- In 1931 Bing Crosby made a series of six comedy/musical shorts for the Hollywood Mack Sennett studios. Each '2 reel' short included a couple of Bing Crosby songs - probably would be called 'song plugging' these days!
This second film in the series - "One More Chance" was filmed in 1931, and released to cinemas in November 1931. Bing plays a washing machine salesman who has troubles with his family and a bevy of dusky North American overweight maidens. Bing Crosby sings a couple of songs "Wrap Your Troubles In Dreams" & "Just One More Chance" . The film ends with the usual car chase. It stars Bing Crosby with Patsy O'Leary. Directed by Mack Sennett himself.
Two of the series were released shortened a little in the UK by Pathescope on the 9.5mm 'home movie' film gauge - "Sing Bing Sing" and "Blue Of The Night" - you will find I have uploaded those 9.5mm sound prints some years ago.
I make no money from these uploads!
