      @@MetalGamer666 i agree, they should give us the option to buy a catalog from which we can buy each vendors inventory at our bases. In fact, go ahead and let it take some in game days to ship the ordered parts if they're not readily available in the system our base is in. Even further, lets have a chance to run into the delivery ship mid route and help or rob them😂❤

    Great video, I love those new gameplay options. Being able to make both me and enemies do much more damage is a great way to eliminate spongy health bars and it feels a lot more realistic. Also lower inventory capacity (I know, I'm crazy) but also make vendors have a lot more credits so you have somewhere to unload loot for credits. Really love this update, may jump back in once it hits console. What I hope to see with Shattered Space is fleshing out the space experience and the ship exploration. The star systems could certainly function like the planets, with POI shooter arenas that spawn (repeat themselves), and I love the Starstation shooter dungeons. Also a more fluid experience between said POI's while in space would do wonders for the game overall.

    A most excellent update where am feeling the Bethesda energy flowing thru their miraculous creation. The new options settings are incredible reminding me of THE ELDER SCROLLS II DAGGERFALL. Love that we have gotten a survival mode of sorts with a hunger/thirst system with multiple choices along with being able to increase player/enemy damage input and output. Having the choice to add weight to ammo is also much welcomed along with the options of how to deal with loot where it can be a non issue if choosing to send loot to one's ship from anywhere and not at just some locations. Looking forward to what the future vehicle update brings when it is ready.

  • @marconihimself
    @marconihimself 11 днів тому

    The gameplay tweaks being there in the base game is HUGE. I always mod the balancing of these things in fallout and skyrim and it can take several slots of a load order and a lot of trial and error to get it just right. On the combat side of things, I hate that 90% of the games equates difficulty to you dealing less damage and the enemy dealing more damage. My preferred take is: static hp pools (only better armor matters, your hp for the whole game is determined by the "endurance" stat only), lethal headshots, everyone dealing a lot of damage + bleeding and crippled mechanics.
    I also play mainly on survival. Having things like sustenance and afflictions of all sorts, specially environmental afflictions, is big in making exploration more interesting, specially in barren planets where the only manner of engaging with the environment is by actually making it hazardous. Also, food healing is bs, it takes me back to skyrim and its cheese wheels as substitutes for healing potions.
    Ive also put some thought on the whole " lackluster exploration" side of things, and I arrived to the conclusion that in order to make liminal spaces more interesting you could simply implement a fuel mechanic for system to system travel, like in mass effect. Fuel can be acquired in cities and can be mined from planets, so if you need to go somewhere 5 warps away and dont have fuel you can warp 3 systems away, land on a random planet and mine x minerals to use for fuel to continue your journey. Jumps inside the system itself costs no fuel. Hopefully this turns into a mod in the future.

    Separating the ground combat from space combat difficulty modifiers is a step in the right direction, though I would have preferred the space combat to be better balanced. Minimizing ship damage on both sides would make it worth considering other weapon types. As is you really just need to pump 24 pips of power into max range particle beam auto-turrets and keep a partially powered set of manual auto-beams to concentrate fire on anything that gets close. Ships are too fragile by default to bother doing anything else as hitting enemies as they spawn(before their shields can charge) makes things even faster.

    I may have found Starfield incredibly boring at launch but since your video about what games you enjoyed that most people didn't I gave it another shot with a new character and playstyle. I'm happy to say that I'm having quite a bit of fun (about the same level as non-modded Fallout 4) and I've poured about 15-20 hours more in it. It's still far from perfect but and I still think there's some aspects that are downright bad but that's a start.
    I'm also happy to say that the implementation of DLSS made my game significantly more fluid (although it should be that way without DLSS)

    The Difficulty options alone fix a lot of the issues with the game, that I had to do with mods. Really appreciate more and more devs moving away from the "you MUST experience the game EXACTLY how we want you to".

    • @lynackhilou4865
      @lynackhilou4865 18 днів тому +6

      Idk what complete means in this context but i'll give my two cents .
      As the game is right now , i think it's a decent experience for 50 hours or so , some additions like vehicules would defintely be a great improvement but most added things aren't gonna fundamentally change the game , so i would say if you don't have a game to play right now you can jump into starfield but it would be better to wait until September when the dlc drops and these additions are added and experience everything at once .
      As for being complete , honestly it wasn't lacking a lot at launch aside from technical fixes and QoL improvements , my main issue with it is how they changed exploration and all the procedural generation but that's a core design decision that Bethesda made ( that i think is wrong and made the game worse ) and not something that wasn't finished .

    • @scrublord7922

      @@lynackhilou4865 I still think starfield was too bold. They should have just played it safe and invested in another mainline fallout or elder scrolls.

    I would love to get back into starfield, but its just empty. Like whats the point of farming resources just to lvl up to kill enemies easier to complete the game and then do it all over again in new game+?
    They need less procedural stuff and more hand crafted things to find and do.

      Where folks have shown up, installed an outhouse, and thrown down a cot?
      "Tree" analogies.
      "Grass" analogies.
      "Animal" analogies...dangerous ones only if planet has something worth the investment in lime.
      Atmospheres of various mixes, some needing issues. No- or corrosive atmosphere "planet" had better have something worth my decaying mattress.
      Bare rocks? Bah, send out the drone miners and stay home. We got those in Sol's system.
      And certainly don't need them in games. Well maybe 8% of "planets".
      VonBiome style mod would be nice for this drabbiness.

    I feel like just for QOL people are gonna be maxing out their carry capacity from now on. I'm someone who actually enjoys the weight restrictions and inventory management that comes with a limited carry capacity, but from what I've seen, a ton of people do not share my opinion on that matter
