Totally agree! Traveled for 3 months (the Kimberley, NT and western Queensland with Kings RTT And annex. Works fine but and that's a big difference is that the Dune that I got now is much much easier to set up and more importantly to fold down single handed.
Hi. I've mounted that tent to the roof basis times. It's extremely easy. Only hard thing is getting someone to help lift it up. Just ensure the bolts are done up tightly as they can come loose. Check them regularly too.
I was tossing up between a Dune 4wd or Kings awning and RTT and after your video and hearing that.. I'll definitely be going with Dune!! Glad I saw this and thanks for sharing!
Hi there.. I am thinking about buying the same tent but atm the only size they have is the 140. Do you think the 140 will be hanging over the sides too much? I got the same 120 series Prado as you
Hey Mauro, I've got it on a defender now. So i can't really say tbh. But if I had my time again, I would get the wider one, esp if your planning on having two ppl sleeping in there. I think it wouldn't hang over the defender too much, maybe just measure it out? Good luck and happy adventures!!!
I’m looking at one of these as I do a lot of camping and I will definitely buy now that I saw all your bedding in there . I had a kings and the cover was a nightmare with my sleeping stuff in it thank you and hope to see you camping somewhere
Quick question, how do you find the roof rack brackets that you secure the tent to the vehicle with? Do you find the plastic nuts work their way loose over time? How tight are yours done up? I'm thinking of getting custom made stronger brackets as not convinced they are up to the job over a long drive?
Hi Nathan. I've had no issues with the brackets at all, until recently. One came loose and fell off when travelling. But tbh, I think it was my human error I put them back on in a hurry without double checking. Start with then, see how you go. It's an easy set up. Have fun out there.
Nice vid. I'm planning on buying this tent but I have to get roof racks for my Patrol first. I'm wondering what sort of roof racks you use and how the tent base attaches to it?
Useful video. Were you able to fit it on top of your stock roof rails? I have rails but not a rack. Just wondering if I could fit this on rails running alone sides of my Forester. :)
Hi Nicci, How do you find the dust when the unit is packed up with the cover on? The XTM from BCF(no longer selling) is quite the same design and had reports of the cover allowing dirt/dust inside. Just curious before I buy one myself. Cheers.
Hi Michael. I e unpacked out recently a few times, even after being through a dusty storm. It's all good. Still clean! You just have to make sure you have put all material in and done up the straps tightly. The only design flaw I found is the straps excess flap when driving. You can put elastic around them to hold them or tie the excess strap in a knot like I do. It's not a biggie.
Absolutely, love it still. However, Drifter has just released a similar one that's hard shell. You can put maxtrax etc on it. I would be comparing the two if I was buying now. Have fun camping!
This Place Between yes normally people do season their swags al I thought these need the same however I’m not 100% sure. I purchased mine yesterdee, In Fact my original idea was to purchase the Kwiky kings tent however bad reviews and hard shell seems to break
Hi, thanks for posting this video. Wondering how long you have had it ? And if you've had any issues with it ? Particularly curious/wondering if the fact its got a window/opening in the roof has caused any issues with leaks in wet weather ? It appears to be a good thing ? Regards Gaz
It's good actually. Have used it a few times. A bit of wear from where it runs in the cover while I'm hurling along on highways at 120km/hr, but otherwise fine! I'll do another vid soon.
@@thisplacebetween hi thank you for your reply. Im looking to get the 120 & put on 100 series cruiser & thought i was going to have a lot of overhang at the front ? But found yesterday i can move front roof bar forward another 200mm which will make it better. Are you still happy with yours ? No issues ? Regards Garry

Great video Nicci. I was just searching these tents as a possible buy for my son for Christmas and I’m so glad I came across yours. Totally had me at your explanation over avoiding Kings😉 Do you plan on putting out more camping related vids? If not, what sort of content do you have planned? Will sub if it’s up my alley 🤷🏻♀️🤞 Greetings from Brissy 👋🏼
Hey. Thanks for your comment. Th I just made this video for a friend or two, and ummm surprised it's got so much attention. I'm just setting up my rig this month, that car was borrowed but my tent on top. Then planning on more solo adventures, so... Who knows there maybe more stinky vids! Yeah avoid kings, too much testosterone. The anaconda guys were so helpful when I bought this, nice to be treated as a human instead of a second rate human like at the kings place. I hope your soon lives this tent as much as I do!
Hey I was looking at a king's tent as well until I watched your video on this tent. So far your the only person who has a "review" of this tent. Just wondering how you find it and if you've used it in wind or rain? Cheers!
Hi Nathan. In wind yes at cooper pedy, it stood up really fine. One night there was heaps of fog so wet in the morning. I took my bedding out when I folded it down.
Hi, absolutely love this video! Nice to see a soft top roof top tent that’s easy to assemble! I was wondering how easy it is to pack away and put the cover back on solo? Thanks in advance :) Sarah
Nice video I just put a lay buy on this roof top tent. I went in to kings and wanted the kwiky and they almost refused to sell it to me and kept trying to get me to spend 2500 on there big roof top tent which has terrible reviews
Yeah i keep laughing at Kings, I keep seeing their hardshell tent on peoples cars, obviously broken. Most vids say they won't do exchanges, which is a shame. Hope you found the tent of your dreams, enjoy the adventures.
Honestly I’m with you on that for sure they’re rude! Not only me having bad experiences needing to bring back the same item up to 4 times with a bunch of their products but also my friends have had similar issue. Good on you for the upload I’m interested in this tent as well 🙏🏽
Kings suck anyway, it's all just cheap junk. Be curious to see more pics or video of it when packed down, just to see how big it really is and how much wind resistance to expect.
Thanks for the advice...great job!

Hi Jack. I have simple front runner roof racks. The tent attached via bolts and a arc device... I'll see if I can get a photo for you this afternoon.

Literally 20 seconds to put down and maybe 5 mins max to put on cover.
I'll do a video of that one day, just a bit concussed atm.
Just wondering how long youve had tent, how many times you have used it
I like the desingn of these

Hi John, I used it for 11 days. I love it. But you need a long car for it, like a 4wd. The other compact tents take ages to pack up n down...

Hi! I have been camping in it over xmas, I can confidently say it took me 5 mins to pack down, including putting the cover back over it!
You should do a review of 1 year of having it :)

It seems to be a theme in most of their stores tbh. Hope you're having fun out there.
Dune tent is better quality than kings.
What size is this?the 120 or 140?Thank you!
120... it's only me and I'm little.

Hey could this sleep 2 people and a child? Just from your opinion? Thank you
Ummm if you want to be cosy.
I got the smaller size. Maybe go to anaconda and try it out?
Water proof?
I'm sure it is... only been in light rain... there's a drought on unfortunately.
Do you think it wouldn't withstand normal or stronger rain?
Kings suck anyway, it's all just cheap junk. Be curious to see more pics or video of it when packed down, just to see how big it really is and how much wind resistance to expect.
It takes up the whole roof of a prado, so pretty big.
Wind resistance was fine, I was still doing 110 without a hitch
