    Totally agree!
    Traveled for 3 months (the Kimberley, NT and western Queensland with Kings RTT And annex. Works fine but and that's a big difference is that the Dune that I got now is much much easier to set up and more importantly to fold down single handed.

    Hi who mounted the tent to roof? and level of difficulty. Sellers no longer prepared to mount tents to vehicle… IH&S issues.

    • @thisplacebetween
      @thisplacebetween  Рік тому +1

      Hi. I've mounted that tent to the roof basis times. It's extremely easy. Only hard thing is getting someone to help lift it up. Just ensure the bolts are done up tightly as they can come loose. Check them regularly too.

    I was tossing up between a Dune 4wd or Kings awning and RTT and after your video and hearing that.. I'll definitely be going with Dune!! Glad I saw this and thanks for sharing!

    Hi there..
    I am thinking about buying the same tent but atm the only size they have is the 140. Do you think the 140 will be hanging over the sides too much? I got the same 120 series Prado as you

      Hey Mauro,
      I've got it on a defender now. So i can't really say tbh. But if I had my time again, I would get the wider one, esp if your planning on having two ppl sleeping in there. I think it wouldn't hang over the defender too much, maybe just measure it out? Good luck and happy adventures!!!

    Quick question, how do you find the roof rack brackets that you secure the tent to the vehicle with? Do you find the plastic nuts work their way loose over time? How tight are yours done up? I'm thinking of getting custom made stronger brackets as not convinced they are up to the job over a long drive?

    • @thisplacebetween
      @thisplacebetween  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Nathan.
      I've had no issues with the brackets at all, until recently. One came loose and fell off when travelling. But tbh, I think it was my human error I put them back on in a hurry without double checking.
      Start with then, see how you go. It's an easy set up.
      Have fun out there.

    Nice vid. I'm planning on buying this tent but I have to get roof racks for my Patrol first. I'm wondering what sort of roof racks you use and how the tent base attaches to it?

    • @thisplacebetween
      @thisplacebetween  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Jack. I have simple front runner roof racks. The tent attached via bolts and a arc device... I'll see if I can get a photo for you this afternoon.

    Hi Nicci,
    How do you find the dust when the unit is packed up with the cover on? The XTM from BCF(no longer selling) is quite the same design and had reports of the cover allowing dirt/dust inside. Just curious before I buy one myself.
    Cheers.

    • @thisplacebetween
      @thisplacebetween  4 роки тому

      Hi Michael.
      I e unpacked out recently a few times, even after being through a dusty storm.
      It's all good. Still clean!
      You just have to make sure you have put all material in and done up the straps tightly.
      The only design flaw I found is the straps excess flap when driving. You can put elastic around them to hold them or tie the excess strap in a knot like I do. It's not a biggie.

    • @thisplacebetween

      Absolutely, love it still.
      However, Drifter has just released a similar one that's hard shell. You can put maxtrax etc on it. I would be comparing the two if I was buying now.
      Have fun camping!

      It takes up the whole roof of a prado, so pretty big.
      Wind resistance was fine, I was still doing 110 without a hitch
