- Nandi Kegode loves to get high. However, her relationship with heroin, cocaine, crystal meth and pain medication took her down a slippery slope that almost killed her. At Engage 25, Nandi shares her addiction journey, turnaround and what really gets her high now.
Engage provides a platform for everyday people to Inform. Inspire. Influence through speech and music
For everyone complaining that she was bragging about their wealth: the point of that was to illustrate how they went from everything to having nothing which then led to her frustration, confusion and depression. That's it
Good listener👌🏿

Such a beautiful and well spoken girl. I can tell from your talk that you're wise.
It's never the drugs so much so than the need to escape

Sooo engaging I love
Love it but I wish it wasn't so vague. It would have helped to hear exactly how she stopped the drugs, something many an addict would like to know.

This is a very inspiring story told by the best person who has overcome but am not sure if the expression of how she loved it expresses her real struggle with addiction almost wouldst want someone to want to try it but overall thanks for encouraging at the end

What year were you homeless in Las Vegas?
Beautiful girl.
Second time watching this
Flew to school on chartered planes ...sound of a Range Rover nearing the gate..i mean that is the definition of a tycoon.
I hate the glorification of drugs🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ the children really don’t have the wisdom to separate this glory to the problem at hand 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
Awesome
Her parents should have informed her early on to their financial decline and supported her through the process instead of saying we can't pay for your education. Why not a junior college or something? Why did it have to be all or nothing? She wasn't taught how to deal with the big bumps in life. If a child is raised to understand having money is a blessing then they are less selfish in their thinking. Her parents didn't teach her life skills. Why did she only have 2 choices? She didn't but she believed what her dad told her. When she got to the military she was ill prepared for the "deprived" setting versus her wealthy upbringing. She gravitated to the people who had the most problems versus the people were going to make the most of their military career. So many bad choices that started with her dad's poor guidance and her then poor choices. Money without personal responsibility and guidance is a recipe for disaster.
Why you looking for someone to blame when Nandi herself figured out she was the problem and sorted herself?
She never spoke to her father
This should have been long
wow ...
mAGNIFIQUE
Your so amazingly narcissistic
Sorry but your story is confusing and wreaks of entitlement.
That's the whole point of her story. Her people were extremely wealthy, yet she ended up in the streets, begging and stealing. It happened to her, it can happen to anyone. Yet, one can pick themselves up and start again
Wanjera that's her true story. That's who she is. Life stories are told from a place of authenticity... rich/middle class/poverty. We all come from one of these places and it shapes us. Let's embrace people's experience and learn something
@@joyb5353 nothing authentic here. She even looks like a "he". Not everyone does drugs, abuses their family or runs away from home. She doesn't tell us how her family accumulated the obscene wealth they had. Mali ya kuiba, hanging out with Freemason types will produce this. Better a little in peace. Than vast riches with strife.
@@catherinenyoro3953 I am way aware of mental health. The difference between how mental health is defined with the rich and poor is awareness. The poor term it in another word but experiences are all the same. This is her story ,respect it. I am very proud that she is talking about it. We have along way as Kenyans in embracing mental health, one step at a time
@@joyb5353 Yeah, yeah, mental schmental health. So why are listening to the degraded lifestyles of these rich has beens. If we truly want to hear/understand mental health issues, bring the poor, oppressed and downtrodden to the podium. His/her financial class spawned the poverty and violence nightmare that so many Kenyans find themselves trapped in today. She/he is a beneficiary of that largesse. what can she/he tell us?
