On the highways here in the Washington DC suburbs I'd say a solid 30% of drivers text and drive or at least have their phones in their hands

So it's not "too many trucks" but "too little road capacity".
@@daniel_960_ Yeah, it's because in countries such as Spain or France highways are much more expensive and there's a lot of free auxiliary roads that go along highways (often two lanes in one direction), so the traffic is split between those who are in a hurry and don't mind to spend money on tolls and those who want to travel for free. In Germany traffic relies mainly on highways, because they're free for cars up to 7,5 tonnes and fairly cheap for trucks.

When you're driving with your mom this is how fast she thinks you're going.
this *is* how fast I was going with my mother in the passenger seat a few weeks ago ^^
I was riding in my friends car one time his mom was in the car with us, she told him to slow down to 25 mph when he was already going 25. Then when he had to stop for a red light she said ok NOW you're going 25 (we were actually not moving) me and my friend just looked at each other because we couldnt believe she said that.
This is how fast I was going with my mom and dad in my RS5 B9 Coupé and RS4 B9 Avant and RS5 B9 Sportback on 1st January 2019!

I love how you can actually do this in Germany. I’m not talking about limitless roads , more the driver Discipline. Everyone sticks to the rules and understands how to conduct themselves on a motorway. If you did this in the uk there’d be some prick sat in the outside lane at 70mph acting like he’s sheriff of the road keeping everyone at the limit. It’s a shame.

how nice autobahn can be when there are few trucks around
Autobahn without trucks is nice, but I still prefer shop shelves that aren't empty or gas stations that have, well, gas.
arekb5 but it’s getting kind of out of control. They drive now constantly in two lanes on a three lane road. There’re way too many trucks.
@@daniel_960_ Society earns more money so it consumes more goods. Goods producers need more transportation capacity to fulfill buyers demand. Producers sell more goods, so their employees earn more. And we've come full circle. Transportation is key. If there were more cost effective means of cargo transport than trucks, they would be already in use. So it's not "too many trucks" but "too little road capacity".
arekb5 strangely this is only a problem in Germany. I rarely see trucks on any other European highway.
This is true freedom !
Imagine how refine an engine should be to achieve this kind of an exquisite flight-like drive on autobahn. Imagine the water pump and fuel pump sucking and drinking every single molecule in the tanks while pistons work like rocket fast, turbo feeding the engine with gallons of air and its clever ECU, ABS, ESP and differential systems make millions of calculations in a minute. Imagine the windshield protects and functions as a shield just like a windshield in an aero plane and still it feels just like you want. This is pure satisfaction.
