Xiangling just sits at the center of the major "Hoyoverse didn't know what they were doing at launch" issues. She benefits from Benny's overly powerful atk buff, plus he feeds her energy. She benefits from vape giving too large of a damage bonus (seriously, what sort of newbie designed gave melt/vape a 50/100% bonus?). She benefits from xingqiu giving too much hydro app. And then mix in the lack of ICD on her burst to take advantage of that all... Also, note that snapshotting buffs is not one of those issues. Snapshotting is generally a good thing for designers to include. It lets damage over time things match up to instant damage types, creating a more fair and open design space. The reason why Genshin has so many characters that don't snapshot is because they screwed up that badly with Benny and they won't nerf him for various reasons. But these days, we have so many more options, and that means so much more competition for slots. Plus dendro gave vape some reactions that can compete with it.
I remember that the reason I used her is back when my AR was 56; the AR that I completed the Abyss at (36) stars, and it all goes for Xiangling; she carried me. I used Diluc with level 80, Fischl on 70, Yelan, and Zhongli at 90, and all of them on a trash build; on the first half, and Raiden, Bennett, Kazuha, and Xiangling; with all of them on a trash build also; on 2nd half; it was super tough. Xiangling here carried me so hard; because my characters are weak. She carried them; by providing a Pyro resonance; for my Raiden, LMAO.
Surprisingly agree with... most of what you said, but I think you're still kind of underselling her main carry potential. Where did you get those numbers at 5:03 from? At least provide a source. The biggest issue, as you briefly acknowledge later, is that XL's numbers clearly assume the bare minimum number of hits. The problem is that not only does that completely ignore what you can do with her given some actual skill (that you can't do for anyone else- there's no room to squeeze extra hits out of the rest), but against boss content in particular, many allow her to double-hit with little to no effort. Internat specifically has remained especially competitive. It simply isn't true that the "new generation" of 5* on-field carries (at C0 at least) are in a tier above in terms of team damage potential. Not even Neuvi/Arle/Mualani (popular sheet calcs/sims can kiss my *ss).
So Xiangling is bad because (even though she can compete with 5 star alternatives despite being a 4 star), a theoretical unit would be better than her? She is bad because her teams have fallen off massively compared to inazuma era. International is still okayish in AoE, but at this point you have much better options. Nowadays xiangling's only use is to supply pyro at 300% ER req
The theoretical unit had no bearing to how I ranked her just that if there was a unit that didn’t have the “x” flaws that held Xiangling back that would be a massacre upgrade to a lot of teams that have to run Xiangling in spite of her flaws

First of all , saying xianling doesn't have high damage is straight up misinformation , i am pretty sure that's assuming you are vaping her hits , she absolutely destroy emilie and chiori damage and i have emilie , also you are forgetting that emilie and chiori is single target mostly , also xianling res shred pyro , give attack buff and pyro buff Xianling is the strongest character in the game besides furina Bennett , pyro archon isn't replacing her but make her stronger
she does deal high damage, but with the release of significantly better hypercarries and off fielders, her dps ceiling is no longer groundbreaking. its standard. hence most of her current value comes from her consistent off field pyro app that no other character can singlehandedly preform. but just because she’s your only option does not make her a good one, since her kit is stacked with so many anti synergies in off fielder comps that she almost always interferes with the quality of your rotations and takes up a lot of er time that could have been used on your main dps. also op already mentioned that her aoe isnt as valuable outside of her pyro app because her damage ceiling is dependent on reaction based teams, and barely any supports complimenting her in that aspect are aoe so she’s often limited to deal high damage to only 1 enemy at a time. she fulfills the criteria for a role that gets her into many teams but she’s not hard to surpass or at the very least get replaced on most accounts, you can literally just add a consistent pyro app off fielder with a more synergystic cd, er or skill. i love xiangling but there’s admittedly nothing worse in meta than a very clunky unit youre conditioned to play out of lack of alternatives for a moderately basic role.
I was jsut talking to someone about this like 4 days ago, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks she is over hyped. Is she bad? no. She just isn't a SSS tier unit like everyone says. She is noticeably lower than fish, book boy, and benny.
you are wrong about xiangling... since you assume her being only with the Catch/favonius but compare here with other charcters with 5* weapon or even signatures favonius is great for those that don't do damage ( to thunnel particles to other , not to themselfs). with raiden's signature suddenly you obtain +40 ER comparing to the catch.. and at the same time converts that high energy into attack bonus. frankly i think that EL is even more of a signature for xiangling than for raiden.... and yeah you still will need er sands. but on the other hand, EM is not a dead stat for her she scales from it... you really think that any pyro dps would have this? i have her with 350-450 EM, 209 CV is considered top 1% builds, and this is while i gave her leftovers after farming for raiden. and literally none of her pieces are bis for others, the same as other emblem pieces that are sitting on other chars are not bis for XL. the only thing that i'm switching sometimes are the sands, depending on the team composition. in international, my xiangling deals 85 k vapes while having 70 CR. even in single target its 1kk+ DPR, and you have childe also doing significant damage, and kazuha - non negligible damage. tell me pls in what teams mona could do similar dmg. Mavuika can be better than XL, but i think that this will be true only with vertical investment, at C0r1 mavuika will replace xiangling in some teams but definetely not in all.

Lynette is pog. Her infusion on her burst makes her elemental application quite reliable. I use her in Keqing Catggravate teams and its so fun to pilot
7:31 Why hype Fischl so much? Unless she is C6, she has 10s damage window with a 25s cool down, and her burst doesn't have i-frames, also she need ER to consistently burst. Even with her burst, you have 20 out of 25s damage window, also, you have to remember to switch to her every 10ish seconds. That's plenty of flaws if you ask me. Also the damage is not that great in my case, I play Nahida, Yae(13% on Akasha), Fischl(12% on Akasha) and Xianyun, and the team perform worse than Nahida, Kokomi, Kuki and Yae... I am not a Fischl hater, I legit try to make her work, her artifact is among my top builds, and yet I don't find the team that strong... Maybe Xilonen can change that. I am just not comfortable to play a team without healer.

As a semi-serious player(36 star), I do find her gameplay to be not comfy enough for me to replace her with raiden in Arle Chevy overload team. Even in imagium theater, I sometimes find her burst not up in some teams, and it feels like crap having to wait 15 seconds not having Oz.
@@Daivd1111 From a casual player who only follows theorycrafters to do abysses and stuff, fischl doesnt have uptime issues form my experience, (mine is c3). She doesnt even need any er in majority of her best teams. The highest er fischl needs is 130 in a mono electro overload team in case of single target boss enemy. your bigger problem may be how you are doing your rotations perhaps. about raiden, the main reason fischl is highly appreciated is her a4 passive. I have always been evaluating her different from raiden.

If not, she'll need some ER (around 130-140% iirc? less if someone else has fav), and having another electro is better so she does more damage with her A4. But purely as an E-bot you can forget about, Raiden is better since she has higher uptime I think you're better off with Raiden in that slot. Fischl's best teams have a second electro and a ton of electro reactions, that's why you don't often see people mention that you need energy recharge on her
@@zorphite In my experience against boss solo Fischl 130ER is not enough, mine is 128 and it is a no for me, only enough if there are multiple weak enemies or other electro teammates. Keqingmains website suggest 130-170ER for solo 25s rotations, so 130 is definitely a stretch
I don't like playing Xiangling, and I wish we had another option of consistent off-field pyro application. If Mavuika turns out to work well with her (or even want her in the team), then (not to be dramatic) I'll have a mental breakdown.
Hoyo are so afraid of releasing a character that does off-field pyro dmg that they smashed Dehya's kneecaps, put her in a wheelchair and rolled her over to the standard banner. I sure hope they get over their fear of off-field pyro until Mavuika releases. I think the power level of the game's roster is at a stage now where consistent forward vape wouldn't break it any more.
So basically, Xiangling is still the best at what she does is what I take out of this video, but will be replaced as soon as we get something better? I'm a vocal supporter for buffing older characters like Amber.
I hate how speedruns of international, rational and national that have 40+substat builds, an insane amount of resetting, and low er scamming have made it possible for people to think these teams havent been powercrept to the point where they are kind of mediocre now for causal strong clears.
I mean, Kinich, Mualani, Emilie, the latter characters, use xiangling as one of their bis so she actually hasn’t fell off :/; probably Xilonen would make up for a new national driver, and yeah, Mauvika might end up being better than her, but the fact that they would be played together (betterying each other) as yelan/xingqiu in some team highlights her infinite flexibility

My Xiangling is so poorly built because of all the stats she needs T^T the high ER needs diminish my ability to built solid crit and atk% on her. I'm pretty sure mine has like 1200atk and 60/120 crit ratio which certainly isn't where i want her to be but farming EMBLEM is another hell in itself to get all the stats she needs and rng to roll them well. I truly hope Mavuika fixes her or ya know... Outright replaces her and does what she does with less severe needs

My point is that xiangling on her own isnt strong, it's the sinergy that she has with bennet that makes her unique, she is the only one that can exploit him 100%.
Now the other thing she does is apply a lot of off-field pyro, which is needed in some teams recently, and it's absolutely valuable, but as flip said in the video, she is clunky to use, very energy hungry, and her dmg dives off a cliff without proper buffing.

I hate xiangling so much in any team besides raiden national, she's the sole reason why childe is benched. any team with her you spend more time funnelling energy into her than actually playing the team. I want to play childe (or another onfield character) not play as bennett handing balls over to xiangling! I can't wait for mavuika to replace her so I can actually play the game in teams with an off-field pyro.
Tbh another team where you don't have to waste time funneling energy for Xiangling is Navia team. Both Navia and Xiangling do insane dmg and also Navia generated like 4 particles per skill and you use it minimum 3 times per rotation anyway so XL won't have the biggest issues of energy, not to mention paired with zhongli (at the moment) who can run fav helps a lot too. Do try it I think it'll be really fun it's good for both aoe and single target. I despise international for how much time I have to waste funneling energy and honestly this Navia team made me have fun in this game after a long time...

It takes genshin community 1-3 years to adjust their meta perspective when things change. It scales with how much the unit gets batted, and by how 🧠 dead the unit is to play.

Versatility sure but accessibility is iffy. Despite being free if you are a newer player you still need to get her cons. C4 is massive both for her support and damage and without her C6 she is a lot worse than Chiori or Emile for that slot. You can get 3 guaranteed cons of her a year assuming there are no other characters that are a priority and the 4 star pool is so diluted that getting her in a random chance pull just isn’t happening.
Realistically to get even a C4 Xiangling it would probably take around a year. And with guarantees you can get her in two. Compared to limited characters where you just have to pull them at C0 assuming their banner is there and they are essentially complete in this evaluation.
Also my point wasn’t something like Chiori>Xiangling just saying that even off field units now are able to encroach on the damage she does so it’s no longer something special to just her which is why she was valued so much in the first place.
I think this comparation between Emilie Chiori and Xianling is wrong in the first place, since: 1) Both Emilie and Chiori are niche characters, they don't work in as many different teams as Xiangling does (mono pyro, national, cryo, vape, overload), lets compare Emilie damage with Xianling outside of Burning and see how she does..., exactly 2) Xiangling doesn't need the constellations to be as effective as Emilie and Chiori (ON their best teams) to work, she does need bennet and average investment tho (emblem and the catch) 3) They literally are on different teams most of the time, until we literally have the Pyro archon Xianling has no competition as an off-field pyro damage dealer. You can say that we have more different teams with dendro now, but that doesn't mean xiangling is worse on the pre-dendro teams and she still has space even now in some dendro teams

One thing which saves XL a bit is 2pc Scroll, if you have Xilonen and 1 more Natlan character she gets 18 flat energy from nightsoul bursts.
With how many teams she enables in spite of her flaws though, I don’t think she’ll be going anywhere. Xingqiu is still present in teams today despite his flaws (21s CD, orbitals complicating swirl setups, no buffing, etc) and despite Yelan and Furina being an upgrade in many teams

Xl isnt a good unit outside of International, but i think many people overlook the fact that her pyronado can double hit to get, honestly, and insane amount of dmg for an off fielder.

Hey nice vid, no hate I just have some questions/opinions to share.
My biggest gripes were probably at 5:51
You said that her being aoe doesnt matter because "you are building lots of em so unless you are using an aoe hydro applier you arent dealing consistent aoe vaped hits" Why cant you just use an aoe hydro applier? I dont see anything wrong with using an aoe hydro applier like Tartaglia, who is a staple in many xiangling teams. His function is very similar to xq, he can nuke and he can apply hydro so theres no drawbacks to running him really. Also id like to mention that even in xingqiu xl teams her aoe is useful. By applying pyro in an aoe, she allows xingqiu to quad vape multiple enemies. In aoe content, xingqius quad vapes is often more than enough to clear these aoe waves. Although yeah this isnt really xiangling doing the damage here, not many pyro units function as an aoe pyro applier with the level of pyro application that xiangling has so I would argue that xianglings aoe [pyro application] is very important here. I mean I can kinda see your point about her aoe could possibly be over exaggerated, but definitely is valuable.
You mentioned some pyronado tech like double hits could improve her damage profiles but stated that the majority of the community dont care enough about it to incorporate it into their gameplay loop, however I dont think you should discount these techniques. When people talk about Hu Tao, people often do her CA cancels, which significantly improves her gameplay both dps wise and positioning wise. I would say xiangling movement techniques are very similar, back pedaling is extremely simple, just move counter clockwise. Double hits are slightly harder but I would argue is similar to hutao CA cancels, you simply dash with the pyronado when it hits. It's about the same difficulty level as a hutao CA cancel imo. Similar to how people probably take into account hutaos CA cancels into her damage profile, you should factor in xianglings movement techniques into her damage profile. Both techniques are relatively easy to learn and consistent to do, so I don't see why you wouldnt include it. And oftentimes because her pyronado has no icd you can get double hits on your own against boss enemies. I feel like I understand the point here, but it's kind of phrased in a way to where you skim over these techs as something not essential when in reality youre getting double pyronado hits.
I think you make a great point when you mentioned that you arent trying to say pyronado tech isnt important but that it's a technique that lots of other characters dont have to worry about, however I feel like thats more about QOL and less about xianglings damage profile.
Minor nitpick: at 7:16 I mean yeah she has a long burst animation but at least she does damage during this burst animation. For characters that will vape after she bursts like in most xl teams, this isnt really much of a time loss as you would need to wait anyways for her to apply pyro to the enemy if her animation was shorter.
Lastly, I feel like the majority of the video was about how she wasnt a good support, rather than how she wasnt a good character. If we are talking about the value of xiangling, imo we should probably focus more around where she is best in, rather than the fact that she is no longer viable as a copium support for characters like xiao. I defo agree that her damage is mattering less with better supports, but in her meta teams specifically her kit allows for some pretty quick runs. I think? you mentioned that other teams can do more damage, but id say shes still meta.
Her rapid pyro application allows people like xq/tartag to nuke, and her damage is still really good and has some of the best dmg aoe in the game when buffed. Even if the dps is less than meta teams, xl national is a team that fits in almost all abysses due to it's nuke and great aoe damage. Though this is more of a practical than theoretical explanation to things. Im essentially trying to say it's not just about how much damage you can do, but about how frontloaded it is, if it can clear aoe content etc.
I think she fits her role in national perfectly, yeah theres burst downtime, but you can use that downtime to have a bunch of buffs your burst, which snapshots, when normally most characters would not benefit as much due to the fact that using multiple supports would waste the duration of the first support's buff.
In these teams shes only replaceable if they release an no icd pyro applicator with aoe and good damage and snapshots, in which case they would have literally just made xiangling but better.

I’ve heard people guess she’ll be an ATK% buffer, since all of the Natlan weapons that we know of so far have high base attack (except for the non-attack scalers Mualani and Xilonen), so they’ll be able to take better advantage of an ATK% buff.
Honestly I feel like she might be kinda both, ATK% buffer and off-field pyro, since with Furina we know Hoyo isn’t afraid of making really good support units that also deal good damage

Pretty much most people mistakes is how you use Xiangling as solo or no Raiden energy funnel. You can't just use her burst anytime you want and expect your next rotation her burst is ready again, causing 300% ER required.
It's similar to Noelle, you use her burst for breaking elemental shield or when said element (Pyro/Geo) need to apply like that Bulbasaur trying to eat fruit and you need to give Pyro on it. In my last Abyss video, I only use her burst on that specific time (Bulbasaur above and when Cryo Fatso use his shield) and let Hyperbloom Trio deal with most DPS phase.

Here's the thing she is such a valuable unit but she is definitely outdated, problem is she is still to this day the only character who can apply pyro as much as she does and with 2.0 moving to hydro dps over elector and pyro and 3.0 having dendro and both working well with pyro if anyone is her but better everyone gets stronger
There is a reason people say Mavuika just has to be Xanling but better, even just having less burst cost and a shorter cooldown as long as she has the same pyrp application Mavuika will basically be one of the best characters in the game just because of that

I've started running her on 2 piece Cinder City on Mualani/Xilonen. It's not her optimal set, but it means I get to just pretend her ult only costs 60 energy. Makes the comp feel way smoother to play.
Of course the flipside of this is that if Mavuika is a strong pyro applier with good damage the fact that all my Xiangling is bringing is pyro application and her damage is terrible makes her even easier to replace.

Displaying her mastery over both fire and polearms, Xiangling sends a Pyronado whirling around her. The Pyronado will move with your character for the ability's duration, dealing Pyro DMG to all opponents in its path.
It also should be noted that she can miss Bennett buff. Her burst snapshots around frame 45 and if you get unlucky then she just doesn't snapshot

This is so true, even when I'm still starting...I never used Xingqiu, Bennett, & Xiangling to any of my teams. Up to this day, I always finished 36 stars in Abyss, & 10 flowers in Imaginarium without using them coz they're still on lvl 1. The 4 stars I always used are Collei, Fischl, Shinobu, Kirara, Cheuvreuse, Faruzan, Yaoyao, Noelle, Candace, Layla, Thoma, Barbara, Lisa, Lynette, Sara, & Kachina. And my best off-field sub dps are Yae Miko, Chiori, Kokomi, Kuki, Kazuha, Nilou, & Emilie.
Xiangling has been something as an ol' reliable for me. Even when I had better options (such as Clorinde, Lyney with Aqua Simulacra, Gaming with Vape, Furina Teams, HB teams and so on), Sucrose National is a team I can reliably fall back on and know that it will 95% work.
Honestly when it comes to the Kinich/Emilie burning team I use Bennet and Dehya. Dehya just being a skill button makes it so I can just dump all my resources into Atk and Crit Stats and never worry about energy. Though once I get her C1, I'll have to swap my Atk Sands to HP
Unless Mavuika is completely overturned moreso than Furina xangling will still have a place on plenty of teams kind of like Yelan has teams where she is better than Furina. She is still amazing.
I still remember when I started playing and did her quest, I ended up fighting the Cryo Regisvine with only her as my pyro. Benched FOREVER

Why do you think so out of curiosity? These are C6 4 stars compared to C0 5 stars which some would argue is in favour of the 4 stars due to how diluted the pool is, and Fischl is also here who’s agg teams have higher dps than any of the 5 stars.
@@FliponYT I'd say with the exception of Fischl, I can't think of any 1.0 or even 2.0 4 stars that are good today. I guess maybe XL's lack of competition in her niche (off-field pyro) is what makes her more valuable than she is

Xiangling just sits at the center of the major "Hoyoverse didn't know what they were doing at launch" issues. She benefits from Benny's overly powerful atk buff, plus he feeds her energy. She benefits from vape giving too large of a damage bonus (seriously, what sort of newbie designed gave melt/vape a 50/100% bonus?). She benefits from xingqiu giving too much hydro app. And then mix in the lack of ICD on her burst to take advantage of that all...
Also, note that snapshotting buffs is not one of those issues. Snapshotting is generally a good thing for designers to include. It lets damage over time things match up to instant damage types, creating a more fair and open design space. The reason why Genshin has so many characters that don't snapshot is because they screwed up that badly with Benny and they won't nerf him for various reasons.
But these days, we have so many more options, and that means so much more competition for slots. Plus dendro gave vape some reactions that can compete with it.
I remember that the reason I used her is back when my AR was 56; the AR that I completed the Abyss at (36) stars, and it all goes for Xiangling; she carried me. I used Diluc with level 80, Fischl on 70, Yelan, and Zhongli at 90, and all of them on a trash build; on the first half, and Raiden, Bennett, Kazuha, and Xiangling; with all of them on a trash build also; on 2nd half; it was super tough. Xiangling here carried me so hard; because my characters are weak. She carried them; by providing a Pyro resonance; for my Raiden, LMAO.

Where did you get those numbers at 5:03 from? At least provide a source. The biggest issue, as you briefly acknowledge later, is that XL's numbers clearly assume the bare minimum number of hits. The problem is that not only does that completely ignore what you can do with her given some actual skill (that you can't do for anyone else- there's no room to squeeze extra hits out of the rest), but against boss content in particular, many allow her to double-hit with little to no effort.
Internat specifically has remained especially competitive. It simply isn't true that the "new generation" of 5* on-field carries (at C0 at least) are in a tier above in terms of team damage potential. Not even Neuvi/Arle/Mualani (popular sheet calcs/sims can kiss my *ss).

So Xiangling is bad because (even though she can compete with 5 star alternatives despite being a 4 star), a theoretical unit would be better than her? She is bad because her teams have fallen off massively compared to inazuma era. International is still okayish in AoE, but at this point you have much better options.
Nowadays xiangling's only use is to supply pyro at 300% ER req
The theoretical unit had no bearing to how I ranked her just that if there was a unit that didn’t have the “x” flaws that held Xiangling back that would be a massacre upgrade to a lot of teams that have to run Xiangling in spite of her flaws

First of all , saying xianling doesn't have high damage is straight up misinformation , i am pretty sure that's assuming you are vaping her hits , she absolutely destroy emilie and chiori damage and i have emilie , also you are forgetting that emilie and chiori is single target mostly , also xianling res shred pyro , give attack buff and pyro buff
Xianling is the strongest character in the game besides furina Bennett , pyro archon isn't replacing her but make her stronger

she does deal high damage, but with the release of significantly better hypercarries and off fielders, her dps ceiling is no longer groundbreaking. its standard. hence most of her current value comes from her consistent off field pyro app that no other character can singlehandedly preform. but just because she’s your only option does not make her a good one, since her kit is stacked with so many anti synergies in off fielder comps that she almost always interferes with the quality of your rotations and takes up a lot of er time that could have been used on your main dps. also op already mentioned that her aoe isnt as valuable outside of her pyro app because her damage ceiling is dependent on reaction based teams, and barely any supports complimenting her in that aspect are aoe so she’s often limited to deal high damage to only 1 enemy at a time. she fulfills the criteria for a role that gets her into many teams but she’s not hard to surpass or at the very least get replaced on most accounts, you can literally just add a consistent pyro app off fielder with a more synergystic cd, er or skill. i love xiangling but there’s admittedly nothing worse in meta than a very clunky unit youre conditioned to play out of lack of alternatives for a moderately basic role.

I was jsut talking to someone about this like 4 days ago, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks she is over hyped. Is she bad? no. She just isn't a SSS tier unit like everyone says. She is noticeably lower than fish, book boy, and benny.

you are wrong about xiangling... since you assume her being only with the Catch/favonius but compare here with other charcters with 5* weapon or even signatures
favonius is great for those that don't do damage ( to thunnel particles to other , not to themselfs).
with raiden's signature suddenly you obtain +40 ER comparing to the catch.. and at the same time converts that high energy into attack bonus. frankly i think that EL is even more of a signature for xiangling than for raiden.... and yeah you still will need er sands. but on the other hand, EM is not a dead stat for her she scales from it... you really think that any pyro dps would have this?
i have her with 350-450 EM, 209 CV is considered top 1% builds, and this is while i gave her leftovers after farming for raiden. and literally none of her pieces are bis for others, the same as other emblem pieces that are sitting on other chars are not bis for XL. the only thing that i'm switching sometimes are the sands, depending on the team composition.
in international, my xiangling deals 85 k vapes while having 70 CR. even in single target its 1kk+ DPR, and you have childe also doing significant damage, and kazuha - non negligible damage. tell me pls in what teams mona could do similar dmg.
Mavuika can be better than XL, but i think that this will be true only with vertical investment, at C0r1 mavuika will replace xiangling in some teams but definetely not in all.

Lynette is pog. Her infusion on her burst makes her elemental application quite reliable. I use her in Keqing Catggravate teams and its so fun to pilot

7:31 Why hype Fischl so much? Unless she is C6, she has 10s damage window with a 25s cool down, and her burst doesn't have i-frames, also she need ER to consistently burst. Even with her burst, you have 20 out of 25s damage window, also, you have to remember to switch to her every 10ish seconds. That's plenty of flaws if you ask me.
Also the damage is not that great in my case, I play Nahida, Yae(13% on Akasha), Fischl(12% on Akasha) and Xianyun, and the team perform worse than Nahida, Kokomi, Kuki and Yae...
I am not a Fischl hater, I legit try to make her work, her artifact is among my top builds, and yet I don't find the team that strong... Maybe Xilonen can change that. I am just not comfortable to play a team without healer.

As a semi-serious player(36 star), I do find her gameplay to be not comfy enough for me to replace her with raiden in Arle Chevy overload team. Even in imagium theater, I sometimes find her burst not up in some teams, and it feels like crap having to wait 15 seconds not having Oz.

fischl doesnt have uptime issues form my experience, (mine is c3). She doesnt even need any er in majority of her best teams.
The highest er fischl needs is 130 in a mono electro overload team in case of single target boss enemy. your bigger problem may be how you are doing your rotations perhaps.
about raiden, the main reason fischl is highly appreciated is her a4 passive. I have always been evaluating her different from raiden.
@@Daivd1111 Are you using her in double electro? If not, she'll need some ER (around 130-140% iirc? less if someone else has fav), and having another electro is better so she does more damage with her A4. But purely as an E-bot you can forget about, Raiden is better since she has higher uptime
I think you're better off with Raiden in that slot. Fischl's best teams have a second electro and a ton of electro reactions, that's why you don't often see people mention that you need energy recharge on her
@@zorphite In my experience against boss solo Fischl 130ER is not enough, mine is 128 and it is a no for me, only enough if there are multiple weak enemies or other electro teammates. Keqingmains website suggest 130-170ER for solo 25s rotations, so 130 is definitely a stretch

I don't like playing Xiangling, and I wish we had another option of consistent off-field pyro application. If Mavuika turns out to work well with her (or even want her in the team), then (not to be dramatic) I'll have a mental breakdown.
Hoyo are so afraid of releasing a character that does off-field pyro dmg that they smashed Dehya's kneecaps, put her in a wheelchair and rolled her over to the standard banner.
I sure hope they get over their fear of off-field pyro until Mavuika releases. I think the power level of the game's roster is at a stage now where consistent forward vape wouldn't break it any more.
So basically, Xiangling is still the best at what she does is what I take out of this video, but will be replaced as soon as we get something better? I'm a vocal supporter for buffing older characters like Amber.
I hate how speedruns of international, rational and national that have 40+substat builds, an insane amount of resetting, and low er scamming have made it possible for people to think these teams havent been powercrept to the point where they are kind of mediocre now for causal strong clears.

counter point, we got yelan + xinqiu, then yelan + xinqiu + furina and now, kazuha + xilonen. mavuika + xiangling might be a thing too if mavuika has regular ICD.

My Xiangling is so poorly built because of all the stats she needs T^T the high ER needs diminish my ability to built solid crit and atk% on her. I'm pretty sure mine has like 1200atk and 60/120 crit ratio which certainly isn't where i want her to be but farming EMBLEM is another hell in itself to get all the stats she needs and rng to roll them well. I truly hope Mavuika fixes her or ya know... Outright replaces her and does what she does with less severe needs
