- Watercolor Pouring Cherry Blossoms with hand painted finish. These flowers are strong yet beautiful, hardy yet elegant. So precious... Hiking, I saw on the hillside what looked like low cotton growing wild, as I came closer was delighted to find these little cherry blossoms growing on their raggedy branches. These flowers are also called a Flowering Tea Tree.
-learn by observation, you can learn so much by watching how the brush is held, the brush strokes, the paint poured, and the colors applied.

So beautiful! Thus is the first time I’ve seen watercolour pouring. I live it and can’t wait to try it. Maybe one day I could create something beautiful too. Is the quality of the paper as key as it is in normal watercolour painting?
Hi Hazel, yes it is very important due to the amount of water used. My favorites are 140 # Winsor and Newton Professional Cold Press Paper or Arches Cold Press.
Thank you to show us. It's seems to me so hazardous, how can you preserve the white between all this colour swiming around ?! So I go to the explanations and I have to thank you the details given.
You’re welcome 😀😀😀
She preserve the white area Through masking liquid
Wow, the music matches the ethereal quality of this painting so well! Everything about this painting is gorgeous… the process, color choices, composition. Thankyou so much for sharing!
thank you Tammy, you gave me a smile this sunny morning
That is very beautiful, and fascinating to watch! Hope there will be more using this technique.
More to come! Thank you for reaching out to me, this is still my favorite video I've made so far so your comment just made my day!
Hello Buffy, I am Claudia and I also take the painting turorials with Opus Arts Supplies. I saw you there today with Alison Pinto tutorial. I am an oil painter, and lately interested in watercolor. I am in Burnaby, wonder if you are also in the Lower Mainland to conect. Beautiful paintings you have. Have a wonderful day.
Today's demo with Alison was so lovely and full of information, Loved it. I live in California. Thank you for your kind words. I do a monthly workshop here on UA-cam for artists who become members. Here is a link where you can learn more: ua-cam.com/users/WatercolorPourjoin
Beautiful work ❤❤ I notice you have a fabulous fine mist spray bottle ....could you tell me where I could purchase one please? Thankyou
I have it listed on my Amazon Influencer Page, here is the link, thank you for using it for shopping I get a small commission to promote items on Amazon at no additional cost to you: www.amazon.com/shop/watercolorpour/list/CWS12AIUW0FJ?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d
What a wonderful, lovely technique! The softness effect of the colour is awesome. The water spray adds the effect. When I use the mask , while removing it peels the paper off. What can be done?
Mesmerizing painting. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much! Sorry for the delayed response, I use the Winsor and Newton Colourless Masking fluid and make sure it dries 100% after application, both the masking fluid and any paint to paper has to be completely dry. If it continues to tear it could be the paper you are using, I prefer 100% cotton paper to work on.
Oh, so glad I found you. This technique is so relaxing. Thank you. Please keep posting. God bless.
Thank you for the encouragement, new to UA-cam, still figuring things out, so happy you liked this post 😀
Absolutely stunning first time I have seen water colour pouring thank you very much I can’t wait to try,❤
Thanks so much 😊 happy pouring!
I'm guessing you used masking fluid, to protect the flowers
yes I use Winsor and Newton Colourless Masking Fluid
What is the opaque that is overlapping the edge of your painting please, is it just a surround to leave a edge all around the painting.?
yes it is artist tape to keep the paper from warping/buckling and also creates a white border when removed
Do you thin your masking solution? To make it easier to cover?
no I pour it straight from the bottle, this Winsor and Newton colourless formula is my favorite
Fascinating, great choice of musical accompaniment, wonderful result. Would like to know paint colors used.

Thanks very much for your patience and altruism. I’m masking and pouring, it’s totally engrossing 😅
Buffy, THIS!
Omgoodness 😱 as always so mesmerizing and relaxing to watch 💞
Glad you enjoyed it! This was my first UA-cam video
Hi it’s me again. I just ruined yet another brush using it to apply masking fluid; this time a brush with an acqua handle. The fluid solidifies on the brush. How do you manage? This is a major issue for me. 😢
I am sorry to hear your brush was ruined. I do not use the brush part but the end of the brush handle. The Aqua handle brushes are acrylic and with the angled end make it useful for applying. Then once dry it peels right off the smooth acrylic.
If you watch the video back again you can see how I use the brush handle end ❤
Beautiful, thank you for sharing.
Beautiful. How long does it take you to produce such a masterpiece?
when using the masking fluid it can take a full day, have to allow each layer of masking to dry and each layer of paint to dry
Thank you for your answer
Beautiful 😊
Hi Camilla - thank you for watching
So beautiful. Thank you. ❤
Beautiful…
Thank you
C'est vraiment magnifique ! ♥️
Love it. Question…with so much wet media…..how do you keep paper from super buckling and or to ensure it dries flat? What paper do you use or recommend? Do you use 100% cotton paper?
Thank you, yes I use 100% cotton professional paper - either Arches or Winsor and Newton Cold or Hot Press. Sometimes Fabriano Soft Press. I do not remove the tape until it’s 100% dry. Hope this helps
Beautifully delicate
This is the most soothing art I have seen :) Amazing and the results are stunning!
I have noticed in many of your pieces you brush a clear liquid from a glass/crystal dish on to your paper before applying water...do you mind saying what the liquid is? I think it appears to behave like a friskit...a resist, is that correct? Thank you for sharing, it is a pleasant high point of my day to watch!
Hello and thank you for your thoughtful comment, made my day! Yes I use Winsor and Newton Colourless Masking Fluid, I apply with the end of my brush, allow to dry completely and then paint. Once my painting is dry I can then remove it just like friskit.
Very beautiful! Thankyou for sharing 🙂 Do you stretch your paper first? TIA
Thank you, 😀only on larger paintings, usually just tape the paper and begin to paint.
Beautiful. 👌💕
Very nice. Love your pouring technique. Best way to glaze for multi shades of color!
Thank you, yes, it is a wonderful way to add glazes!
👌👌👌superb😍
Very nice.
Thank you 😀
Do you use tube paints to make the paint for your pours?
Also, what do you use to mask with?
With Tubes (need to mix a lot to remove any little paint clumps) Pans (I add some drops to the pan to pre wet it and then mix into water, no clumps) so I prefer pans over tubes but use both. I also use Peerless Liquid watercolors which are very pigmented so a few drops mixed with water and it’s ready to pour.
I use Colourless masking fluid by Winsor and Newton applied with the end of my paint brush. Using a brush with an aqua handle is best as the angled end makes it quite an effective tool.
Thank you so much!
Nice Interesting that's Creative Ristes
White colour paste then after effects project,Buetfully effect.Realast painting.
Which masking fluid do you use?
Hi Elaine - I use Winsor and Newton colourless masking fluid
Absolutely Stunning!
