    I am lucky enough to have a Viking 130 VIP on my Ch750 STOL & another Viking 130 pusher going onto my Aventura II sea plane.
    In Australia there is a new Viking engine going on an aircraft every 4 weeks. We only have a population 10% of the USA, so they are good numbers and improving every year.
    A great product is part of the reason, the design proposition, comprehensive inclusions, obvious quality of every component and brilliant customer service form the rest of the story for Viking's growth.
    Viking is here to stay and will chomp market share from sedentary manufacturers every year.
    I LOVE their engines and the people behind the products.

    I totally get your idea on what basic customer service should look like. Anymore, I am content with a simple “hi” and “thank you.” When you have extraordinary service, it really sticks out! Looking forward watching your install! Nice Draco!

    Another great video. I'm really surprised you got your engine so quickly. Thanks for making it a bit longer with more information.

    Absolutely fan, I’m a fan of both Aeroworks and Viking, fantastic video Adam, great marketing and promo for Viking... hey Jan & Allysa, if you folks see my comments, you made the right call with Adam!
    To all you nay sayers in aviation... Viking is the whole idea! Loose the mixture, carb heat, and let an ECU do the tasks, they’re better at it with density altitude anyway. Get into the twenty first century here people, go Viking! Well, not too quick... I need one for my Super Duty too, and don’t want production delays like Adam had with Continental.

    Looking good Adam! I can tell that you have made a full recovery from the disappointment of not being able to get the Continental engine. You seem very excited to be a new Viking Engine customer. By the way, did Zenith ever replace the bent frame for you?

      Thanks Bob, and yes to being excited and yes to Zenith replacing cabin frame.

    You might want to consider adding the Dynon Knob panel. It makes using the Dynon much easier in flight. I speak from experience...

      Are you talking about the AP Knob panel? If so, no auto pilot in this plane.

    I know powder coating engine mounts is popular, but some say it is better to paint the mount rather than powder coat it. The argument is that you could develop a crack in the mount and the powder coat could remain intact and hide it. As we all know, paint tends to reveal every imperfection and in this case, it likely would reveal the crack!!

    • @eggenfellner
      @eggenfellner 3 роки тому +1

      We have personally never seen an issue with cracking on our mounts, a lot of that having to do with less vibration than a standard Lyco/Cont., and we always recommend a prop balance to help this even further, but still should always be checked. The paint works, but really looks horrible after only a short time and being 4130 will rust if not coated.

    • @AeroworksProductions
      @AeroworksProductions  3 роки тому +1

      I can see your point, but I have full confidence in the viking mount and the smoothness of the engine.

    • @n206ja
      @n206ja 3 роки тому +2

      @@eggenfellner My comment was not directed at the Viking mount, but rather concerning engine mounts in general. I'm sure the smooth Viking engine will make cracking less likely, but ANY engine mount could crack and this can lead to a catastrophic problem. I painted my mount with epoxy primer and top coated it and it looks great after 10 years.
      BTW, very impressed with the completeness of the engine installation supplies - this will save dozens of hours of sourcing the parts!

    • @eggenfellner
      @eggenfellner 3 роки тому

      @@n206ja for sure, I understand that completely - we just haven't had any issue to date, and people should be checking for this as part of a checklist any way, I don't really think the powder coat would disguise it though - I've seen powder coat crack before and it is visible as well. :) Lots of things could or possibly happen on anything, the biggest things is making sure people are proactive and not lack luster when doing pre-flights and maintenance to limit these issues.

    GM. How did you bend your rudder pedal piano hinge around your rudder pedals?

    • @AeroworksProductions
      @AeroworksProductions  3 роки тому +1

      I clamped in vise and made small bends to start, then when it was the basic shape I final formed it by hitting it with a mallet over a similar sized metal pipe.

    Like your attitude.
    The shipping company can't deliver the outcome you and Viking were looking for, take them out of the loop.
    Companies have to understand that the 'customer experience' and their corresponding desired outcome is the compelling Value Proposition, not just the product.

      For sure, we have dropped carriers in the past in a flash, this seemed to be an isolated incident as it is a well known and good carrier (we never go with run of the mill shipping) and his schedule being limited made it easier to pick up. Still a pain in the butt to have to do!

    • @daverobinsonTnT
      @daverobinsonTnT 3 роки тому

      @@eggenfellner : If you trust them to continue with them (the carrier) that would be good enough for all others using them then - because you guys are the "gold standard" for going beyond satisfying customer expectations in my opinion and you likely chose your suppliers to enable success ; my personal observation from just following the Experimental and Light Sport Aircraft building community over the last two years (two thumbs up)

      Shipping carriers are always a crap shoot. Recently ordered a 1440 lathe for my home shop. Came in perfect condition. Another guy I know ordered the same exact lathe from the same company and when he got his, it had been dumped over or something and was completely trashed. Broken handles and casting.
