That's not exactly how I saw it, but close enough. I view it more as a statement on the Sonic fandom, and how fandoms in general take pieces of media and twist/transform them based on their own personal desires. And that can be for good (OC creation and the game itself technically being a Sonic fan game) or for very very bad (I think you know what I'm referring to)
