This was a really great watch Maxim. One thing I’ve done when my daughter and I had a leaky tent on a kayak trip was put the emergency 6x8 poly tarp between the tent fly and the main tent body. Just make sure it covers the top and the side the doors not on. I know that seems intuitive but when you’re tired and you’ve got a beautiful water feature inside your tent at 2 in the morning…😅. So… one morning when i was on my way out tge door to work at 530 there was something that looked an awful lot like that mink standing next to a fresh bunny kill under my tailpipe of my car. Same size, same cute innocent face with this very fresh, still twitching, bunny harvest. He or she was lookin at me like “touch my breakfast and you too will experience the same fate”😁. Fearless! Absolutely fearless! Like my 7 lb shorkie who barks angrily at 120 lb bermese mtn dogs🙄. Anyway. I’m gonna sound crazy here but i think it might be time for s new tent😬. Great watch sir and take care. NQU
Hey there NQU! Thais does not accept giving up on this tent - she's very handy and insists on trying to repair/reseal a second time. I gotta say it's remarkable how well this tent has performed - besides the leaking at the seams (from dried out seam tape ), and one broken zipper pull, it hasn't shown any other signs of wear in over 10 years of relatively heavy use. That said, I am very much looking forward to getting an ultralight tent.
I like the way you feature all the little creatures you find, and the attention to nature while keeping it interesting with your camping details and journey. Nice touch with the guitar soundtrack!

@@maximbudnick I'm from Israel, from a small community not so far from Tel Aviv. I've got my kayak, camping gear and fishing rods, but the a mount of wild places or remote places is very very limited. This is why Canada is the right place to be for that
Hey Gabriel - I lived in the USA for a while, and there were still places to hike/camp, but I missed having vast wilderness close by in the way that I have in Ontario. I'm curious - Hows the fishing there? And what kind of places can go camping?
It's not specifically a travel guitar. It's a Godin which is a brand from Quebec. This guitar was actually my first gift to my wife when we started dating. We brought it on this trip because it's smaller and lighter than my other guitars, and we happen to have a nice shockproof case for it. It's definitely tough bringing a guitar out - I'm always worried about temperature changes and humidity.
@@maximbudnick that's lovely! Yeah, here in California I'm not worried about humidity much, just looking for a good size light weight decent quality one so I can compose out on the trail. Cheers
This setup I had would be perfect if humidity and temperature were not an issue. The shockproof case is a super durable and light foam - that made all the difference. Cheers
Hey, David. My pleasure. That was such a serene trip with the beautiful fall colors, the weather, and Thais curled up reading her book. Glad you enjoyed. Cheers
Fantastic job. Nature is beautiful and through your Lens, it’s being shown in such a captivating way; especially in the fall season. For those not familiar with the Canadian Shield, this is a perfect example of utter excellence that we call our home 🇨🇦 Love the subtle restock of wood at the end too, true camper. Correct if I’m wrong is this in this near Kirkland lake area? Keep killin it, ur guitar riffs are insanely majestic
Hello, friend! Thanks for that - glad you liked this one, and thank you for mentioning you enjoyed the guitar :) This is not by Kirkland Lake though - it's West of Algonquin. All the best, Snuggle!
There's something about leaving behind a clean beautiful campsite - not only is it the right thing to do, but it finishes off the trip with and extra feelig of goodness. I love the idea of leaving it better than you found it, but this campsite was absolutly pristine when we arrived and also had some wood left over - the only thing I could possibly do was stack it under the bench to protect from rain. Actually from the videos I'm looking at the mess of old broken grills stacked by the beautiful red maple. It's funny how those grilles camoflauged into the site - I saw them but they weren't disruptive in any way. I usually feel man made things are a bit of an eyesore and tuck them out of sight
Thank you for sharing that serene beauty. Any chance you can say which lake (or general area) that was? (I live in Ontario & would love to trek there in future.)
Hey there! I didn't want to post the exact location since it's relatively close to Toronto and also to more popular areas... If you give me your email address, or DM me on instagram, I'll tell you where it is. Thanks for watching! ✌️🌿
@@maximbudnick - amazing that it's close to TO ...that's all the info I need as I'm going to be much more north in Ontario & wondered if it would be on my path, thank you again for all your absolutely inspiring videos.
Hello Eli thanks for watching. It is always tricky for me with sharing some locations publicly for various reason such as being close to population centers. If I dont share the location its usually for a reason. If you want specifics message me on instagram.
I worry a lot about that. This trip wasn't too bad - the temperature didn't swing too wildly, and I'll do things like let it warm up slowly out of the case, not sit too close to fire, etc.. Also, I've been thinking that I might need a designated beater guitar for trips... Thanks for watching!
@@maximbudnick yeah a $200 fender or yammy might be the way to go, with some decent strings of course! Or maybe get one of those crazy carbon fibre contraptions. The KLOS. Sounds pretty good on the ole youtube anyways. Take care.
@@maximbudnick as sketchy as it sounds, the neck also detaches while its still strung so you can pack it up easier. Just checked them out though, as you might have assumed, not cheap!

This is why Canada is the right place to be for that
Hey Gabriel - I lived in the USA for a while, and there were still places to hike/camp, but I missed having vast wilderness close by in the way that I have in Ontario. I'm curious - Hows the fishing there? And what kind of places can go camping?
Gorgeous time of year to be out - I did Temagami last week - doing Mattawa River this week! Thanks for another great video!!!
Hey there, Curtis. Glad you enjoyed - thanks for watching. How was Temagami?
I did thieving bear, Maclean lake and anima Nipissing - it was stunning!
Wonderful! THanks for sharing
Beautiful 👍🏻
Thank you!!!
Congratulations; Getting close to 5k subs Max
Thank you, Joenabel
May I ask what kind of travel guitar that is?
Cheers
Needed this today. Thank you.
For those not familiar with the Canadian Shield, this is a perfect example of utter excellence that we call our home 🇨🇦
Love the subtle restock of wood at the end too, true camper.
Great enjoy!

Most welcome
What is the greenery you used in your coffee? I’ve seen it used in previous videos and didn’t think to ask.
These are cedar leaves, and we were making cedar tea. Thanks for reaching out 🙂
hey in your vids could you say the name of the lake or the route your taking for canoe trip ideas in ontario thx
Hello Eli thanks for watching. It is always tricky for me with sharing some locations publicly for various reason such as being close to population centers. If I dont share the location its usually for a reason. If you want specifics message me on instagram.
what state is this in
Hi, Luann! This is in Ontario, Canada :) Thanks for watching
You don't worry about your guitars gettin all bent outta shape from temp change and humidity? That's what's held me back from bringing mine.
Take care.
@@TheDarkestOne Woah carbon fibre - thats something to look into. It can stand the elements I hope..?
Interesting regarding the carbon fivre. I'll look into that. Would be great to be able to play inside a hot tent in winter
@@maximbudnick as sketchy as it sounds, the neck also detaches while its still strung so you can pack it up easier. Just checked them out though, as you might have assumed, not cheap!
