I really like how games with Happy Chaos look rather boring, but when you consider the bullet count and focus bar and how consistent this player is with filling them up it just turns out insane.

Happy chaos went from being one of my favourite character releases to me hating him in a week. You cannot punish him on anything because of the fuckin gun. Also if they get scared of losing then they sit back avoiding u whilst spamming the gun at full screen
yep to me chaos needs a nerf to that gun spam. Every single chaos player that i faced is just spaming that or pressing HS sprinting like there is no other button in the pad, honestly, a character with no skill.

007 is probably trying to keep RF's faust away from him since he has larger normals than chaos and if faust gets a hit he'll need to worry about being forced into corner and mixed up so zoning out faust is kinda the best thing he can do. chaos also needs to rely on system mechanics to do a reversal on his opponent which makes getting hit even worse, not a strive player by all means but from what i do know this seems to be the idea here.

I know theres a difference in the character completely but still when its literally the same thing only it just gets boring and its a playstyle people will use nonstop but its purely because they character is just made to be like that and its just meh especially when you know the characters have different potential but its rarely seen
Seriously, what was GG devs thinking with HC? Most of the HC players only spam the gun like theres just one button, or press hs running hoping that one bullet hits the target and can make a "combo" just pressing HS and K or 6S>HS
I Mean that's his main appeal, Perhaps he may be a bit unbalanced but if you have a gun, you gotta use it. Plus he has limited ammo and a concentration bar for a reason

If you let the reticle aim in all the way before firing the opponent is launched higher.
His resources are terribly designed. You can keep people at full screen and constantly reload cancel making the bullet resource almost pointless, then the opponent finally gets to advance when your concentration is low. You then have plenty of time to up your concentration, then throw the ball to create space and do it all over again.
At this point it's pretty apparent that many characters have extremely limited options for dealing with HC outside of having to hope he makes a mistake. Honestly, I'd rather fight Sol at this point.

if you played plenty of axls, then its roughly the same gameplan,
runup when readied, block when steady aim
you just have to block more, think deliberately, play patiently and defensively- hell, what am i saying, can't believe i'm expecting people to block
Hes the number 1 HC every number 1 ranked character will make it seem like an uphill climb, specially if the opponent doesnt know the matchup
One of those “just maul him” characters. He’s really good but the only character with 0 reversal options mean when he does lose control opponents will be able to oppress him back some
@@chardrive since there is a rock paper scissors aspect that is very very layered and complex to each situation a good HC can anticipate that rushdown vibe. He has moves specifically built to answer that sort of thing, like his advancing haymaker punch. This sort of thing makes it so no two rounds look the same.
HC is probably one of the highest skill characters on the roster. Soul is a problem because anyone can just unga and bunga and be a threat. With HC you are juggling several different mechanics all the time in order to be effective.

RF just doesn't know the matchup it seems, he keeps jumping to approach taking a ton of chip damage just trying to close the gap while also not really gaining distance. He's letting 007 get away with multiple 5k>6k>5h loops when you can not only grab inbetween 5k>6k, but also Faust can forward crawl 5k and get a massive CH punish. He also should try S scarecrow if he knows HC is gonna try zone with full screen focused shots because HC can't cancel in time to block the overhead, and also can't shoot him midair.
*EDIT: started watching more it seems like RF started using more S crow to punish the focus shot spam

@@randomjurassic_goat1107 He can't duck 5k, he has to forward crawl otherwise he blocks it, he can also forward crawl 6S, Far S, 5P and 6P, though it's risky considering HC can still shoot at any time.

@@tvgaming2132he’s both a luck and skill based character. The thing is when you play Faust you have to react quickly when he throws out an item and read the oponent. In this case he called in the lil mini Faust and knew the enemy would jump up to avoid it
The first one uses complicated combos and great moves to win, the other spams his 2-3 moves. I feel like I'm watching a mk11 video with robocop
I think it is not because Happy Chaos has the better kit as a character since that has always been the case for zoner. I think it is mainly because zoners that has escape tools (backward jump on that curse, leaving copy behind, and the roll) is extremely favored in this neutral-focused game.

everyone should learn not to jump to close the distance since the blockstun/knockback is much higher.
Im a faust main and i think part of the reason RF is jump blocking might be because unless you have the timing down on when the HC player will shoot, backwalk is super fast and undoes a lot of work and blocking low crawls, doing the same thing but a little slower. Simply delaying the shot makes it really hard to close distance on the ground because all our defensive options move us backwards in addition to the knockback. By jumping forward and air blocking we don't need to worry as much about losing ground by walking backwards. Both options kind of suck so the real answer might just be to try really hard to IB everything.
That's a fundamental thing to learn in fighting games in general
@@barnaclebooty2923 I know this is a month-old comment but you're absolutely right. Most people are probably forgetting how much Faust's defensive options move him backwards. As well, I think RF is sometimes jumping to try to dodge the curse ball, which obviously helps to mitigate HC's pressure.
@@NickJJU Definitely. The only other way to stop moving back is FD, but saving up for scarecrow prc is always going to have better reward.

From what I understand, Faust is considered to the worst character in the game sadly. He's a very fun charatcer though, and I feel that matters more (if you aren't playing at really high level.)

Debated getting this game for the longest time since watched so much of it. Seeing these 2 battle it out made me finally decide to get it. It’s crazy seeing just how high the skill ceiling is in this game.
Agreed. I like strive a lot cause I had a hard time getting into other fighting games since many inputs were hard for me to do and remember. Even if it's slightly simpler compared to other games in it's genre, there's still some amazing things you can pull off.

Don't think they need to nerf him at all. But FDing the steady aim shots should drastically reduce the guard crush. This level of spammy zoning is lame as shit, especially on such an intricate and high potential character.
It seems to guard crush only when the reticule gets smaller on the opponent. If anything when the opponent jumps they get pushed far away. Best to approach on foot
It does seem hard to pull off, He can for sure play the game in other ways, but I think this image of a guy with a gun is cool, similar to really well executed Axl zoning, yes it is frustrating but if you do manage to get close it can feel quite cathartic. The general idea of GG is that they want anything cool you can imagine to be doable, even if its crazy or seems too strong, they just balance it all, and I think these two characters looked pretty balanced to me.

Happy chaos is very player dependent. Some play him like a zoner and some play him by using the gun during melee combos. It really depends.

I'm sorry but happy chaos is OP, and I say this as a fan of him. But his pistols are too oppressive which would be fine if the reload was long but it's not. He reloads way too fast to the point were its a constant hail of gunfire. If they simply did a small nerf on that he would be fine

As a happy chaos main I personally say you have to zone to win because every character is bad match up for you in a since .
sounds like shitty design if the only way you win is by full screening. seems like comparing to different skills when you can win a game by comparing one person's ability to spam one move vs another person's ability to avoid, or tank chip damage attempting to cover distance between themself and a zone spammer* *dunno how many times something needs to be done to be considered spamming but that gun move's sound effects was getting annoying, so im voting spammy.
seems like startup frames are too fas for that gun, and no meter, like, he has the metered guns, that should be the only gun skills he has. *they have to change a lot of the rest of his kit so they dont just nerf him into the ground, buffs in other areas or things,* but im sick of that one skill or characters that have one spammable skill that makes a full character into 6 button strokes. like competitive batman from injustice.
@@TheOppiter Chaos is strong, but he also requires a very high amount of speed and precision to pull off this kind of gameplay. More inputs means more chances to mess up. I noticed 007 messed up a few times where they probably missed a directional input and got punished.
Chaos isn't entirely dependent on zoning to win as you may think, 007 closes the distance for melee combos into wall break several times in these matches after a hit confirm.
I played this game to get away from characters like chaos, now I cannot stop running into shit chaos mains without them zoning me out because faust has mix ups for days

It's really not that hard, at least Strive. The only thing that's harder to learn for strive than other FGs is Roman cancel imo. Xrd was WAY WAY WAYYYYYYY harder
