  • I am creating a special themed sculpture to benefit the National Kidney Foundation during the month of March, National Kidney Month. Titled "The Good Bean," this sculpture has a kidney-shaped frame to highlight its connection with the NKF's efforts in raising awareness of kidney health.
    For this final video in the series I show lots of detail on bending up a winding section of track including a dip. There is also footage of welding on track spacers and welding the track to the sculpture frame at various points. If you want to see free-form track creation plus watching the whole thing come together as a finished piece, then this is your video! At the end is a link to a feature video of the completed sculpture. I always appreciate questions or comments as well as likes and shares. Thanks!
    If you are interested in commissioning a themed piece for your own event, company or organization, please contact me at one of the links below. I'd be happy to speak with you about the possibilities.

      Thanks, man! I'm glad I was finally able to complete the series. You requested a video on the marbles I use/have, and I should be able to get that done in the next week or two. Thanks again for checking out my work!

    I am trying to learn how to get into this. I've always been amazed by these sculptures. You do great work. Where do you get your wire/rod for your track>

      Thanks for checking out my video, Cody. I have a page on my web site (link in the description) that answers a lot of common questions for interested builders. I get the stainless for my artwork either from local metal supply shops or sometimes ordering online, whichever has the best price. There is a rolling ball sculpture Facebook group that is helpful answering questions as well. Best of luck to you!

    All bent by hand. I assumed some fancy contraption(s) would be used.

      Thank you for the compliment. Yes, this is 1/8" stainless wire. I have a Q&A on my web site that answers a lot of other builder questions at tomharold.com.

      Thank you for your quick answer, I would like to ask you again where I could buy such wire

      @@andreasherr6848 I buy wire from either local metal supply shops or sometimes online. Search for "stainless steel suppliers in my area" and see what comes up.

    What kind of welder is that?

    • @TomHaroldArt
      @TomHaroldArt  6 років тому

      It's an old Miller 150 STH. I think they have a newer model now, but it's the small, basic TIG welder that Miller makes.
